Abstract

Head injuries occupy the highest levels of morbidity and mortality, therefore it requires better understanding and management, especially regarding treatment. One of the most successful treatment for head injuries is structured first aid management, namely Airway, Breathing and Circulation. To find out factors related to the role of nurses in carrying out ABC management actions in head injury patients at the emergency department of Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin. This type of quantitative research with observational methods, using the Cross Sectional Study design, the sample is an executive nurse who provides ABC management to 34 people with head injury patients, taken by purposive sampling method, the data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank Test. The study found that there was statistical significance between ABC management with education levels (p = 0.004),length of employment (p = 0.000), emergency training (p = 0.000) and emergency facilities (p = 0.000).

Abstract

One factor in the success of handling head injuries is the speed and accuracy of handling. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the length of time of referral and the severity of head injury patients in Emergency Department of Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin. The research method was observational correlation with a cross sectional approach, the sample was head injury patients treated in the emergency room at Ulin District Hospital Banjarmasin as many as 52 people. Data were analyzed using the Spearman-Rho test. The results showed that patients with a referral time ≤ 1 hour 100% had a mild severity. Patients with a length of referral time >1 hour experienced moderate severity (41.2%), severe (35.3%), serious (17.6%), and mild (5.9%). There was a significant correlation between the length of time of referral and the severity of head injury patients and the strength of the correlation was strong.

Abstract

Background: One of the central services in hospitals is the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Where the ICU has nurses and special equipment intended for observation, care and therapy of patients suffering from critical, or potentially life-threatening illnesses with a prognosis that can still be expected. Patient and family satisfaction is a measure of service quality and the provision of care information in the ICU where one of the indicators is therapeutic communication. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a correlation between therapeutic communication and the level of family satisfaction of ICU patients at Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin. Method: This study uses an analytical research design with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were the entire patient's family in the ICU Room of Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin in May-June 2022. Sampling with saturated samples, totaling 69 respondents. Collecting data using a nurse therapeutic communication questionnaire and patient's family satisfaction with the Spearman Rank statistical test. Result: The results of statistical tests obtained p value (0.000) < (0.05) so it can be concluded that there is a correlation between therapeutic communication and patient family satisfaction in the ICU room at Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin with a spearman rank value of 0.670 which indicates a positive correlation direction and the relationship between the two variables very strong. Conclusion: nurses must have the ability to carry out good therapeutic communication so that patient family satisfaction continues to increase.

Abstract

The Intensive Care Unit is a special room for critically ill patients who require intensive care with or without hope for the patient to recover. In the patient's family, poor coping behavior will affect the way of communication and excessive behavior, thus affecting activities while waiting for patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between family spiritual coping and the level of anxiety of the patient's family in the ICU room. The research method was observational correlation with a cross sectional approach. The sample was the entire patient's family in the ICU Room as many as 69 respondents. Data were analyzed using the Spearman-Rho test. The results of statistical tests obtained p value (0.000) < (0.05) with a spearman rank value of - 0.660 which indicates the relationship both variables are very strong. So that the patient's family who has good spiritual coping also has mild anxiety.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Advokasi merupakan inti komitmen keperawatan yang bertindak untuk menjaga hak atas dasar asasi pasien. Peran ini sangat penting dalam hubungan perawat pasien karena menjadi tolak ukur untuk menunjang keberhasilan pengobatan pasien dan pelayanan kesehatan yang bermutu pada rumah sakit khususnya di ruang instalasi gawat darurat. Perawat instalasi gawat darurat dituntut untuk selalu melaksanakan perannya diberbagai situasi untuk melakukan tindakan penyelamatan pasien secara profesional. Akan tetapi, pelaksanaan peran advokasi oleh perawat masih kurang dipahami dan belum dilaksanakan secara optimal.Tujuan: Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan optimalisasi peran advokasi perawat instalasi gawat darurat.Metode: Jenis penelitian kuantitatif survei analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional, responden diambil dengan metode qouta sampling sebanyak 43 orang, dianalisa secara univariat dengan tabel distribusi frekuensi dan bivariat menggunakan uji statistik Spearman’s rho.Hasil: Penelitian ini didapatkan ada signifikansi statistik antara faktor pengetahuan (p=0,000), sikap (p=0,000), beban kerja (p=0,001), motivasi kerja (p=0,001), dan kondisi organisasi (p=0,000) dengan peran advokasi perawat (p value 0,05).Kesimpulan: Rumah Sakit perlu mempertahankan kebijakan yang mendukung peran advokasi perawat serta disarankan mengadakan pelatihan manajemen advokasi dan membentuk prosedural untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dalam melaksanakan peran advokasi perawat instalasi gawat darurat.
