Abstract

Heart failure is a health problem with high mortality and morbidity rates in both developed and developing countries including Indonesia. It is a chronic disease that impairs the quality of lifeof patients and is associated with characteristics of demography and comorbid diseases. The presence of comorbid diseases can also affect the treatment of heart failure and worsen the symptoms and condition of heart failure. The aimed of this study was to determine the quality of life differences between Hypertension and Diabetes mellitus comorbid of congestive heart failure. This study was a comparative analytical study of 88 heart failure patients who sought treatment at cardiac clinic at RSUD Kota Kendari. The sampling technique was using purposive sampling based on predetermined criteria. Quality of life was measured using the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure (MLHF) questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using Mann Whitney U Test. with a confidence interval 0f 95% (alpha = 0.05). The result analysis showed a p-value 0.497. Conclusion showed that there was no quality of life diference between hypertension and diabetes mellitus comorbid with congestive heart failure in cardiac clinic at RSUD Kota Kendari. Thus, comorbid disease are not a factor affecting quality of life.

Abstract

Diabetes Melitus (DM) ditandai dengan tingginya kadar glukosa dalam darah disertai dengan gangguan metabolisme karbohidrat, lipid dan protein sebagai akibat dari insufisiensi fungsi insulin. Peningkatan DM didasarkan oleh gaya hidup yang tidak sehat, banyak mengkonsumsi makanan berlemak, kurangnya aktivitas fisik sehingga tidak terkontrolnya kadar glukosa darah. Senam diabetes merupakan aerobic low impact dan ritmic, bermanfaat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah dan mencegah kegemukan serta menekan terjadinya komplikasi. Untuk menggerakan masyarakat untuk hidup sehat dan aktif melakukan pencegahan DM melalui aktivitas senam. Pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 Oktober tahun 2022 dengan total peserta 63 orang, uasia dewasa muda sebanyak 4 orang (18%), usia dewasa tua sebanyak 43 orang (57%), lansia sebanyak 10 orang (25%). Jenis kelamin peserta terdapat 22 orang (36%) laki-laki, 41 orang perempua (74%). Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berjalan dengan baik sesuai dengan target. Kegiatan senam sehat bersama sangat disupport oleh Puskesmas Mokoau dan masyarakat yang berada diwilayah kerja Puskesmas Mokoau.

Abstract

Background. The role of peer support is one of the important roles in the HIV/AIDS management system. Peer support will run continuously if there are program sustainability factors. Objective. This research aims to determine the factors that influence the sustainability of peer support in the HIV/AIDS prevention system in Kendari City. Method. This research was carried out by collecting qualitative data and literature study. In-depth interviews were conducted with main informants and supporting informants. The instrument used was an in-depth interview guide. Results. Peer support groups can continue and play a role in the HIV/AIDS prevention system, if factors related to group sustainability can continue to develop. The sustainability factors for peer support are: 1) Internal factors, which include group motivation factors, leadership, independence and management and group accountability. 2) External factors, which include involvement in the HIV/AIDS control system, access to resources and entry into the referral system.
