Ease of access to technology tools is an opportunity for school counsellors to develop diverse and interesting media guidance services. This literature review aims to illustrate the importance of digital literacy as a school counsellor competency, as well as outlining aspects of digital literacy in media development. The study uses textbooks, research journals, and community service report as an analysis of the application of digital literacy to educational practices. Based on this study, school counsellors are required to be able to process and evaluate digital information/data and create digital products that are more relevant to learners. Digital literacy competencies consist of 1) underpinning,  2) background knowledge, 3) central competencies, 4) attitudes, and perspectives. The key to this competency is critical thinking,  and school counsellors can get used to brainstorming to practice it.  Keywords: Digital Literacy, Media, Guidance and Counseling

Abstract

Students with special needs deserve equal opportunities in terms of careers and jobs. Therefore, they need to prepare well, including having a skill called transferable skill. Transferable skills are considered an essential factor in achieving a career. Transferable skills are life skills that are the basis and need to face a future career. This study describes the transferable skills of students with special needs in terms of the type of special needs, age, and grade level. The study employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. This study was conducted at Special Education Schools (Public and Private) in Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Province. Respondents of the study were students of classes X and XI. Transferable skills are measured using a scale developed with three aspects: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor—a test of the validity and reliability of the instrument was also carried out. Descriptive statistics and Kruskal-Wallis Test analyzed data. The results of descriptive and comparative data analysis are presented in the findings section of the study. The Kruskal-Wallis test showed a significant difference in the average transferable skill score based on the type of special needs and grade level. At the same time, the age factor did not provide a significant difference. The results of this study have implications for the design of transferable skills development programs for students with special needs to enter the workplace or the social environment after graduating from Special Education School.Future research is expected to examine a broader range of respondents covering all categories of special needs, not only students with hearing impairment, intellectual disability, and autistic, as in this study.

Abstract

Many students in the educational process need more resilience. This research aims to determine the academic resilience of students' self-efficacy aspects, such as mastery experience, vicarious experience, social persuasion, and emotional state. It also aims to synthesize a framework for modifying students’ academic behavior, namely Self-Efficacy of Academic Resilience Capacity (SEARC). A quantitative approach with regression and literature analyses was used to develop a synthesis framework based on the field findings. The random sampling method was used to collect data on students' self-efficacy. The instrument used in this research was the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (ASES) developed by Alfaiz with a 0.898 reliability. The collected data were analyzed descriptively and regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis. The results showed that mastery experience, vicarious experience, and emotional state significantly increase students’ resilience but social persuasion is insignificant when viewed partially. It implies that self-efficacy ability contributes to academic resilience.
