Abstract

Abstract: The University of Indonesia (UI) is the benchmark for all universities in Indonesia. The University of Indonesia has several faculties and general (supporting) areas. One of them is the Library as an educational area, the University of Indonesia Library is expected to have more advantages compared to other educational areas. The incomplete supporting functions in the University of Indonesia Library Area and the untapped potential such as the Kenanga Lake in the same area can be a topic in developing the design. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the user's perception of the function of open space which is qualitative in nature and to map the user's behavioral tendencies. This is to find out the guidelines for library landscape design based on visitors' perceptions of the function of open spaces, where the knowledge, experience, and needs of visitors will be used as the basis for measuring the design of the library landscape. This study used a qualitative method with stratified random sampling using a closed Likert scale (1-5) questionnaire with primary and secondary data collection. Thus, this research and landscape design is expected to create an educational environment that becomes a better place to learn.Abstrak: Universitas Indonesia (UI) menjadi acuan bagi seluruh perguruan tinggi di Indonesia. Universitas Indonesia memiliki beberapa fakultas dan umum (penunjang). Salah satunya Perpustakaan sebagai kawasan pendidikan, Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia diharapkan memiliki keunggulan lebih dibandingkan dengan kawasan pendidikan lainnya. Belum lengkapnya fungsi penunjang di Kawasan Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia dan potensi yang belum tergarap seperti Danau Kenanga di kawasan yang sama dapat menjadi topik dalam pengembangan desain. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji persepsi pengguna terhadap fungsi ruang terbuka yang bersifat kualitatif dan memetakan kecenderungan perilaku pengguna. Hal ini untuk mengetahui pedoman perancangan lansekap perpustakaan berdasarkan persepsi pengunjung terhadap fungsi ruang terbuka, dimana pengetahuan, pengalaman, dan kebutuhan pengunjung akan digunakan sebagai dasar pengukuran desain lansekap perpustakaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan stratified random sampling menggunakan kuesioner skala Likert tertutup (1-5) dengan pengumpulan data primer dan sekunder. Dengan demikian, penelitian dan desain lansekap ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan lingkungan pendidikan yang menjadi tempat belajar yang lebih baik.

Abstract

AbstractA new regular life change has occurred in the school environment. Teachers must be able to set an example to implement healthy behaviour, especially during a pandemic. The school environment has a significant role in changing health behaviour. The purpose of the service is to apply knowledge and provide education to educators, students, and school managers to cultivate herbal plants in the school environment in realizing the health of the school environment during the pandemic. The method used in implementing this service activity is the lecture method by providing counselling about the use of the school environment for the cultivation of herbal plants at the 65 Jakarta State Senior High School. The service results showed that the service activities at the 65 Jakarta State Senior High School were running smoothly, and the counselling took place online. This service activity will increase knowledge, insight, and educators, students, and school managers can understand the importance of implementing the school environment for cultivating herbal plants in realizing healthy behaviour changes during a pandemic. AbstrakPerubahan kehidupan normal yang baru ada pada lingkungan sekolah. Guru-guru harus bisa memberikan teladan agar bisa menerapkan perilaku sehat, terutama di masa pandemik. Lingkungan sekolah mempunyai andil yang cukup besar dalam mengubah perilkau sehat. Adapun tujuan pengabdian adalah menerapkan pengetahuan dan memberikan edukasi kepada para pendidik, peserta didik dan pengelola sekolah untuk dibudidayakan tanaman herbal di lingkungan sekolah dalam mewujudkan kesehatan lingkungan sekolah masa pandemi. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah metode ceramah dengan memberikan penyuluhan tentang pemanfaatan lingkungan sekolah untuk budidaya tanaman herbal di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 65 Jakarta. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 65 Jakarta berjalan lancar dan penyuluhan berlangsung secara daring. Kegiatan pengabdian ini akan meningkatkan pengetahuan, wawasan dan pendidik, peserta didik serta pengelola sekolah mampu memahami pentingnya penerapan lingkungan sekolah untuk budidaya tanaman herbal dalam mewujudkan perubahan perilaku sehat dalam masa pendemik.

Abstract

A team of lecturers from the Department of Environmental Engineering has researched waste treatment in quality, quantity, and operational terms in the tofu and tempeh industry and formulated a wastewater management model using appropriate and effective technology to support sustainable development. The results of processing tofu waste will be tested on vegetable plants with a hydroponic system. The problem is that the waste from the tofu industry pollutes the environment and is not utilized. This study aims to utilize liquid tofu waste as a hydroponic medium for vegetable plants. This research was carried out experimentally by making demonstration plots using a completely randomized design (CRD) method with three hydroponic media treatments and three replications. The three hydroponic media treatments were AB mix hydroponic media with the addition of 10% tofu waste which had been coagulated with moringa seed powder (Moringa oleifera); AB mix hydroponic media with the addition of 10% tofu waste which has been coagulated with tamarind seed powder (Tamarindus indica) and untreated AB mix hydroponic media. The plant growth factors to be measured are plant height and the number of leaves. The results showed that plant height and the number of leaves on Kangkung (water spinach, Ipomoea aquatica) treated with tofu waste, both coagulated moringa seed powder and tamarind seed powder, showed lower results than plants that were not treated. This can also be seen from the survival value of the treated Kangkung, which showed a value of 50% for the treatment of moringa seed powder and 67% for the treatment of tamarind seed powder. At the same time, the survival of the Kangkung plants that were not given treatment was 83%. It needs to be reviewed, especially from the BOD and COD values ​​of tofu waste solution, which are very influential on the growth of vegetable plants. It is necessary to do research again by fulfilling the nutritional requirements needed by plants to grow and thrive.
