Low production of breast milk is one of the matters of breastfeeding. Some breastfeeding mothers complain that their milk production has not come out. Whereas, exclusive breastfeeding can protect babies from dangerous diseases. The purpose of this study was to analyze the benefits of soybeans, dates, and katuk leaves to increase breast milk production in breastfeeding mothers. This research was a systematic review review based on the Reporting Item Options for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocol (PRISMA Protocol). Screening was carried out on publications (2014-2019) from electronic data sources, namely PubMed, Google Sholar and Elsevier. Furthermore, selecting journals based on the criteria and obtained as many as 7 journals. The result of this study was most studies prove that soybeans, dates, and katuk leaves can be consumed by breastfeeding mothers and provide benefits for fulfilling nutrition for breastfeeding mothers.Consumption of soybeans, dates, and katuk leaves can be applied by health practitioners to intervene in breastfeeding mothers to increase milk production.

Abstract

Breast milk production that is less or not smooth is a problem that is often experienced by postpartum mothers. That is due to lack of nutritional intake and lack of therapy to facilitate milk production. Giving soybeans, oxytocin massage and back massage are ways to increase breast milk production. The search for articles in this systematic literature review uses 6 databases with a time start from 2015-2020. The articles using Indonesian and English. The inclusion criteria were postpartum mothers, the interventions given were using soybean, oxytocin massage, and back massage. The measurement results are in the form of breast milk production. The designs used in the article search are True Experiment and Quasy Experiment. The preparation of this systematic literature review uses the PRISMA guideline. Analysis of data from a systematic literature review, 17 studies were eligible for identification, 6 studies were true experiments and 11 studies were quasy experiments. The intervention soybean containing isoflavone showed statistically significant results on breastmilk production with p value < 0.05. The intervention oxytocin massage showed significant results on breastmilk production with p value <0.05. Intervention back massage showed significant results on breastmilk production with p value <0.05. intervention OKPU massage showed significant results on breastmilk production with p value <0.05. Interventions with soy, oxytocin massage, back massage and OKPU massage have a positive effect on breastmilk production. Oxytocin massage and OKPU massage proved more effective based on significance value and effect size.

Abstract

One of the causes of maternal death is preeclampsia. Preeclampsia and eclampsia are caused by factors that decrease serum albumin (hypoalbuminemia) which causes a decrease in intravascular hypovolemic pressure. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of snakehead fish extract and acupressure on albumin levels and blood pressure in pregnant women with preeclampsia. The research method is a non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design study and was conducted at a health center in Central Java, Indonesia. A sample of 30 subjects; 15 subjects in the experimental group, and 15 subjects in the control group. The experimental group was given snakehead fish extract 2x 500 mg every day for 14 days and acupressure at points GV 20, Li 3, and Ki 3 6 times for 14 days. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure measurements were performed on day 1 and day 14. Data analysis used paired parametric t test. The results showed that snake head extract and acupressure for 14 days had a significant decrease in diastolic from 12 mmHg to 10.66 mmHg (p=0.000), while in the control group there was no decrease in systolic blood pressure of 0.667 (p=0.670) and systolic blood pressure was 0.667 (p=0.670). pressure 0.667 (p=0.670). diastolic 2.66 p=0.041. In the experimental group there was an increase in albumin levels of 1.12 (p = 0.000. In the control group, albumin levels were -0.14 before and after the measurement did not affect albumin levels with a value of p = 0.082. Giving snakehead fish extract and acupressure at the KI 3 point, LV3, and GV 20 were effective in increasing albumin levels and lowering blood pressure in preeclamptic women.
