Abstract

Sagu Baruk Palm (Arenga microcarpha) is an endemic plant and producing carbohydrates as main source of local food to the people in Sangihe Island . The aim of this study is to analyze the production of  the sago and to analyze its the chemical composition and nutritional value. The research was conducted from October 2010 to June 2011 at Gunung Village Tabukan Tengah Regency Sangihe district Island. The village is spread from the coast up to the top of the hill with an altitude of ± 600 meters above sea level. The data analysis techniques in this research is descriptive analysis, F test, ANOVA. The results showed that the production of Sagu Baruk Palm at the third height position for the stem lenght 9.7-11m and stem diameter 14.3-15.7cm obtain wet sago flour 44-44.3kg and the stem rendemen from 21.3% to 22.3%, statistically only stem weight and pith weight has a significant different. The highest stem weight obtained at the bottom position, the highest pith weight obtain at the top position, and for the higest stem rendemen obtain at the top position . The chemical composition were significant differences in levels of protein, calcium, iron, magnesium, and pH at the three height positions. Key words: Superior local food sources, stem rendemen, production, sagu baruk palm.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of tools and guidelines for the density practicum at the Physics Laboratory, UNIMA, so that the practicum activities are not carried out. The purpose of this research is to produce a product of tools and guidelines for practicum density using guided inquiry learning models. This research is a research and development study using the 4 D research model adapted from the Thiagarajan model, which is difine, design, develop and disseminate. The number of students taken is 8 people for the small group test and 16 people for the large group test. The data analysis technique was done descriptively with several types of assessment including cognitive and psychomotor. At the last meeting, students were given a questionnaire to see student responses to density practical tools and guidelines, the results of the questionnaire proved that 97.87% thought that tools and practical guides were very useful (SB) in experimental activities. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the product of the tools and guidelines for density practice using guided inquiry learning models with very good and proper qualifications.      Keywords: Practicum Guide, Research and Development, Hydrostatic Pressure,

Abstract

The population growth is closely related to the utilization of natural resources and will impact on environmental degradation. Therefore, identifying and inventorying the local wisdom of the community that aims to conserve the environment is very important. Natural science perspective lifting local wisdom in education is one way to revitalize, develop and maintain the values of local knowledge. This study aims to explore the elements of local wisdom in society, examines the concept of Natural Science and Mathematics contained in the elements of local wisdom and is designed for learning materials. The research was conducted in the District Manganitu Sangihe Islands in January 2016. Data collection using observation techniques and interviews with related parties and data obtained analyzed the concept of science underlying the forms of local wisdom existing in Manganitu community. The result of the research is a concept map which contains the network of Mathematics and Natural Science concepts. This research product can meet the needs of high school teachers and become one of the solution of thematic learning problem in Sangihe Island. Keywords : Concept of Mathematics and Science, Local Community Wisdom, Curriculum 2013

Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of practicum guides for one-phase and three-phase generator tools so that students lack expertise in using these tools in experimenting. The purpose of this study is to produce a physics practicum guidance product on a one-phase and three-phase generator using a guided inquiry model with mentoring. This research is a research and development study using the 4D research model adapted from the Thiagarajan model, which is define, design, develop and disseminate. The results of the study for mentors and groups get an average value of 86.45%, so that the guidelines fall into the feasible / valid category. and on the response of mentors and students 47.17% chose very useful (SB), 51.43% chose useful (B) and 1.4% chose less useful (KB) none voted unhelpful (TB). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that a product has been produced in the form of a basic physics practicum guide for one-phase and three-phase generator tools using a guided inquiry learning model with good and proper qualifications. Keywords: Practicum guide, Research and Development, one-phase and three-phase generators, guided inquiry, mentoring.
