Abstract

One of the most popular internet services is electronic mail (e-mail). By using mobile devices with internet connection, e-mail can be widely used by anyone to exchange information anywhere and anytime whether public or confidential. Unfortunately, there are some security issues with email communication; e-mail is sent in over open networks and e-mail is stored on potentially insecure mail servers. Moreover, e-mail has no integrity protection so the body can be undectected altered in transit or on the e-mail server. E-mail also has no data origin authentication, so people cannot be sure that the emails they receive are from the e-mail address owner. In order to solve this problem, this study proposes a secure method of e-mail communication on Android-based mobile devices using a hybrid cryptosystem which combines symmetric encryption, asymmetric encryption and hash function. The experimental results show that the proposed method succeeded in meeting those aspects of information security including confidentiality, data integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i4.874

Abstract

A library is essential in education, especially in elementary schools. SD Negeri Rambutan 03 Pagi Jakarta is a public school in East Jakarta with a library. The school library was managed manually, where books with detailed information were stored on a spreadsheet. Some library processes could not perform well, such as tracing how many books were on loan. Based on this situation, a library management system was required to support library activities. Sampoerna University had several collaborations with SD Negeri Rambutan 03 Pagi Jakarta for community services, a workshop, and an internship. In this community service opportunity, We used a qualitative method with internal discussions and literature reviews. We provided a dedicated server machine to be placed on-premise. This machine will be a library automation system over the school's Local Area Network (LAN). Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) was chosen to be installed on the server because it has the required features to support the school library. One of the essential things is that SLiMS is free and open source. The library automation system has been successfully implemented, and there will be future community service activities to continue the library system development.

Abstract

The government has established an electronic-based government system (SPBE) program to realize clean, effective, transparent and accountable government governance as well as quality and trustworthy public services implemented with the principles of effectiveness, integration, continuity, efficiency, accountability, interoperability and security. . The implementation of SPBE has been evaluated with the achievement of 16 government agencies receiving a very good title in monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the Electronic Based Government System (SPBE) in 2022. During 2022, there were several agencies with excellent predicates who reported cases of web defacement in their electronic systems. via the zone-h.org site as an open publication media regarding web defacement cases. The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) said that during 2022 there would be 2,348 cases of web defacement with the sector most affected by web defacement attacks being the Government Administration sector with a total of 885 cases. This research analyzes the influence between the SPBE index value as the independent variable and the number of web defacement cases as the dependent variable using a simple linear regression statistical method to see the gap in the relationship between the SPBE index and cyber attack cases in the form of web defacement cases that occurred at SPBE agencies. The research was carried out using quantitative research methods to process research data using a simple linear regression method. In the research, the results showed that F count = 2,363978 < from F table = 4,60011 , so it was concluded that there was no relationship between the SPBE index value and the number of web defacement cases in agencies that received excellent predicate
