Abstract

The aim of the research is to determine the effectiveness of cognitive restructuring techniques to increase learning motivation in students of State Islamic Junior High School 6 Bantul. The type of research is experimental research. The research design uses quasi-experiment. The design uses Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The research population was 8th grade students of State Islamic Junior High School 6 Bantul, amounting to 149 students. The sampling technique in the research used purposive sampling. The criteria for determining the sample in the research are students of State Islamic Junior High School 6 Bantul at 8th grade which indicated to have low learning motivation. The data collection method uses a scale of learning motivation that has gone through validation processes. Data analysis using non-parametric statistics with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that there were differences in the results of the experimental group's learning motivation before (M=72.17) and after (111.67) the treatment was given (p=0.027<0.05). These results can be concluded that cognitive restructuring techniques are effective to increase students learning motivation.

Abstract

The background of the current study is the urgency of possessing good social cognition to adapt to the social changes that are happening quickly. Weak social cognition makes individuals less in empathy, aggressive or unhappy in their daily life. The link between self-management and social cognition lies in cognitive adjustment. Hence, the authors think it is important to do research that focuses on the implementation of counseling with self-management techniques in developing social cognition. The authors aimed to investigate the effectiveness of self-management in improving social cognition. The present study used one group pretest-posttest quasi-experiment. We invited 10 students from Universitas Ma'soem, Indonesia to participate in the experiment. They were selected based on a low social cognition score after filling the self-report of nineteen items social cognition scale. The results showed counseling with self-management techniques effective in improving university students' social cognition. Besides, limitations and recommendations are discussed.

Abstract

Introduction: This “research is motivated by the problems of principals and teachers in applying educational psychology at Elementary School 3 Klaten to improve the quality of learning. In this case, many classroom teachers experience obstacles and difficulties implementing psychological education. Researchers observed and analyzed the implementation of educational psychology by Elementary School 3 Klaten teachers in improving the quality of learning. The objectives of this study include: knowing how teachers implement educational psychology, the obstacles experienced by teachers in implementing educational psychology, and reviewing teacher efforts in overcoming these obstacles to improve the quality of learning. Method: This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The research was conducted at Elementary School 3 Klaten for the academic year 2022/2023. This study analyses teachers implementing educational psychology and supervision carried out by school principals to improve the quality of learning. Result: Based on the analysis of observational data, documentation, and interviews, it shows that teachers at Elementary School 3 Klaten have implemented educational psychology in learning to improve the quality of learning with support and supervision carried out by the school principal. Conclusion: The implementation of educational psychology at Elementary School 3 Klaten is applied by teachers in various ways to improve the quality of learning, including using multiple methods in education, tools, and media, prioritizing interaction with students, providing guidance, motivation, attention, direction, and fair assessment.

Abstract

Background: Communication requires a reciprocal relationship between the delivery of the message and the recipient. In the family, school and social environment, individuals really need communication to support their daily activities. Purpose: This study aims to test the effectiveness of simulation technique group guidance to improve interpersonal communication of grade VII students of Mataram Kasihan Bantul Junior High School for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. Method: This research use a pre-experimental type quantitative experiment method with a one group pretest-posttest design. The data collection method used a questionnaire with a population of 99 students in class VII B, VII C and VII E. While the sample in this study took 12 students from the population using purposive sampling techniques, and the data analysis technique of this study used paired simple t-test analysis. Results: Based on the results of the paired simple t-test analysis, the average pretest result = 72.00 and the average posttest result = 89.83, which means that there is an average increase of 17.83. While the value of t = 24.908 with a sig value. (2 tailed) = 0.000 which means < 0.05. Thus Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a positive and significant influence so that the provision of group guidance services for effective discussion techniques to improve interpersonal communication of grade VII students at Mataram Kasihan Bantul Junior High School for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the provision of group guidance services using simulation techniques is effective for improving interpersonal communication for class VII students of Mataram Kasihan Middle School, Bantul, 2021/2022 Academic Year. Based on the results of the t-test analysis, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, meaning that there is a positive and significant influence regarding the provision of group guidance services using simulation techniques to improve interpersonal communication for class VII students of SMP Mataram Kasihan Bantul Academic Year 2021/2022.
