Abstract

The phenomena that occur in prisoners are very complex such as loss of life satisfaction, hope, and independence, and they have limitations in social interaction. In addition, other phenomena often occur in prisoners, namely the dropping out of school because they have to undergo a period of detention (Kintamani, 2012). While in the socialization institution, they still get the right to enjoy proper education through equality education. As citizens learning equality education, they can also not be separated from the problems that prisoners often experience. Seeing this phenomenon, the author assumes that learning about citizens is important for subjective well-being and character strength. When citizens learn to have subjective well-being and character strength, they can have life productivity (Holder, 2012). This article is discussed using the literature review method by conceptualizing the grand theory and the results of previous research on subjective well-being and the strength of character combined in the learning process of equality education in social institutions. The purpose of this paper is to support research literature exploration of subjective well-being and exploration of character education

Abstract

This study aimed; 1) to investigate student responses toward the use of android-based media assisted by Smart Apps Creator for mathematics learning; 2) to investigate student self-regulated learning level; 3) to find out whether there was an effect using Android-based mathematics learning media assisted by Smart Apps Creator on student self-regulated learning. The study used an experimental method One-Shot Case research design. This study took the population of second-semester students in the Department of Management. The research samples were 2B MAN students chosen by random cluster sampling. The study showed that the percentage of average student responses to Android-based learning media assisted by Smart Apps Creator was very high, 88.08% and students' self-regulated learning was in a high category at 75.87%. The hypothesis test results indicated an effect of using Android-based mathematics learning media assisted by Smart Apps Creator on student self-regulated learning. The number of using android-based mathematics learning media on student self-regulated learning was 18.2%, the rest by other variables in this study. The researchers found the result of their research and concluded: 1) the average of student responses to the use of Android-based learning media assisted by Smart Apps Creator was 88.08% which is categorized powerful ad category; 2) the average of students’ self-regulated learning was 75.87% described as a strong category; 3) The results of hypothesis test showed there was an effect of using Android-based Mathematics learning media assisted by Smart Apps Creator on student self-regulated learning.

Abstract

The city of Banjarmasin is one of the riverbank areas, which every year accepts new college students from various regions every day. Adjustment to the new learning environment and system creates problems for new college students. This study describes the problems new college students face from the class of 2021 at Lambung Mangkurat University. This research was conducted using mixed methods with an explanatory sequential design. The research sample was selected by purposive sampling technique. Quantitative data was collected using a problem checklist, and qualitative data were obtained using counseling interviews. Quantitative data shows that in group analysis, new college students face problems in personal 44.9%, social 59.5%, career 59.5%, and academic 60.3%. Qualitative data collected using counseling showed that these students experienced personal and social problems. The social issues are 1) difficulty managing time; (2) lack of confidence; (3) harboring issues on their own, so they get stressed quickly, (4) overthinking, (5) relationships with parents that are not good; (6) unhealthy friendships or toxic relationship; (7) there is a misunderstanding with peers; and (8) difficulty adapting to the class schedule and new environment. Problems in these two fields have an impact on the academic field, making students less motivated to learn because of the mismatch between the desires and the majors studied, difficulty dividing time, and difficulty adapting to a new environment, coupled with problems that make new students feel stressed and depressed with their study activities.
