Abstract

Analysis of Unda Watershed Perfomanced Based on Land Use and Water Discharge Indicators The Unda watershed has experienced a decline in forest area, a decline in water catchment areas, an increase in residential areas and is known to have potential flooding. If the function of a watershed is disrupted, the hydrological system will be disrupted. The purpose of this study was to analyze changes in land use, water discharge and to know the performance of the Unda watershed which includes the precentage of vegetation cover, coefficient of flow regim and annual flow coefficient. The research method is descriptive comparative, by comparing the two parameters, namely the land use and water discharge in 2007, 2011 and 2016. The results showed that land use in Unda watershed were dominated by fields, forests, paddy fields, gardens, shrubs, settlement and open field. During the 2007-2016 period, the highest water discharge occurred in November 2016 amounting to 7.78 m3/sec while the lowest water discharge occurred in March 2011 amounting to 1.72 m3/sec. The results of watershed performance analysis based on indicators of percentage of vegetation cover indicate that the Unda watershed is at a medium level of damage and tends to deteriorate with a range of values ??of 41.42 - 22.63%, while in the flow regime coefficient indicator and annual flow coefficient, indicates that the Unda watershed is at a medium level of damage. The flow regime coefficient value of the 2007-2016 period is at a value of 9.81 - 1.65, then the annual flow coefficient value is at the value of 0.17 - 0.36%. Further research needs to be done regarding the assessment of watershed performance based on other indicators so that the performance of the Unda watershed is known from all aspects.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The Characteristic of Wetland Terracing in the Hillside Area and Its Management at Subak Jatiluwih, Sub-district of Penebel, Regency of Tabanan Subak Jatiluwih has a characteristic of rice field terracing which sufficiently taken into account as a terrace model and rice field management in the hillside area. In order to get the terrace model along with rice field management in the hillside area required a research regarding the subak land terracing characteristic in the hillside area along with its management. The research carried out by the method of survey and soil samples taken were analyzed in the laboratory the soil, and data management of terrace land were obtained through interviews to farmers landowners of sample. The research aims to find out the terrace along with the form of its land management, which is in the form of cropping pattern and irrigation system existed at Subak Jatiluwih, Sub-district of Penebel, Regency of Tabanan. The result of research shows that the steeper the class of hillside’s slope is, the narrower its terrace’s width, the higher its terrace’s height, the wider its rice field’s width, the higher its rice field’s height, the lower its inner rice field’s height, and the greater its rice field’s slope angle to its vertical plane. The cropping pattern being used at Subak Jatiluwih is cropping pattern of paddy-paddy-paddy and cropping pattern of paddy-paddy. The irrigation system applied is continuous simultaneously flowing system or continuous flow which does not need too many personnel to operate it.   Keyword : Slope,  Bench Terrace, Cropping Pattern, Irrigation System

Abstract

Mapping the condition of physical properties of land in Jatiluwih Subak, Penebel District, Tabanan Regency Jatiluwih Subak has different slopes and slopes which are quite calculated for sustainability in the environment by knowing the physical properties of the soil and the management of rice fields on slope farms. To find out the conditions and land management on the slopes it is necessary to investigate the physical properties of the soil, together with the management of land in reality. Research conducted by survey methods and soil samples taken were analyzed at the Soil and Environmental Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana. Whereas land management data was obtained through interviews with soil samples. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical properties of the soil and the reality treatment of different slope gradients in Subak Jatiluwih, Penebel, Tabanan Regency. Research begins with making maps using the Geospatial Information System application by overlaying the soil type map, slope slope map, and land use map. Four homogeneous land were obtained and each soil unit was taken as a composite sample and analyzed the physical properties of soil in the laboratory which included texture, specific gravity, porosity, permeability, and infiltration. The condition of the physical properties of land in Jatiluwih Subak varies. Bulk Density has criteria of low to moderate, porosity conditions between good to shaft, soil permeability has the criteria of being moderate, rather quickly advancing water or air in the soil. Soil infiltration conditions tend to be the same ie fine pores. Research on the location of soil texture shows the presence of clay, clay loam, and loam.

Abstract

Differences of Greening Planting Ages Against Soil Quality Changes in Pelaga Village, Petang District, BadungLand as an environmental component must be maintained, protected and avoided from adverse impacts and must be maintained and enhanced. This study aims to determine the effect of different age of reforestation plants on soil quality changes in Pelaga Village, Petang District, Badung Regency. The method used in this research is observation method with direct observation in field and laboratory analysis. The research was conducted in accordance with several stages, namely the planning and preparation of the initial survey of reforestation land that aims to determine the point of sampling in accordance with the age of reforestation, soil sampling, analysis of physical properties, chemistry, and biology in the laboratory and analysis of research data. The results showed that there was no change in soil quality on land with different plantation age 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, compared with control (land with grass vegetation) and decreased soil quality was observed on land with planting age 4 years and 5 years (after harvest).

