Abstract

Herbicides are generally used in the control of weeds in plants. The use of synthetic chemicals such as herbicides is known to have a negative impact on the environment. This is because the chemicals in the herbicide can kill or poison the organisms that eat plants that are exposed to these chemicals. Glyphosate is one of the active ingredients of herbicides which is systemic, so it may leave a residue on weeds such as grasses which are usually used as animal feed. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of glyphosate residues on changes in the organ tissue of goats (Capra hircus) fed with feed exposed to glyphosate compounds. The study was conducted using an experimental method with four treatments of glyphosate concentration including control. The treatment consists of four goats with age of 12 months. The results showed that glyphosate treatment in feed influenced the development and tissue of the goats. The higher the concentration of the residue exposed to the feed, the higher the residual concentration of glyphosate in livestock blood, namely 0.2377 ppm (P1), 0.3118 ppm (P2), and 0.9377 ppm (P3), respectively. The results of the observation on livestock organ tissue showed that there was severe damage to the liver and minor damage to the lung, gastric and kidney tissue. The higher the concentration of the residue exposed to the feed, the higher the residual concentration of glyphosate in livestock blood and causing more damage.

Abstract

AbstractThe objective of this research was to identify Honeybee's diversity, plants as a potential woof source, and the participation of Forest Farmers Group (KTH) Sari Puspa members in the Subanjeriji Production Forest, Muara Enim District, Sumatera Selatan Province. Identification of bees was carried out by collecting samples which are then identified based on the species key determination. Collecting the potential woof source employed the transect method established around the beekeeping sites. Direct observation and interviews with beekeeper samples were utilized to determine community participation in forest conservation efforts to support beekeeping. The results indicated that it has been identified in field the sting bee of Apis cerana Fabr and stingless bee of Trigona, with variations of as many as six species: Genitrigona thoracica, Heterotrigona itama, Tetrigona apicalis, Lepidotrigona terminata, Tetragonula testaceitarsis, and Tetragonula laeviceps. The types of potential bee woof sources that have been identified consist of forestry plants namely Acacia mangium, Multi-Purpose Tree Species (MPTS) such as rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) and fruit-producing plants, and shrubs. Most of the honey beekeepers understand that forest plants' existence is beneficial to support honey production so that the majority of farmers are involved in land enrichment efforts with woody plants and MPTS that produce fruit.

Abstract

The decision to make Bangka Belitung a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), a tourism destination, has raised the possibility of the emergence of the threat of trafficking. In general, the people of Belitung, especially the residents of Batu Ita Village, are aware of the presence and threat of human trafficking in the Belitung area. Trafficking in persons in the region became increasingly troubling when new media helped strengthen trafficking networks in the form of prostitution. The incident was realized by village officials who worked as teachers in high schools on average. This makes the service team from the International Relations Study Program (HI), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI) more confident to aid the Belitung area, especially Batu Itam Village. Through outreach activities, Group discussion forums (FGDs), and evaluations with Pre-tests and Post-Tests, the Results of these Activities show that the community is enthusiastic about learning a lot about trafficking and ways to overcome it. The community also agreed to be given full assistance from the government and the University.
