<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Karakter rasa ingin tahu merupakan salah satu nilai pendidikan karakter yang diprogramkan oleh Kemendiknas untuk dikembangkan dalam diri siswa. Karakter rasa ingin tahu penting dimiliki oleh siswa sebagai insan yang menuntut ilmu. Siswa yang memiliki keingintahuan yang tinggi terhadap materi dapat menyebabkan ilmunya jauh lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan siswa yang hanya menunggu penjelasan dari guru. Hal tersebut tentu akan berdampak pada hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa. Diperlukan suatu model maupun metode pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan karakter rasa ingin tahu, sehingga hasil belajar siswa juga meningkat, salah satunya yaitu melalui pembelajaran kontekstual dengan metode snowball throwing. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji adanya peningkatan karakter rasa ingin tahu dan hasil belajar akuntansi pada siswa SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong melalui pembelajaran kontekstual dengan metode snowball throwing.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dengan setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X-AK I SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Sumber data penelitian berasal dari siswa, peristiwa dan dokumen. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah tes, dokumentasi, observasi, dan angket. Teknik untuk menguji keabsahan data menggunakan viliditas isi dan triangulasi metode. Analisis data menggunakan deskriptif komparatif dan interaktif model.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa melalui pembelajaran kontekstual dengan metode snowball throwing dapat meningkatkan karakter rasa ingin tahu dan hasil belajar akuntansi dari prasiklus ke siklus I dan dari siklus I ke siklus II. Peningkatan karakter rasa ingin tahu dan hasil belajar siswa ditunjukkan dengan tercapainya indikator kinerja penelitian siklus II. Karakter rasa ingin tahu siswa pada siklus II untuk ketiga aspek karakter rasa ingin tahu pada kategori tinggi. Hasil belajar siswa ranah kognitif siklus II mencapai 83,3%.Simpulan penelitian ini adalah melalui pembelajaran kontekstual dengan metode snowball throwing dapat meningkatkan karakter rasa ingin tahu dan hasil belajar akuntansi pada siswa SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong.Kata Kunci: penelitian tindakan kelas, karakter, hasil belajar kognitif  ABSTRACT Curiosity character is one of the value of character education preprogrammed by education ministry to be developed within the students. Curiosity character is important to owned by students as individuals demanding the knowledge. He had a great curiousity the material can cause to more knowledge than students who only waiting for explanation from the teacher. It certainly will impact on students learning results. Needed a model and the learning methods that would improve curiousity character, so the learning results of students also increase, one of them is through contextual learning with snowball throwing. The Purposes of the research is to improve the curiosity character and learning results of accountancy for grade X-AK 1 students of Vocational School of Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong by applying contextual learning with snowball throwing method.This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research conducted in two cycles with each cycle consist of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research were the students as many as 30 for grade X-AK 1 of Vocational School of Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong. The data sources of the research were the students, events and documents. The data of the research were gathered through test, documentation, observation, and questionnaire. The tehnique to the test validity of the data are content validity and triangulation method. The data were then analyzed by using the descriptive comparative and interactive model of analysis.The results of the research show that by applying contextual learning with snowball throwing can improve the curiosity character and learning results of accountancy from pre-cycle to cycle I and from cycle I to cycle II. The improvement of the curiosity and learning results is indicated by the fulfillment of the performance indicators in cycle II. The curiosity character of the students in cycle II for three curiosity character aspect in high category. The learning results of cognitive domain of the students reaches 83,3%. Based on results of the research that the applying of contextual learning with snowball throwing can improve curiosity character an learnin results in accountancy of Vocational School of Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong.Keyword: classroom action research, character, cognitive learning results]]>
