Abstract

As part of the community that has household activities, this element of society also produces waste in the form of very much waste. Daily food waste and tree leaves are the most dominating among the community, posing a severe problem. One way to minimize the negative impact caused by domestic organic waste is to process the waste by involving the community. Waste management is a systematic, thorough and sustainable activity that includes waste reduction and handling. Waste management needs to be done comprehensively and integrated from upstream to downstream to provide economic benefits, be healthy for the community, and safe for the environment, and change people's behavior. One way to minimize the abundant amount of waste is to use organic waste to make compost. This method of community service implementation uses the participatory society method and the persuasive approach method. As a result of this activity, the community is very enthusiastic about managing organic waste into compost. In addition, people can cultivate vegetable crops at home by using homemade compost media. The community gets a positive value from this activity, namely a clean and healthy environment, and can be an economic value from processing organic waste into compost

Abstract

Corn is the second most important food commodity after rice. One of the mainstay commodities in the agricultural sector is corn, because corn is one of the staple foods in Indonesia which has an important position after rice. The objectives of this study are 1. to analyze the factors that influence corn production in Kemiri Timur Village, District, 2. To analyze the income of corn farmers in Kemiri Village, Subah District. The research method used is the Random Sampling method. Respondents in this study were 30 owner farmers. The data collection method used primary data and secondary data. The data analysis method used multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of multiple linear regression, the maize production mode in Subah District is as follows: Y = -2.237 – 0.751X2 + (-0,220)X3 + 0.194X4 + (-0.023)X5 + e. Based on the F-statistic of 133,218 with a significance of 0.000%, it means that simultaneously all production activities carried out including corn fields, labor, seeds and fertilizers have a significant effect on corn production in Subah District, Batang Regency. Partially, production activities that have a significant effect on income are land area and labor.Keywords : Corn Plants, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, Profit Analysis

Abstract

Urban forest development programs, urban parks and tree planting in residential  require tree maintenance to keep the view beautiful and not dangerous in case of rain. Tree pruning waste in residential areas poses environmental and social problems. Community empowerment activities at RW 02 Kalirungkut Surabaya aim to provide knowledge on how to manage tree pruning waste that is processed into useful compost in urban farming practices. The community empowerment program in managing tree pruning waste uses the Participatory Rapid Rural Appraissal and Rapid and Rural Appraissal methods. Inventory of problems and formulation of solutions is carried out in a short time but studies are carried out in depth and the community is directly involved in the preparation of implementation plans and evaluation of activities. The community of RW 02 Kalirungkut Surabaya was very enthusiastic in implementing the program and within 3 months the problem of disposing of waste tree pruning was resolved, and the community was able to harvest 15 cubic meters of compost. The community realizes that tree pruning waste can be used as compost which has economic value as an income for RW 02 Kalirungkut and can meet the compost needs for people who are practicing urban farming

Abstract

Community Service Activities (PKm) are carried out in the area of ​​RT 05 RW 9 Dukuh Kupang Timur, Pakis Village, Sawahan District, Surabaya City with the theme: GROWING A HEALTHY LIVING CULTURE WHILE EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE PRODUCTION OF HERBAL DRINKS WITH ECONOMIC VALUE. PKm activities aim to motivate the community to live healthy by consuming herbal drinks, as well as being used as a business field, especially for people affected by the Covid 19 pandemic changing their status to beneficiary families. Through this activity the community gains knowledge and skills in producing various kinds of healthy herbal drinks and implementing them as economically productive activities. The objectives of this activity are: a) Motivate the community to have a culture of healthy living. b) Transferring science and technology through counseling activities and entrepreneurship assistance by producing healthy herbal drinks that have economic value. c) Growing innovative and sustainable new entrepreneurs. Abstract

Community empowerment is a process to strengthen community independence in overcoming the problems faced. The Surabaya City Government, through the health Office, has initiated socialization activities and assistance in the use of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Health No. 9 of 2016. This program aims to educate the public about the benefits of using TOGA in overcoming minor health problems. In order to achieve this goal, the mothers of Surabaya Hebat cadres in Lidah Kulon play an important role by providing training and counseling on TOGA cultivation and processing. Participatory approach is used in mentoring methods, which involve the community actively in the planning and implementation of activities. The results of this activity include increasing public knowledge about TOGA, economic empowerment through processing TOGA products, and preservation of traditional knowledge. The success of this program is indicated by the improvement of people's quality of life, environmental awareness, and economic independence in the context of the use of medicinal plants. Thus, community service by Surabaya Hebat cadres in Lidah Kulon in TOGA cultivation and processing has succeeded in creating a positive impact in various aspects of local people's lives.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide assistance to the community in Ngadas Village, East Java, with the aim of increasing preference for agro-tourism in the Bromo-Tengger area. Ngadas Village has natural and cultural potential that can be developed as a tourism destination, but the utilization of this potential has not been optimal. Through community service programs, assistance is carried out by facilitating training, workshops, and participatory activities to increase community understanding and skills in developing agro-tourism. Participatory and collaborative approaches are used to involve the community in the planning and development process. It is hoped that through this assistance, the people of Ngadas Village can better understand the potential value of agro-tourism and are able to manage and market it in a sustainable manner. The results of this service are expected to make a positive contribution to improving the local economy and preserving culture in the region

Abstract

The community service, which was carried out at the Bakti Bapak Emak Islamic Boarding School Jombang, completed the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) activity for the highest number of durian (bido) seeds early grafting. Also Encourages sense of entreprenership for students at the Bakti Bapak Emak Islamic Boarding School, Jombang.so that early grafting of durian seeds can be developed into a business that not only aims to preserve local durian germplasm, but also becomes a business venture that is competitive, profitable and sustainable. To foster entrepreneurial motivation for the community and students at the Bakti Bapak Emak Islamic boarding school, it is carried out through extention activities about the importance of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship techniques, competitive strategies and modern marketing techniques with digital marketing. Assistance and direct demonstrations were also provided regarding Bido durian grafting techniques. The target of this activity is to increase the students' knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship and mastery of durian grafting techniques, as well as the adoption of sustainable cultivation practices. The implementation of this community service applies community participation methods, namely the Participatory Rapid Rural Appraissal (PRRA) and Rapid and Rural Appraissal (RRA) methods, which provide an opportunity for the implementing team to work together to plan, organize, implement and control the implementation of this community service activity. The output targets of this community service activity are: 1) Early grafting technology for durian seeds can be implemented 2) the growth of entrepreneurial spirit in students and the community.
