Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat motif (Gratification Sought) dan kepuasan (Gratification Obtained) dalam menggunakan aplikasi Blackberry messenger (BBM) di kalangan santri Pondok Pesantren Al-Ishlah Bandarkidul Mojoroto Kota Kediri. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif yang menggunakan metode survei dan dengan alat bantu kuesioner. Responden dari penelitian ini adalah santri Pondok Pesantren Al-Ishlah Bandarkidul Mojoroto Kota Kediri yang menggunakan Blackberry messenger (BBM) dengan jumlah sampel 75 dari 174 populasi. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara teknik sampling purposive. Data dari hasil kuesioner kemudian dimasukkan ke dalam coding sheet secara manual dan diinterpretasikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa motif (GS) santri Pondok Pesantren Al-Ishlah Kota Kediri dalam menggunakan Blackberry Messenger (BBM) memiliki tingkatan motif informasi sebesar 50,7% termasuk dalam kategori tinggi, motif identitas pribadi 37,3% kategori sedang, motif integrasi dan interaksi sosial 6,7% kategori sangat tinggi, motif hiburan 2,7% kategori rendah dan 2,7% kategori sangat rendah pada setiap indikator. Sedangkan kepuasan yang diperoleh (GO) santri Pondok Pesantren Al-Ishlah Kota Kediri dalam penggunaan aplikasi ini juga memiliki tingkat kepuasan 57,3% dalam kategori tinggi pada indikator kepuasan informasi, 32% kategori sedang pada indikator kepuasan identitas pribadi, 5,3% kategori rendah pada indikator kepuasan integrasi dan interaksi sosial, 2,7% kategori sangat tinggi pada indikator kepuasan hiburan dan 2,7% kategori sangat rendah pada setiap masing-masing indikator. Abstract

The emergence of social media as a means to communicate has given the influence on the people’s life either directly or undirectly. It is because social media gives an opportunity to the users to interact and express their aspirations and inspirations. This media can even affect the communication styles of its users. This study aims to determine the impact of the use of social media which is based on web 2.0 on everyday communication styles of STAIN Kediri students. It also determines which variables that give dominant impact on communication styles. Based on the research, it can be concluded that there is a significant impact of the use of social media towards daily communication styles of STAIN Kediri students. The most significant variable which has great impact is the interaction in utilizing social media. It is because the student interaction with social media explains the relationship and deep involvement between the users and the social media that they use. Abstract

Industry of fashion that get into the life of Salafi members makes shar'i hijab become aesthetics. Approximately 30% of Salafi women in Imam Muslim Islamic Boarding School Kediri have worn hijab shar?i as their preference. This article describes the aesthetic practices of shar?i hijab and the factors behind it. This study applies a qualitative approach using a case study as a research method in which it observes the social reality of shar?i hijab aesthetic practices among Salafi women at Imam Muslim Islamic Boarding School. The research analyzes the case and situation that occurred and also attempts to understand the informants? point of view. Through literature studies, participatory observation, and in-depth interviews, the study found that the informants have been wearing two different shar?i hijab; dark colors and bright colors. The informants also combine their "gamis" in terms of its pattern consisting of ornaments and accents in different colors. The informants also prefer to wear a unique and funny, in order to make them look flexible, younger and up to date.
