Abstract

Kahoot application in learning can also help teachers to collect feedback from students, assess students’ learning understanding, and make surveys about problems that can be identified during learning. This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of using Kahoot! application as an evaluation tool in Arabic vocabulary learning for fifth-grade students at MI Al-Ma’arif 01 Margomulyo, Blitar. This research was qualitative with a One Group Pretest Posttest design – an experiment carried out in one group only without comparison. The samples of this research were the fifth-grade 25 students of MI Al-Ma'arif 01 Margomulyo Blitar. The results showed that the average evaluation score of the students after using Kahoot! application as a learning media increased by 75.2, much higher than before, it was 37.6. The use of Kahoot! application as an evaluation tool in Arabic vocabulary learning contributed 32% to the learning outcomes of the fifth-grade students at MI Al-Ma'arif 01 Margomulyo.

Abstract

The goal of this research was to explain how to develop a word root-based digital dictionary for shorof mastery to make it easier for language learners in recognizing word root and meaning in the use of dictionaries as well as to find meaning of each or some vocabularies in the text. The research method used in this study was Research and Development, using the ADDIE model which includes five stages, namely (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The subjects were college students and students of Al-Khoirot Islamic Boarding School Malang. The data collection techniques were observation, interview, and questionnaire. This development research data analysis technique used two data analysis techniques, namely qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis. The qualitative data is in the form of data identification, data grouping, data presentation and explanation, and conclusion. While the quantitative data is a percentage analysis technique in analyzing quantitative data. The results of this development were in the form of a word root-based digital dictionary for shorof mastery that has six displays, which are preface, instructions for use, dictionary, exercises, references, and developers. The assessment by students and college students reached an average score of 94.7% which is valid category. Hence, it can be concluded that this digital dictionary is feasible to use at any time in learning Arabic and students are able to learn independently wherever they are.

Abstract

This present research was aimed at describing (1) the learning of reading Arabic using Memrise and (2) the effect of the use of Memrise on the reading skills among the seventh-grade students at MTsN (State Islamic Junior High School) 1 Malang City. Reading in this present research is learning to read vocabulary and sentences. This research adopted a quantitative approach where the subjects were the seventh grades E and H students at MTsN 1 Malang City in learning Arabic using Memrise. The students were asked to learn online independently. The data were obtained from the test results. The data source was respondents from the students of seventh Grades E and H. The research instruments were pretests and posttestsposttests. The data analysis technique used was the t-test. The results showed the following: (1) the learning of reading Arabic using Memrise was carried out through the following steps: learning the material, pronouncing words, interpreting words according to pictures, and doing quizzes. (2) Based on the results of the t-test, it can be concluded that using Memrise in learning Arabic can positively affect students' reading skills. Keywords: Reading skills, Memrise. الملخص يهدف هذا البحث الحالي إلى وصف (1) تعلم قراءة اللغة العربية باستخدام ميمريس و (2) تأثير استخدام ميمريس على مهارات القراءة بين طلاب الصف السابع في المدرسة الثانوية الحكومية الأولى مالانج. تعلم القراءة المشار إليه في هذا البحث هو قراءة المفردات والجمل. اعتمد هذا البحث نهجًا كميًا حيث كان الموضوع طلاب الصف السابع E و H في المدرسة الثانوية الحكومية الأولى مالانج في تعلم اللغة العربية باستخدام ميمريس. طُلب من الطلاب التعلم عبر الإنترنت بشكل مستقل. تم الحصول على البيانات من نتائج الاختبار. كان مصدر البيانات عبارة عن مستجيبين من طلاب الصف السابع E و H. كانت أدوات البحث عبارة عن اختبارات تمهيدية وبعدية. كانت تقنية تحليل البيانات المستخدمة هي اختبار T. أظهرت النتائج ما يلي: (1) تم تعلم قراءة اللغة العربية باستخدام ميمريس من خلال الخطوات التالية ، وهي تعلم المادة ، ونطق الكلمات ، وتفسير الكلمات وفقًا للصور ، وإجراء الاختبارات القصيرة. (2) بناءً على نتائج اختبار t ، يمكن استنتاج أن استخدام ميمريس في تعلم اللغة العربية يمكن أن يكون له آثار إيجابية على مهارات القراءة لدى الطلاب. الكلمات الرئيسية: مهارة القراءة, ميمريس
