Abstract

Background: Pneumonia is an acute respiratory infection in which the alveoli are filled with pus and fluids that cause painful respiration and limit oxygen intake. Pneumonia is the main cause of death among children under five in the world, killing more than 800,000 children under five each year, or about 2,200 per day. One of the risk factors for pneumonia in children under five is exposure to secondhand smoke. This study aimed to estimate the magnitude of the effect of exposure to secondhand smoke on the incidence of pneumonia in children under five. Subjects and Method: This study used a systematic review and meta-analysis technique. There were three article search databases including Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Science Direct with a publication period from 2009-2020. The article search was carried out by considering the eligibility criteria defined using the PICO model. P: children under five, I: exposed to secondhand smoke, C: not exposed to secondhand smoke, and O: pneumonia. The keywords for searching the articles were (risk factors OR passive smoking OR secondhand smoking) AND (pneumonia) AND (children under five). The articles included in this study were full-text articles, articles in English, articles with cross-sectional study design and case-control, articles with adjusted odds ratio results. Articles were collected using PRISMA flow diagrams and analyzed using RevMan 5.3 application. Results: The total of 12 articles were reviewed in this study. A meta-analysis of three cross-sectional studies showed that exposure to secondhand smoke increased the risk of pneumonia in children under five (aOR= 1.66; 95% CI= 1.38 to 2.01; p <0.001). A meta-analysis of nine case-control studies showed that exposure to secondhand smoke increased the risk of pneumonia in children under five years (aOR= 2.15; 95% CI=1.25 to 3.68; p=0.005).Conclusion: Exposure to secondhand smoke increases the incidence of pneumonia in children under five. Keywords: The exposure to secondhand smoke, pneumonia, children under five.Correspondence: Maya Ayu Riestiyowati. Abstract

Abstract

Hospitals as health care facilities are needed not only in the service sector but also in the need for recording and documenting the results of examinations, treatment, actions, and other services that have been provided to patients which are recorded in medical record documents. every patient who receives medical services at the hospital will receive a medical record document to document his medical history. The increase in patient visits is sometimes not in line with the readiness of the hospital in fulfilling the facilities and supporting service tools. The study aimed to predict the number of patient visits. The type of research used is quantitative research and the sampling technique used is total sampling by looking at the data of the last 5 years of visits in the medical record unit and the analysis used is the ARIMA method in predicting visit data. Prediction results from patient visits for the next two years tend to fluctuate quite a lot with a total of 5163 patient visits in outpatients, with a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) value of 19% with the ARIMA model (2,1,2) which means that the prediction of visits patients can be quite accurate and reliable. So that in the future the hospital must be able to improve the facilities and quality of its services. So that the service process for visiting patients can be served effectively and efficiently. Keywords: Prediction, Patient Visit, ARIMA

Abstract

Antenatal depression or depression in pregnant women is influenced by various factors, one of which is the stressor of the social life of the household life, such as domestic violence. Domestic abuse during pregnancy has a negative impact on the mother's health as well as the newborn's and the child's development. The purpose of this study is to determine how much domestic violence affects antenatal depression. This study uses a meta-analytic study design from articles published from 2008 to 2022 using the Google Scholar, PubMed, Springer Link, and ScienceDirect databases. Articles are collected for 2 months by keywords (“Intimate Partner Violence” OR “IPV” OR “Domestic Violence”) AND “Antenatal Depression” OR “Antepartum Depression” AND (“adjusted odds ratio” OR “multivariable”). The articles used are articles that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. There were 14 articles from 3 continents namely Asia, Africa, and North America with cross sectional and cohort study designs. Cross-sectional meta-analysis shows that domestic violence can increase the incidence of antenatal depression by 3.97 times compared by not experiencing domestic violence (aOR= 3.97; 95% CI= 2.44 to 6.47; p<0.001). Meanwhile, the cohort study showed that domestic violence can increase the incidence of antenatal depression by 2.58 times compared to not experiencing domestic violence (aOR= 2.58; 95% CI= 2.06 to 3.23; p<0.001). Total heterogeneity shows I2 = 81%, such that it can be said that the data distribution is heterogeneous (random effect model). Domestic violence can increase the incidence of antenatal depression.