Abstract

Performance Analysis of Watershed Indicators Based On Land Use and Discharge of Water in DAS UndaWatershed (DAS) is an integral ecosystem elements consist primarily of natural resources, water and vegetation and human resources as users of those resources. Unda watershed allegedly decreased function, such as the decline in forest area, increasing critical lands and known to potentially flood. This research was conducted in order to deternine Unda watershed response to changes of use of land in the years of 2006-2013 and the water discharge conditions. DAS performance indicators used are the Precentage of Vegetation Cover (PVC) and Coefficient of Flow Regime (CFR). Method of research is descriptive comparative view of the two parameters, that is the use of land and water discharge. The results showed the prencentage of vegetation cover in the medium category ranges from 55,07% and deceased by 1,87 in 2013. Indicator coefficient of flow regimes gained 67,66 value before it is published Plan of Integrated Watershed Management (2006-2009) included in the medium category and scores 18,8 after being issued Plan of Integrated Watershed Management (2010-2013) with both categories. CFR suspected impairment is not only influenced by the value of the percentage of vegetation cover, but is also influenced by othe factors, such as climate, soil type, vegetation type, the growth phase, vegetation density, how management and others.

Abstract

Characteristics of Soil Hydrology At Various Age Levels of Reforestation In Pelaga Vilage Petang Ditrict, Badung Regency Nowadays many areas are experiencing drought during the dry season and flooding during the rainy season, so the water is no longer available throughout the year due to an imbalance of the hydrological cycle. The imbalance is caused by two factors: natural factors and management factors. Reforestation plants are expected to have the function of forests as an effective natural run off control. The purposes of this research were to know the difference of hydrological characteristics at several age levels reforestation and to determine the role of plant ages in improving soil hydrological properties at Pelaga vilage. The data was analysed with descriptive quantitative method..The results from this research of characterized the hydrological at various age levels of reforestation was increased fluctuatingly. Available water on reforestation 1,2,3,4,5 years old and controls respectively 14.75%, 12.07%, 14.90%, 13.98%, 15.88%, and 12.22%. The highest characteristics of soil hydrology was achieve in the reforestation area of the five years old or after harvest was 15.88%. The increasing levels of water available between the ages of five years over control was 29.95%.

Abstract

The Study of Land Resource Potentials at Manggis District, Karangasem Regency forDevelopment of Horticulture Crops.The objective of the research was to study the potential ofland resources for growing horticulture crops at Manggis District, Karangasem Regency. Soil surveyand laboratory analysis were used in this research. The parameters of soil characteristics observedwere soil morphology in the fields, and physical and chemical properties. The results showed that thelands of Manggis District classified into ‘suitable enough’ until ‘very suitable’ for growing horticulturecrops. Abstract

An Increase of The Yield of Paddy Rice with Application of The Site-Specific NutrientFertilization (SSNF) through Evaluation of The Nutrient Soil Status. Agricultural landincluding paddy fields decreases every year due to land conversion and decreasing of waterresources for irrigation. However, the need for food (rice) increases simultaneously with theincreasing of population growth. Although inorganic fertilizer and improved varieties of ricehave been intensively used, however, expected rice production has not been achieved.Fertilization based on site-specific nutrient might require for solving the problems. Researchconcerning of the site-specific nutrient fertilization (SSNF) have been carried out at Megati,District of Selemadeg Timur Tabanan Regency from April to October 2015. The objective ofthe research was to find out the effects of several types of fertilization with differentcomposition on the growth and yield of rice. The treatments were Kd0P0 (without fertilizer),Kd0P1 ( without organic fertilizer ; 100 kg urea, 25 kg SP36,and 25 kg KCl ha-1), Kd0P2(without organic fertilizer ; 150 kg urea, 50 kg SP36 and 50 kg KCl ha-1), Kd0P3 (withoutorganic fertilizer; 200 kg urea, 75 kg SP36 dan 75 kg KCl ha-1), Kd1P1 ( 5 tons of organicfertilizer ha-1; 100 kg urea, 25 kg SP36,and 25 kg KCl ha-1 ), Kd1P2 ( 5 tons of organicfertilizer ha-1; 150 kg urea, 50 kg SP36 and 50 kg KCl ha-1 ), Kd1P3 (5 tons of organicfertilizer ha-1; 200 kg urea, 75 kg SP36 and 75 kg KCl ha-1 ), and SSNF (5 tons of organicfertilizer ha-1; Rainbow NPK 200 kg ha-1 and 75 kg urea ha-1). The results showed that theplant height and the highest number of productive tillers was obtained from Kd1P3 treatment.The highest yield was obtained from the SSNF treatment. The SSNF treatment produced 9.12ton dried grain ha-1.
