Abstract

This research is motivated by the author's interest in advertising language. Where advertising is one of the communication tools used to attract consumen or invite the audience to buy a product. This is what interests the author to analyze the relationship between text and context in advertisements. The sentences contained in advertisements on television are used as a source of research, because in advertisements on television there are texts and contexts that are used to make it easier for audience to understand the intent or purpose of the advertisements they watch. This is intended so as not to be wrong in buying or consuming a product. The problem of this research is how is the relationship between text and context contained in advertisements on television. This study aims to determine the relationship of text and context in advertising on television. The data collected by the researcher will be described, analyzed, and concluded in detail so that it can be see how the relationship between text and context in television advertisements is. Researchers divides advertisements into three categories, namely advertisements for food products, beverage products and beauty products. The theory used in this study is the theory of the relationship between text and context proposed by Wijana and Rohmadi (2009). The method used is descriptive qualitative research method. The data sources of this study were obtained from advertisements that aired on television stations, namely: SCTV, RCTI, Trans 7, ANTV, TRANS TV, INDOSIAR, and GTV. The technique used is by listening to the advertisements that appear on television, then browsing on YouTube on the internet network to make it clearer in terms of sound, being able to repeat when observing the advertisement images, and making it easier to analyze the data. The results of the study indicate that there is an appropriate relationship between text (speech) and context (state/situation) in advertisements for food, beverage and beauty products. Where the text (speech) spoken is in accordance with the situation described. In addition to the relationship, this study also succeeded in finding food and beverage product advertisements where the text and context were not related. This is because the text (speech) is not in accordance with the context (state/situation) described. Finally, the research shows that there is an advertisement in which the text (speech) and context (state/situation) have no relationship. This is indicated by the text (speech) that is not in accordance with the context (state/situation) described.

Abstract

Nandung is a song or poem that contains advice, trust, religious messages to be sung to children. Nandung in Peranap sub-district has become a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation by mothers when putting their children to sleep, during bathing, akikah, and circumcision events. This research is motivated by several things, including the meaning contained in the poetry of the arts of the people of Peranap District, Indragiri Hulu Regency in semiotic studies. The problem that is taken in this research is how the semiotics contained in the nandung art poetry of the Peranap Subdistrict, Indragiri Hulu Regency, the theory used in this study is Pierce's theory which includes (1) icons, (2) indexes, (3) symbols. The approach used is a qualitative approach, the type of research used is field research. The method used is descriptive method, the technique used is hermeneutic technique. The result of this research is that there is a semiotic study of the aspects of icons, indices, and symbols in the Nandung Arts poetry of the Peranap sub-district community.

Abstract

The novel Ingkar Karya Boy Candra the researcher examines the value of character education which includes faith and piety, honesty, intelligence, toughness, caring contained in the novel. This research method is descriptive method. The technique used in this research is reading technique, note-taking technique and conclusion technique. research results show. The Value of Character Education in Boy Candra's Ingkar Novel in the aspect of Faith and Piety contains 9 data. The value of character education contained in the Ingkar Novel by Boy Candra in the Honesty aspect contained 7 data. The value of character education contained in the Ingkar Novel by Boy Candra in the Peduli aspect contained 10 data. The Value of Character Education in the Novel Ingkar Karya Boy Candra in the aspect of toughness there are 4 data and the value of character education contained in the Novel Ingkar Karya Boy Candra in the aspect of intelligence. Based on all the data, it is known that the value of character education contained in the novel Ingkar by Boy Candra was nominated by aspects of caring and faith and piety

