Abstract

Education is a basic need of humanity and key element for the development of a nation. The population is increasing day by day and the main problem of education particularly in primary education is the increasing of number of students in the schools. So, the enrolment size of schools is increasing consistently. The effect of school enrolment size on the student’s achievement has been a major factor for the failure of the education system especially primary education. The purpose of this research is to discover the possible relations between the school enrolment size and student’s achievements. The data of four primary schools namely GPS Gaggu, GPS Samina, GPS Tagiani and GPS Yaroo has been selected to check the effect of school enrolment size on the student’s achievements. The results of the study indicate that as the enrolment size increased in the school, the achievements of the student’s decreased and vice versa.

Abstract

This research was based on classroom action research. The main objective of this research was to know the improvement in students writing skill in writing paragraph through an outline strategy. This research was done at fifth grade students of five Government Primary Schools located at D. G. Khan city. The participants of this research were 15 students of grade five. Such participants were selected through random sampling technique. The obtained data was analyzed in percentage. Pre-Test and Post-Test used as an instrument in this research. In both Pre-Test and Post-Test required items like paragraph title writing, grammar, spelling and total sentences (length) of paragraph were same. In Pre-Test, outline strategy in paragraph writing was not employed but in Post-Test such strategy was used. According to findings, in Pre-Test students writing paragraph were 20.00%, 26.66%, 20.00%, 26.66% (Good), 46.66%, 20.00%, 33.33%, 33.33% (Average), 33.33%, 53.33%, 46.66%, 40.00% (Weak) in paragraph writing title, proper use of grammar, correct spelling and total sentences (length) of paragraph, respectively. After Pre-Test, instructor taught participants about writing paragraph through an outline strategy for a period of 4 weeks and then conducted Post-Test. In this test, participants writing paragraph through an outline strategy were 46.66%, 53.33%, 60.00%, 53.33% (Good), 40.00%, 26.66%, 33.33%, 40.00% (Average), 13.33%, 20.00%, 6.66%, 6.66% (Weak) in paragraph writing title, proper use of grammar, correct spelling and total sentences (length) of paragraph, respectively. This action-based research demonstrated that outline strategy can improve the students writing skills.

Abstract

The quality of education is a significant element to develop a nation. A research based on survey method has been conducted to discover the causes of increasing admissions attitude of parents in private schools and to analyze the standards of private educational institutions. The research was designed on survey method by using comprehensive questionnaires for students, parents and teachers of private schools. Data was taken from the teachers, students and parents by questionnaires. Three private schools of district Dera Ghazi Khan were nominated for data collection. The questionnaires were containing 12 items for students, 19 items for parents and 9 items for teachers. The data was tabularized, interpreted and evaluated for results. The collected data was analyzed by percentage formula. The findings of research indicate that curriculum, facilities, teacher’s abilities, motivation to the students and examination systems of these private schools is adequate for most of the parents.

Abstract

The 21st century is also called the digital age. Various information and communication technological tools are available to increase the efficacy of teaching and learning process. A review study has been conducted to review the modern information and communication technological (ICT) tools and application of these ICT tools in teaching-learning process. The review of literature indicated that various ICT tools significantly improves the teaching-learning process. So, it is essential to apply the ICT tools in teaching-learning process to achieve the desired goals.

Abstract

A survey-based research has been conducted to reveal the impacts of using laptops at the university level. For this research BS Mathematics and BS Physics students both morning and evening session of Universities in South Punjab, Pakistan were taken as a population. The population consists of 240 students and 10 teachers of four Universities of South Punjab. The sample of 112 students and10 teachers was taken by Random sampling technique. Questionnaires and interviews were used as a research tool. The results of the study revealed that most of the students used the laptops for study purpose like making assignments on Microsoft word and presentations on the Power Point. The results of teacher’s questionnaires revealed that most of the teachers used laptops for the preparation of lecturer and for different academic activities.
