Abstract

A new student or better known as new student is someone who has just entered the stage / process of gaining knowledge or learning and administratively has just been recorded as having attended a university (Hartaji, 2012). The large number of activities during the initial period of lectures that must be completed triggers new students to pressure themselves to be able to carry out activities properly to fulfill the assigned tasks within 24 hours. This phenomenon causes new students to experience fatigue and the risk of experiencing stress, which affects the quality of their sleep. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between stress levels and sleep quality in new students of the D3 study program, Jember University, Pasuruan City Campus. This research design used cross sectional method. The population of this study was 107 people with a sample of 107 people who were taken by total sampling. Statistical test using the Sperman Rank test. The results showed that the stress level of new students was a mild stress level of 52 people (48.4%). The sleep quality of new students was poor sleep quality as many as 54 people (50%). Based on statistical tests, the results obtained p value 0.012 <α 0.05 with a correlation coefficient of 0.226, which means that there is a weak positive relationship between stress levels and sleep quality in new students of D3 study program, Jember University, Pasuruan City Campus. This result was possible because during this pandemic, students had to undergo new learning methods for them, namely online learning models that required them to master IT well. In addition, the number of assignments given by lecturers online takes a lot of time to complete, so that it affects the quality of student sleep. So, the role of nurses as counselors and educators is needed to provide counseling and education about stress management and sleep needs management for new students of the D3 study program, Jember University, Pasuruan City Campus. Abstract

Pneumonia is inflammation of the lungs that results in increased production of secretions. If it is not balanced with the individual's ability to excrete secretions, it will interfere with the effectiveness of the airway. This study aim to determine the effect of chest physiotherapy on the effectiveness of the airway in children with pneumonia. A quasi-experimental design was adopted for the study. Purposive sampling technique was adopted to select 18 samples for the study, 9 samples each for the experimental (chest physiotherapy) and control (SOP) groups. The effects were assessed using airway effectiveness observation sheet. The data obtained were analyzed by means of a dependent and independent T-test.The study showed that there were a significant in the mean of airway effectiveness score before and after the procedure in both groups (p 0.007 <0.05). However, in experimental group the decrease of airway effectiveness scores were more significant. The results of the independent T-test obtained p 0.04 (<0.05) so that it was concluded that there was an effect of chest physiotherapy on the effectiveness of the airway in children with pneumonia in the Children's Room at Bangil Hospital. Chest physiotherapy, which combines postural drainage, vibration and percussion techniques, is useful for treating airway clearance disorders in children who have not been able to cough effectively. In practice, chest physiotherapy can be combined with other technique according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) applied by the hospital. Keywords: Chest Physiotherapy, Effectiveness of the Airway, Pneumonia

Abstract

The covid-19 outbreak has occurred all over the world and has claimed lives since early 2020 until it was declared sloping in May 2022, but in early June 2022 there was an increase in daily confirmed cases of Covid-19. By blocking the gust of virus particles into the surrounding air, masks keep the virus from spreading. Proper hand hygiene can prevent respiratory and digestive diseases. Pregnant women are made a vulnerable group at risk of being infected with Covid-19 due to physiological changes during pregnancy. Cases of pregnant women reported in 2021 with the criteria for suspect, probable and even confirmed Covid-19 have increased (Dinkes, 2022). pregnant women are one of the groups who are not given the Covid-19 vaccination, do not include pregnant women in the target 4 recipients of the Covid-19 vaccination. Therefore, the thing that can be done is to optimize efforts to prevent Covid-19 in pregnant women, to prevent mortality in mothers and babies. Based on the results of a survey conducted after this outreach activity, the compliance of respondents in the obedient category was 55% and the non-compliance category was 45%. The description of anxiety based on education with the highest frequency is respondents with high school education as many as 25 respondents (33.3%). The description of anxiety based on work with the highest frequency is respondents who work as IRT as many as 27 respondents (36.0%). This is possible because of the mother's educational background. Abstract

Background: Stunting is a condition where a baby or toddler experiences chronic malnutrition which has an impact on the child's low height. Participatory Learning Approach (PLA) is an alternative learning model that is used to increase the active participation of participants. This study aims to determine the effect of the Participatory Learning Approach (PLA) method in increasing mothers' knowledge in stunting prevention. Methods: The design of this study was quasi-experimental, with a pre and post test approach with a control group design. Respondents to this study were 50 mothers and prospective mothers who were divided into the intervention group (n=27) and the control group (n=23). The sampling technique used is convenience sampling. Respondents were invited to take part in a one-day learning program called Stunting Awareness Day (3S). In the 3S program, the intervention group was given health education using the PLA method, while the control group was given the traditional lecture method. This questionnaire is used to measure respondents' knowledge of stunting prevention before learning (pretest) and after learning (posttest). The data obtained were analyzed using paired t test and independent t test. Results: The results of this study showed that there was a significant difference between participatory learning methods and traditional approaches in increasing mothers' knowledge about stunting prevention (p = 0.002≤0.05), the increase in knowledge in the intervention group was more significant than the control group. Conclusions: The PLA and lecture learning methods can be used to increase respondents' knowledge in stunting prevention.
