Abstract

In general, the hydrocarbon molecules in the fuel perform vibrational activity towards the core and attract each other, forming clustering molecules. Induction of a magnetic field in the fuel flow can change the hydrocarbon molecules so that their arrangement becomes more regular (de-clustering). The induction of the magnetic field in this research utilized a coil that was fed by an output current from the SINJAI-150 engine alternator. Magnetic field placement was placed before Bioethanol E100 fuel entered the injector. Observation of the magnetization of the fuel was carried out molecularly with the FTIR (Fourier Transform-Infra Red Spectroscopy) test and observing the characteristics of the fuel spray at the injector output. The results obtained were an increase in the fuel transmittance of Bioethanol E100 up to 41.31% for C-H compounds, 48.8% for C-O compounds, and 114% for O-H compounds compared to standard conditions. In the spray characteristics, there was an increase in the spray angle up to 2 and a decrease in the Sauter Mean Diameter (SMD) to 1.312 mm, due to a decrease in the value of the fuel properties in the form of surface tension, viscosity, and density up to 2.6%, 10.28% and 10.15% from the standard state without magnetization. As a result of decreasing the density value, the mass flow rate of the fuel decreases to 10.28% from the standard conditions at 2,000 rpm.

Abstract

The electroencephalography (EEG) is a non-invasive technique to study electrical brain activity (while the brain is performing a cognitive task). The electrical brain activity is a complex process of electrical propagation because the brain structure is an incredibly complex structure. This complex structure leads to different conductivity properties in terms of its magnitude and orientation, called anisotropic conductivity. Using Maxwell's equations, electrical brain activity has been studied intensively. For simplification, the quasistatic Maxwell’s equations are used to model the electrical brain activity and it leads to deal with a Poisson’s equation. In this research, a feasibility study of using a new method, called Operator Splitting Method (OSM), to solve anisotropic 2-Dimensional (2D) Poisson’s equation is performed. Freeware of the finite element method (FEM), FreeFEM++, is employed to build matrices used in the OSM algorithm. The OSM algorithm which is written in Matlab is then tested to solve anisotropic 2D Laplace’s equation and anisotropic Poisson’s equation with the dipolar source. Afterward, the OSM solutions are validated by using an exact solution and a direct numerical solution. By using L2-Error Norm, the convergence rate of the OSM algorithm is then analyzed. Some numerical experiments have been performed to test the performance of the OSM algorithm. The OSM solution of anisotropic 2D Laplace’s equation coincides with the exact and direct numerical solution of the problem. For anisotropic 2D Poisson’s equation with dipolar source, some similar results have been obtained too. The pattern of the OSM solutions is similar to the pattern of direct numerical solutions of the problem. The results arise a hope to attempt to implement the OSM algorithm for more complex problems such as a realistic human head model.

Abstract

Desa Wanar terletak di Kecamatan Pucuk, Kabupaten Lamongan, Jawa Timur. Dengan jumlah penduduk yang terus bertambah, beberapa masalah lingkungan dan masalah sosial bermunculan. Masalah lingkungan terkait pembuangan sampah rumah tangga, sedangkan masalah sosial terkait semakin banyak anak-anak yang kecanduan game online sehingga mengganggu proses belajar. Rencana penyelesaian kedua masalah lingkungan dan sosial ini dirumuskan melalui program DESA KASI (seDEkah SAmpah untuk KAyakan literaSI). Tim abdimas melakukan pendampingan untuk pengolahan sampah rumah tangga sehingga sampah yang bernilai ekonomis akan dipisahkan dan dijual. Untuk mengurangi kecanduan game online, tim abdimas akan membuat perpustakaan keliling bagi anak-anak dan disediakan kupon berhadiah bagi pembaca buku di perpustakaan keliling. Untuk menunjang terlaksananya program ini, tim abdimas akan mendesain dan menyediakan Kendaraan Tiga (3) Roda Multiguna, yaitu kendaraan yang didesain untuk mengangkut sampah RT bernilai ekonomis dan juga bisa berganti fungsi menjadi perpustakaan keliling. Tim abdimas akan bekerjasama dengan mitra kelompok masyarakat Desa Wanar, yaitu Pemuda dan Jama’ah Ibu Masjid Al Mubarok Desa Wanar, TPA Al Mubarok, dan SDN Wanar. Dari Program DESA KASI ini, beberapa manfaat yang diharapkan adalah masyarakat mengetahui tata kelola sampah, mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan, meningkatkan minat baca anak-anak sekolah dasar sehingga mereka memiliki kekayaan literasi, mengurangi kecanduan game online bagi anak-anak, dan sebagai sarana pengabdian masyarakat bagi dosen dan KKN mahasiswa ITS. Selain itu, mitra lokal perlu berkolaborasi dengan Pemerintah Desa setempat untuk keberlangsungan Program DESA KASI.

Abstract

Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk menerapkan teknologi traktor tangan bertenaga listrik yang dapat membantu meningkatkan efisiensi dan produktivitas pada pengelolaan lahan pertanian. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan melakukan fabrikasi komponen mekanik dan elektrik dari traktor tangan bertenaga listrik. Fabrikasi tersebut meliputi pembuatan komponen mekanis seperti frame, cage wheel, under cover, battery and controller cover, motor mount, dan leveler, serta pembuatan komponen electric power train seperti electric motor, controller, battery pack, dan sprocket serta chain. Pembuatan traktor tangan bertenaga listrik dilakukan di workshop mobil listrik Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), kemudian produk diuji coba di lahan pertanian yang ada di desa Wanar, Lamongan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa traktor tangan bertenaga listrik ini memiliki performa yang baik dan mampu menghemat biaya pengelolaan lahan pertanian dengan signifikan. Dengan menggunakan teknologi ini, petani dapat mengurangi biaya operasional seperti penggunaan bahan bakar, perawatan mesin, dan penggantian suku cadang. Oleh karena itu, disarankan untuk terus melakukan pengembangan dan penelitian lebih lanjut dalam penggunaan traktor tangan bertenaga listrik sebagai alternatif pengelolaan lahan pertanian yang efisien dan ramah lingkungan.