Abstract

Every story is built by context. Without context, there is no story because the context of the discourse builds it. Every reading, one of which is novel reading, is built by context. Context is used to understand a story, because context determines the meaning of speech so that it can interpret the situation or scope of language in discourse. The problem in this research is how the discourse context in the novel Selembar Itu Means is Suryaman Amipriono's work related to the setting and scene, participants, message, key, instrument, norms. , and what kind (genre)? The purpose of this research is to describe, analyze, and interpret the discourse context in Suryamana Amipriono's novel Selembar Itu Means. The theory used in this research is a theory in which there is a discourse context as stated by Hymes in Darma (2013) and other supporting theories. The source of data in this study is the source of written data, namely the novel Selembar Itu Berarti by Suryaman Amipriono. The data in this study are elements of discourse context. The method used in this research is descriptive method, qualitative approach, this type of research is a library (Library Research). Data collection techniques using hermeneutical techniques. The results of this study found eight elements of context in the novel Selembar Itu Means by Suryaman Amipriono, namely (1) forty-seven settings and scenes, (2) twenty-three participants, (3) the results (ends) were found as many as fifteen data, (4) the message (message) was found as many as twenty-three data, (5) how (key) was found as many as nineteen data, (6) the means (instrument) was found as much as one data, 7) twelve data found norms (norms), (8) one data type (genre) was found. It can be concluded that in Suryaman Amipriono's novel Selembar Itu Mean, there are eight elements of discourse context. In a novel, it is very rare to find no eight elements of discourse context. Because the context of discourse is the most important element in building a story.

Abstract

Literary work as an imaginary, fiction that offers a variety of human and human problems, life and life. One form of literary work is novel. In Awang Surya's novel Pak Guru, there are various kinds of conflicts. Research problems: (1) How is the conflict between the characters in the novel Pak Guru by Awang Surya? (2) How do the authors present the character conflicts in the novel Pak Guru by Awang Surya? This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of library research and uses descriptive methods. The data source used is the novel Pak Guru by Awang Surya consisting of 48 chapters and 328 pages. Data collection techniques through hermenuetic techniques, namely read, note and summarize. In analyzing the data, it refers to various relevant theories, namely using the theory of Nurgiyantoro (2009 and 2013) about character conflict and using the theory of Sukada (1993) about how the author expresses character conflict. The results of the study concluded that the conflicts contained in the novel Pak Guru by Awang Surya were (1) internal conflict and external conflict. The internal conflicts experienced by the figures of Musa and Nasimah, the external conflicts occurred with the figures of Musa and SDN teachers, Musa and Pak Sarkowi, Musa with Alfan, Musa with Bu Eni, Musa with Nasimah. (2) The author's way of expressing character conflict in an analytical and dramatic manner. Keywords: Literature, Conflict, Internal, External, Analytical, Dramatic

Abstract

Pendampingan sistem manajemen sekolah dengan adanya Technology Awareness di laksanakan di salah satu sekolah penggerak di Dumai yaitu SMP Negeri 13 Dumai . Pelaksanaan pendampingan sistem manajemen sekolah ini bertujuan untuk meberikan pendampingan kepada guru-guru di SMP Negeri 13 Dumai untuk pemanfaatan technology awareness yang tersedia di sekolah tersebut yaitu dengan kegiatan yang ditawarkan kepada mitra adalah: 1. Memberikan pengetahuan dasar tentang manajemen sekolah yang berdasarkan technology awareness. 2. Perbaikan manajemen sekolah melalui: pelatihan pembuatan, penyajian laporan keuangan dan pelatihan strategi pemasaran sekolah, laporan yang terjadwal, laporan khusus, dan analisis situasi masalah. 3. Latihan pengetahuan tentang basic technology yang diperlukan mitra dalam hal ini SMP Negeri 13 Dumai . Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode ceramah, workshop, dan pendampingan. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan mengobservasi keterampilan staff, guru, pustakawan, dan laboran dalam penguasaan tehnologi yang sudah diimplementasikan di SMP Negeri 13 Dumai . Hasil yang dicapai dalam pengabdian ini adalah peningkatan kemampuan technology awareness di tingkat manajemen SMP Negeri 13 Dumai yang dapat diukur dari tiga faktor utama.
