Abstract

Anatomi pandan rasau diperoleh panjang serat 1,56 mm, diameter serat 11,10μm, diameter lumen 15,00 μm, tebal dinding sel 2,50 μm. Nilai turunan serat pandan rasau yaitu Runkel Ratio 0,74, Daya Tenun (Slendernes) 140.54, Muhsteph Ratio 166,46%, Coefficient of Rigidity 0,20, Flexibility coefficient 0,61. Berdasarkan komponen kimia dan kualitas seratnya pandan rasau dapat dijadikan bahan baku pulp dan kertas.

Abstract

The waste of candlenut shells and empty sugar palm bunches has considerable potential and can be used as raw material for charcoal briquettes. This study aims to analyze the properties of charcoal from a mixture of candlenut shells and palm sugar bunches on the physical properties of the charcoal briquettes produced. To determine the effect of the mixture of candlenut charcoal shells and sugar palm empty fruit bunches, treatment of 100% candlenut shells, 100% sugar palm empty bunches, 75% candlenut shells + 25% sugar palm empty bunches, 75% empty sugar palm bunches + 25% candlenut shells, 50% candlenut shell + 50% sugar palm bunches, the adhesive used is tapioca flour. Charcoal briquettes produced by the water content ranged from 7.568% - 11.734%, density 0.520g / cm³ - 0.604g / cm abu, the average ash content ranged from 15% - 22.666%, flying substance content 43.666% - 52%, bound carbon ranged from 17,335% - 44,098%, and calorific value 3676,86kal / g - 4749,606kal / g. The water content that meets ASTM is found in treatment A (100% hazelnut shell) of 7.568%, other treatments do not meet ASTM standards. Density, ash content, fly substance content, bound carbon and calorific value produced from various treatments none meet the standard. Keywords: Aren empty bunches charcoal briquettes; candlenut shell briquettes; influence of physical and chemical properties; ASTM standards

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the utilization of sago tree, production of sago starch, and analyze its quality.  Sampling was carried out in Salimuran Village, Kusan Hilir District, Tanah Bumbu Regency.   The data of utilization and production of sago are collected by interview and discussion with Sago workers.  The quality of sago starch is measured based on SNI 3451-2001 and SNI 3751-2009for carbohydrates, proteins and water content, and SII No. 0418-81-2001 for sugar content. The part of the plant that is used by the Salimuran village community is sago starch for food, leaves for roofing materials and bark for fuel wood. Sago with a length of 6 m and a diameter of 50-60 cm can produce as much as 6-7 sacks of starch or equivalent to 89 - 91 kg. Sago starch from Salimuran village contains carbohydrates of 48.92%, sugar content of 54.34%, protein 0.67% and water content of 4.10%. This data shows that only the water content is in accordance with the standard (SNI).Keywords: Sago; utilization; production; quality; and Salimuran Village

Abstract

Aim of the was analyze quality of kelulut (Trigona sp) generated from the village of Mangkauk sub-district of Banjar Regency is a wide including moisture content, ash levels, reducing sugars, sucrose, sugar levels of acidity, solids is insoluble in water, lead, copper and arsenic. This research procedure using the honey quality test based on SNI 01-3545-2004. Research on the quality of honey owned by honey farmers from Mangkauk Village fulfills SNI 01-3545-2004, i.e. the levels of sucrose, solid is soluble in water, lead, copper, and arsenic, the results of the analysis of honey that does not meet SNI (01-3545-2004), the moisture content, reducing sugar levels and acidity content. Keywords: The qualities of honey kelulut; the water level; Acidity levels reducing sugar

Abstract

This study aims to determine charcoal briquette value and nutrient content of compost derived from land clearing waste on peat land in an effort to control forest and land fires that occured on peatlands. This research was carried out in a wetland area located in North Landasan Ulin, Liang Anggang sub-district, Banjar Regency because each year this location always experiences forest fires, because there are land clearing activities for plantation and agricultural activities by the community as a whole and integrated various aspects. The object of this study is Bricket and compost that made from land cleaning waste such as tree stumps, branches and twigs that used for briquette, while ferns, litter and grass were used to make compost. Based on the results of laboratory tests on the charcoal of briquette and nutrient content of compost it is known that the average of charcoal briquette value is 6.180,41 cal/gr which meet calorific value standard of charcoal briquette made in Japan which ranges from 6.000-7.000 cal/gr and Indonesian National Standard (SNI 01-6235-2000) for charcoal briquettes which is at least 5000 cal/gr, but does not fulfilled to English Standards (7.300 kal/gr) and America Standards (6.500 cal/gr). The average nutrient content of compost produced from land opening waste is N-total of 2,086%; P2O5 of 1,63%; K2O of 1,19%; ratio of C/N of 8,72 and moisture content of 24,11 (%) .
