Abstract

The development of agriculture in regional autonomy faces various challenges, both internal and external factors of the region, such as the issue of social inequality and globalization issues. This social and globalization issue demands each region to be able to compete at home and abroad. The gap and globalization has implications for provinces and districts to develop the region and its flagship product. The development of agriculture is one of the sectors that should be the main priority in the development of agribusiness-oriented areas, high productivity, efficient, sustainable, and sustainable. The success of agricultural development determined by the environment in which agricultural commodities are grown, such as food crops, horticulture, plantations, and livestock. This study aims to: (1) know the use of land that can support productivity in Kecamatan Tinggimoncong, and (2) analyze the sector that developed into the leading sector in agricultural development in Kecamatan Tinggimoncong. Based on the use of lahandi Kecamatan Tinggimoncong consist of settlement area, secondary forest, dry land, paddy field, shrubs and open land. The analysis results of Commodity Excellence Revealed (KKT) there are fourteen superior commodities: rice, sweet potato, leek, potato, cabbage, cabbage, tomato, robusta coffee, arabica coffee, cloves, hazelnut, pepper, and vanilla.

Abstract

Cocoa cultivation business that still has great potential in the future. The problem faced by farmers in cocoa cultivation is that farmers are still lacking in implementing post-harvest management that can provide added value and competitiveness of cocoa quality in the market. This study aimed to 1) analyze the status of cocoa sustainability in Gantarangkeke sub-regency, Bantaeng Regency; 2) analysing the sensitive leverage to the sustainability of cocoa in the Gantarangkeke sub-district. Based on the results of the analysis of the social and cultural dimension index value of 55.19 percent and infrastructure and technology of 51.66 with the category of quite sustainable. While the ecological dimension is 46.68 percent, economy 36.69 percent and legal and institutional 27.45 percent with the category of less sustainable. The results of the analysis of leverage factor, there are fourteen sensitive attributes that affect the sustainability of cocoa in Gantarangkeke sub-district, Bantaeng district. Improvement of attributes, especially sensitive attributes, can improve the cocoa sustainability index.

Abstract

Kelompok Tani dilatih untuk meningkatkan produksi tanamannya dengan memberi pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan limbah, khususnya limbah sayuran rumah tangga menjadi pupuk alami berupa pupuk Cair Organik (POC) dan memberi petunjuk cara aplikasinya. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan bagi anggota kelompok tani dalam pembuatan POC dari limbah sayuran dengan input biaya dan pembelian pupuk yang rendah sehingga dapat meningkatkan produksi. Persoalan dalam kelompok tani adalah produksi tanaman pangan dan hortikultura rendah, produktivitas lahan rendah akibat penggunaan pupuk anorganik, keterbatasn modal membeli pupuk yang kadang tidak tersedia saat tanaman sudah perlu dipupuk, ketergantungan pupuk anorganik dan belum adanya pengetahuan mitra tani ini tentang pemanfaatan limbah sayuran dari rumah tangga untuk dapat dijadikan menjadi pupuk. Permasalahan ini perlu diatasi dengan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan melalui teknologi praktis, murah, menguntungkan sehingga produksi meningkat tanpa tergantung dengan biaya pemupukan tinggi. Target yang telah dicapai adalah penyediaan produk pupuk alami dan larutan penyedia hara serta cara aplikasinya pada tanaman pangan dan hortikultura. Metode yang dipakai pada program pengabdian ini adalah metode demonstrasi dan partisipasi. Kelompok tani diikutkan mulai dari pemberian pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan limbah sayuran jadi pupuk alami, pelatihan pembuatan pupuk cair organik dari limbah sayuran rumah tangga, dan cara aplikasinya pada tanaman. Hasil pada pengabdian ini adalah produk pupuk alami berupa pupuk organik cair dan petunjuk penggunaannya.

Abstract

Land evaluation is an assessment of the potential of land resources. The results of land evaluation will provide information on the best use of it which will lead to expected value of production. This study aimed to determine the level of suitability of the cocoa plantations in Bantaeng Regency using the FAO and Sys methods; make a map of the actual and potential land suitability. The results of the analysis showed that the actual cocoa land suitability of the FAO method was presented in distribution points according to marginal (S3rn) with limiting factor of rooting media and nutrients availability. While the actual land suitability analysis of the cocoa Sys method was not suitable (N1cSf) with climate limiting factors, the soil physical properties and soil fertility. Based on the limiting factors the physical properties of the two methods, there were similarities in effective depth (FAO) and soil depth (Sys), S3 parameters according to FAO and N1 according to Sys. The limiting factor for the soil chemical properties of the two methods was also the same, the availability of S3 (FAO) nutrients, while the (Sys) method was the soil fertility N1.

Abstract

Corn is one type of food crop known by many people because corn is one of the staple food ingredients with a variety of processed foods. In addition, corn can also be used as animal feed. There are many factors that affect the sustainability of corn cultivation. The purpose of this study were: (1) analyzing the sustainability of corn cultivation in Herlang of Bulukumba district; (2) analyzing the sensitive attributes to the sustainability of corn cultivation in Herlang of Bulukumba district. Based on the results of the analysis, the sustainability index value of corn cultivation were: ecological dimension 61.10%, social and cultural dimension 53.73% with a quite sustainable category, while the economic dimension is 40.15%. infrastructure and technology dimensions 44.12% and legal and institutional 44.59% with less sustainable categories. The results of the analysis of leverage 51 attributes, there are 17 sensitive attributes that affect the sustainability of corn in Herlang district, Bulukumba regency. Improvement of attributes, especially sensitive attributes, can improve corn sustainability index.
