Abstract

Abstract Mathematics is a science with a broad concept. The breadth of concepts in mathematics, does not rule out the possibility that these concepts are interrelated. For example, in studying linear equations with one variable, students must first know the concept of algebraic operations. This study aims to describe the concept of mathematical connection ability, describe the learning strategies used to improve the mathematical connection skills of junior high school students, and provide an overview of learning designs to improve mathematical connection skills for junior high school students. The method used by the author is a literature review method. Based on the studies conducted, it can be concluded that the ability of mathematical connection is the ability of students to relate between topics in mathematics and then mathematics topics with other sciences or with everyday life. The strategy or model used in learning mathematics is an important part for an educator in planning learning designs that will be applied in the learning process. Therefore, it is important for further researchers to apply existing strategies or models to different materials, so that they can be studied further about students' connection abilities in the learning process. Abstract

Technological developments in the field of education require teachers to be more creative in creating technology-based learning media by utilizing Android. Therefore, this study aims to develop an Android on the material of a two-variable linear equation system for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Kupang that is valid, practical and effective. The method used in this research is the R&D method and the model used is the ADDIE development model. The data collection techniques and instruments used are interviews, questionnaires and tests. The data analysis techniques used are field study analysis techniques, validity analysis techniques, practicality analysis techniques and effectiveness analysis techniques. The results showed that the developed media met the criteria of being valid, practical and effective. The average total validity by material experts is 4.58, practitioners are 4.65 and media experts are 4.25, “very valid”. The average total practicality of the teacher is 4.75 and the students where in the small class trial is 4.63, in the large class trial it is 4.43 "very practical". The percentage of completeness in small group trials obtained results of 100% "very effective", in large group trials obtained results of 81.25%, so android-based learning media is very feasible to use

Abstract

Technology in education demands innovative and creative learning by utilizing android smartphones to improve student learning outcomes. Therefore, this study aims to develop and produce an android-based application on algebraic form material to improve student learning outcomes for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 8 Kupang that is valid, practical, and effective and to find out teacher and student responses to the application.The method used in this study is the Research and Development (R&D) research method and the model used for ADDIE development which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation andevaluation (evaluation). Data collection techniques used are interviews, questionnaires and learning outcomes tests. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis.The results showed that the Algebra Learning Application met the valid, practical and effective eligibility criteria and was able to improve student learning outcomes. The average total validity by material experts is 4.01, education practitioners are 4.23, and media experts are 4.66, with the "valid" category. The average total practicality of the teacher is 4.81 and that of the students in the small group is 4.2, while in the large group is 4.62 with the "practical" category. The percentage of mastery learning using learning media is 83.33% in the "effective" category. There was an increase in interest and completeness of student learning outcomes which initially increased from 40% to 83.33% so that the Algebra Learning application was very feasible to use. Abstract

This review aims to describe the model, characteristics, and design of blended learning, to describe the trend of research blended learning in supporting the development of students' mathematical thinking skills and to provide recommendations for blended learning in supporting the development of students' mathematical thinking skills in the future. The method used in this paper is an article review method which is carried out in three stages, namely identifying keywords related to blended learning in developing mathematical thinking skills, article search strategies, and analyzing articles. Blended learning is a combination of learning patterns, between face-to-face learning and online learning. The trend of Blended learning is carried out with online learning and face-to-face learning in class is carried out alternately (rotational model), using various LMS. The results of the article analysis show that the blended learning stage can develop students' mathematical thinking skills, namely the seeking of information stage students are directed to think critically. At this stage students are more motivated and independent in finding or accessing materials online. Then at the stage of acquisition of information and synthesizing of knowledge, students are directed to solve problems, use mathematical understanding skills, reasoning, connection and representation skills, communication and collaboration, and think critically through discussions, presentations, and work on practice questions. In addition, students look more enthusiastic and motivated because it is adjusted to their learning style and learning speed and students are directed to be independent in learning the material. The researcher recommends a blended learning design using the flipped classroom model with online learning using the Moodle LMS in which each stage of blended learning, students are directed to rely on mathematical thinking skills. Abstract

Therefore, this study aims to develop and produce an Android-based mathematics learning media using smart apps creator on the material for geometry transformation for class IX of SMP Negeri 15 Kupang City that is valid, practical and effective. The method used in this research is the Research and method Development (R&D) and the models used in the development process this learning media is the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis (analysis), design (design), development (development), implementation (implementation) and evaluation (evaluation). The result showed that the learning media developed met the eligibility criteria that were valid, practical and effective. The average total validity by material experts is 4.5 and media experts is 4.3 with the “very valid” category. The average total practicatility of the teacher was 4.71 and the students in the small group trial was 4.51, in the large group trial 4.43 with the “very practical” category. The percentage of completeness in the small group trial obtained 100% results with the category “very effective” , in the large group trial the results obtained 82.14% with the category “very effective”. So that android-based learning media is very feasible to use.

Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematics in community farming activities in the Tobu subdistrict and to develop learning tools according to the mathematical concepts found. This research was conducted in Tobu village, Tobu subdistrict with 4 informants. The type of research used is in the form of exploratory qualitive research with an ethnographic design. The results this study indicate that there is ethnomahematics in community farming activities in the Tobu subdistrict in the form of counting, measuring, locating, designing and explaining activities. Mathematical concepts related to community farming activities in the Tobu subdistrict include repeated addition or multiplication, geometry, coordinate systems, number patterns, geometric transformations, comparisons, arithmetic sequences and sets. Thus, various mathematical concepts contained in farming activities can be used as a reference in the development of mathematics learning tools in schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan matematika dalam aktivitas berladang masyarakat di kecamatan Tobu serta menyusun perangkat pembelajaran sesuai konsep matematika yang ditemukan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Tobu, Kecamatan Tobu dengan informan sebanyak 4 orang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan berupa penelitian kualitatif eksploratif dengan desain etnografi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat etnomatematika dalam aktivitas berladang masyarakat di kecamatan Tobu berupa aktivitas menghitung, mengukur, melokalisir, merancang dan menjelaskan. Konsep matematika yang terkait dengan aktivitas berladang masyarakat di kecamatan Tobu meliputi penjumlahan berulang atau perkalian, geometri, sistem koordinat, pola bilangan, transformasi geometri, perbandingan, barisan aritmatika dan himpunan. Dengan demikian, berbagai konsep matematika yang terdapat dalam aktivitas berladang dapat dijadikan sebagai referensi dalam pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran matematika di sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menghasilkan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis android menggunakan smart apps creator pada materi geometri transformasi kelas IX SMP Negeri 15 Kota Kupang yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Research and Development (R&D) serta model yang digunakan dalam proses pengembangan media pembelajaran ini adalah model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari 5 tahapan yaitu analisis (analysis), desain (design), pengembangan (development), implementasi (implementation) dan evaluasi (evaluation). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria kelayakan yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Rata-rata total kevalidan oleh ahli materi adalah 4.5 dan ahli media adalah 4.3 dengan kategori “sangat valid”. Rata-rata total kepraktisan dari guru adalah 4.71 dan peserta didik pada uji coba kelompok kecil adalah 4.51, pada uji coba kelompok besar 4.43 dengan kategori “sangat praktis”. Persentase ketuntasan pada uji coba kelompok kecil diperoleh hasil 100% dengan kategori “sangat efektif”, pada uji coba kelompok besar diperoleh hasil 82.14% dengan kategori “sangat efektif”, sehingga media pembelajaran berbasis android sangat layak untuk digunakan.
