Abstract

Pineapple leaves natural fibers contain lignin, hemicellulose, and cellulose. The cellulose content of pineapple leaves is around 69.5% -71.5%. Cellulose-derived microcrystals can be used in the pharmaceutical field as binders in tableting formulations. The research objective was to determine whether pineapple leaves can produce microcrystals, microcrystals can be used in the manufacture of hydrogels and to determine variations in the volume of glutaraldehyde that can affect hydrogels. Experimetal research began with delignification with 4% NaOH, immersed for 1 hour and heated, washed with distilled water until neutral pH and blended with 2.7% NaOH, 7.9% acetic acid, NaOCl until white, heated, the residue was taken and drained. , soaked in 1 N HCl, reheated for 2 hours, re-stirred and blended until smooth. Cellulose hydrogel was dissolved in 8.5% NaOH and added with glutaraldehyde in various volume variations. Cellulose and hydrogel microcrystals were characterized by visual, swelling ratio test, FTIR, SEM and XRD. The yield of microcrystalline cellulose was 22%, white, homogeneous. Cellulose and hydrogel microcrystals contain O-H (3800-2700 cm-1), C-H (3000-2850 cm-1) and C-O (1300-800 cm-1) groups. Microcrystalline cellulose can be made from pineapple leaves, hydrogel formation is influenced by variations in the volume of glutaradehyde and the highest and lowest swelling ratios are 400% and 12.5%, respectively.

Abstract

Tuna as a seafood product that is often consumed by the public, has a high protein content and omega-3 fatty acids. The micro zinc mineral is needed, both for the synthesis and degradation of biomolecules as well as the role of enhancing the immune system. Zinc reacts with ditizone in a red base. Research to determine zinc content in raw, fried, steamed, and grilled tuna. Samples were taken purposively at the Sei Sikambing Medan traditional market, determination of levels using visible spectrophotometry, digestion with a solution of ditizone in alkaline. Method validation parameters include accuracy, precision, and sensitivity. Percent recovery of 100.50% and RSD 0.95%, LOD 0.620 ?g/ml and LOQ 2.066 ?g/ml. The zinc levels of raw, steamed, fried, and grilled tuna were 22.214 mg, 22.063 mg, 22.3384 mg, and 22.234 mg per 100g, respectively. ANOVA test, there is a significant difference in the acquisition of zinc levels in raw tuna, steamed tuna, grilled tuna, fried tuna. The method used is quite accurate. The zinc content of raw, fried, grilled tuna was higher than that of steamed, but there was no real difference.

Abstract

Clarias batrachus is one of the commercially cultivated freshwater fish species in Indonesia, especially in North Sumatra. Nutrinya content of protein, fat, minerals, carbohydrates, and water. Minerals play an important role in metabolic processes that ensure the maintenance of body functions at the cellular, tissue and organ levels. The research was aimed at determining the zinc content of raw, steamed, grilled, and fried catfish by using visible light spectrophotometry method after destruction and adding alkaline dithizone solution. Clarias batrachus samples were taken purposively from the traditional market of Sei Sikambing Medan. Method validation includes accuracy, precision, and sensitivity. The results show that it is accurate with accuracy, precision, limit of detection and quantitation of 99.95% each; 1.06%; 0.620 g/ml; 2.066 g/ml. ANOVA test showed no significant difference in zinc content of raw, steamed, grilled, and fried catfish.

Abstract

Maceration of Celery leaves using 96% ethanol solvent was used to make the extract. Toothpaste is formulated with carboxymethylcellulose and alginate binders. The active ingredient in the form of ethanol extract of Celery leaves has the potential for antibacterial. This study was to evaluate the concentration of carboxymethylcellulose-alginate in the preparation of antiseptic toothpaste of ethanol extract of Celery leaves. Evaluation of production results consisted of organoleptic, homogeneity, spreadability, foam formation, acidity and viscosity. The higher the concentration of carboxymethylcellulose, the lower the foam and spreadability and the higher the viscosity, while the alginate concentration is the opposite. Abstract

Diare ditandai ekskresi tinja cair dengan ulangan tiga kali atau lebih per hari, akibat infeksi saluran cerna karena makanan dan air terkontaminasi mikroorganisme, ataupun langsung dari manusia akibat rendahnya sanitasi. Penelitian ditujukan untuk mengetahui karakteristik pasien diare, pengobatan dan efektivitas biaya pengobatan di Rumah Sakit Putri Hijau Medan. Penelitian non eksperimental bersifat deskriptif dan retrospektif rekam medik pasien bagian keuangan sejak Juli-Desember 2018. Cost Effectiveness Analysis sebagai metode analisis biaya. Karakteristik pasien diperoleh perempuan 14 (46,670%) dan laki-laki 16 (53,33%). Efektivitas New Diatabs (92,30%) dan New Diatabs-Metronidazole (94,11%). Biaya terapi dengan New Diatabs Rp 1.547,771/pasien dan New Diatabs-Metronidazole Rp 1.562,590/pasien. Average cost effectiveness New Diatabs Rp. 190.345 dan New Diatabs-Metronidazole Rp 183.060, sehingga disimpulkan terapi cost effective adalah penggunaan kombinasi New Diatabs-Metronidazole dibandingkan New Diatabs

Abstract

Ibu-ibu di desa Cinta Rakyat mempnyai aktivitas keseharian sebagai ibu rumah tangga dan turut serta dengan suami sebagai petani dan nelayan, serta aktivitas sosial organisasi desa dan agama, tidak sampai pada kegiatan peningkatan ekonomi keluarga. Pembuatan krim berbahan alami, seperti biji pala, serai, dan kecombrang atau tumbuhan lain sekitar rumah sangat mudah, alat sederhana, biaya murah, dan mempunyai nilai ekonomi. Target kegiatan adalah memberi pendampingan pembuatan krim penghangat tubuh, penghilang pegel linu dan pengusir nyamuk alami. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dipandang perlu dilakukan pendampingan pembuatan krim penghangat tubuh, pegel linu dan pengusir nyamuk. Pendampingan tidak hanya pembuatan, tetapi sampai pengemasan produk yang baik dan penyuluhan arah pemasaran produk hasil karya masyarakat Cinta Rakyat Percut Sei Tuan. Produk sediaan krim berbahan alami ini memilki nilai jual, sehingga besar harapan dapat meningkatkan penghasilan dan kesejahteraan keluarga.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 merubah struktus dan tatanan kehidupan masyarakat. Peningkatan kasus Covid-19 menyebabkan Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat. Masyarakat tidak leluasa beraktivitas dan ekonomi makin terpuruk. Demikian juga masyarakat di desa Cinta Rakyat Percut Sei Tuan, biasa beraktivitas sebagai petani dan nelayan. Ibu rumah tangga membantu suami, belum beraktivitas mandiri dari rumahan, sehingga berpeluang diberi ketrampilan oleh Tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat dari Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Indah Medan dalam pembuatan Hand Sanitizer antiseptik alami tumbuhan. Pembuatan tidak sulit, berbahan baku murah dan dengan alat sederhana sehingga dapat diproduksi rumahan. Hasil produksi di-manage agar dapat dipasarkan melalui toko, swalayan, dan online. Pengabdian ditujukan melatih pembuatan Hand Sanitizer berbaha tumbuhan. Pendekatan persuasive dilakukan kepada Ibu-ibu untuk mengikuti pelatihan agar lepas dari keterpurukan ekonomi. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan produk sediaan Hand Sanitizer yang dibuat ibu peserta dikemas dengan baik dan siap untuk dipasakan. Pelatihan bersama dengsn Tim Pengabdian sesuai dengan yang diharapkan peserta.

Abstract

Lut Tawar dan Pegasing merupakan dua yang ada di Aceh Tengah, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) sebagai objek Pengabdian oleh Tim PKM Program Studi S1 Farmasi STIKes Indah Medan dan Progran Studi Farmasi SMK Al Razi Sinar Harapan Medan. Ibu anggota TIM PKK utusan Lut Tawar dan Pegasing biasa bersama suami sebagai petani. Ibu yang tergabung dalam TIM PKK berkumpul di Kator Dinas KBP3A untuk dilatih dan dibimbing Tim PKM memproduksi SAOS TOMAT. Tomat salah satu komoditi sayuran asal Aceh Tengah yang saat tertentu panen raya melimpah di Pasar sehingga harga menjadi turun dan berimbas ke kota lain, termasuk Medan, Sumatera Utara; bahkan petani sendiri terkadang tidak lagi memanen karena biaya operasional tidak tercover dari hasil jual panen. Untuk mengatasi ini, alangkah lebih baik bila diolah menjadi SAOS TOMAT sehingga penghasilan petani stabil setiap saat. Ibu-ibu peserta Tim PKK utusan Lut Tawar dan Pegasing mengikuti dengan sangat antusias dan produk SAOS TOMAT sesuai yang diharapkan
