Abstract

Dokumentasi keperawatan merupakan bukti tertulis pelayanan yang diberikan kepada pasien oleh tenaga keperawatan yang bertujuan untuk menghindari kesalahan, tumpang tindih dan ketidak lengkapan informasi dalam asuhan keperawatan agar terbinanya koordinasi yang baik dan dinamis antar tenaga keperawatan serta meningkatkan efisiensi, efektifitas dan menjamin kualitas asuhan keperawatan serta meningkatkan mutu pelayanan di poli klinik gigi rumah sakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sistim manajemen dokumentasi keperawatan pada poli klinik gigi rumah sakit berdasarkan standar pelayanan keperawatan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode analisis kualitatif, sumber data berasal dari observasi, dokumen dan wawancara mendalam. Informan penelitian berjumlah 10 (sepuluh) orang yang terdiri dari direktur rumah sakit, ketua PPGI Kota Bukittinggi, kepala ruangan poli klinik gigi/ kepala instalasi dan perawat gigi di poli klinik gigi rumah sakit di Bukittinggi.Validasi data dilakukan dengan triangulasi, selanjutnya dilakukan analisis data, reduksi data, interpretasi dan komunikasikan makna temuan melalui laporan tertulis. Hasil penelitian didapatkan dokumentasi keperawatan pada poli klinik gigi belum terlaksana dengan optimal, hal ini mempengaruhi proses pendokumentasian, tidak tersedianya kartu khusus pencatatan pemeriksaan dan perawatan gigi juga sangat mempengaruhi sistim dokumentasi keperawatan pada poli klinik gigi. Kesimpulan penelitian: sistim penyelenggaraan dokumentasi keperawatan pada poli klinik gigi belum terlaksana dengan optimal karena belum tersedianya kartu pencatatan pemeriksaan dan perawatan gigi pada poli klinik gigi rumah sakit, belum adanya SOP dokumentasi keperawatan, dan jika ada tidak pernah disosialisasikan, hanya diberikan kepada petugas di poli klinik gigi serta tidak ada kebijakan jika tidak menjalankan SOP yang telah diberikan. Abstract

Bay leaves (Syzgium Polyanthum) contain flavonoids, tannins and essential oils which act as antibacterial. Plaque contains bacteria that stick closely to the surface of the teeth which can cause disease in the hard tissues of the teeth and the supporting tissues of the teeth. Plaque control is carried out mechanically and chemically, on of which is gargling bay leaf extract. Plaque measurement using the plaque index. The research objective was to determine the inhibition of gargling of bay leaf extract against plaque formation. This study used a quasi experimental method wth a post test control group design. The sampling technique was simple random sampling, the number of sample was determined Fredere’s formula, the sample devided into 3 groups, each group conssiting of 9 respondents.Group 1 rinsed with bay leaf extract, group 2 rinsed with antiseptic mouthwash and group 3 rinsed with aquadest. Data were tested by using Annova test. The result showed that the average plaque index after rinsing the bay leaf extract was 1.056, the average plaque indexgargling antiseptic mouthwash was 2.478, and the average plaque index after gargling with aquadest was 2167.The significance value is 0.178 and f count > f table (6.238> 3.403). The conclusion was garglingbay leaf extract wwas more effective in inhibiting plaque formation. It is recommended to use bay leaf extract as a mouthwash to maintain oral health.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Karies gigi merupakan salah satu penyakit gigi dan mulut yang paling banyak terjadi pada masyarakat. Penyebab utama karies gigi adalah bakteri Streptococcus Mutans. Streptococcus Mutans merupakan golongan bakteri gram positif. Pertumbuhan bakteri Streptococcus Mutans dapat dikendalikan dengan bahan antibakteri. Bahan alam yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai antibakteri, diantaranya adalah buah nanas. Buah nanas adalah salah satu jenis buah yang banyak digemari oleh masyarakat dan memiliki banyak manfaat dibidang kesehatan. Bonggol nanas merupakan limbah tanaman nanas yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal, padahal bagian bonggol mengandung beberapa senyawa zat aktif salah satunya enzim bromelinTujuan: Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui uji daya hambat antibakteri dari ekstrak bonggol nanas terhadap bakteri Streptococcus Mutans.Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratorium dengan metode difusi sumuran (well diffusion). Ekstraksi bonggol nanas dilakukan dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak bonggol nanas dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri streptococcus mutans dengan nilai signifikansi p=0,001 (p0,05).  Pada konsentrasi 100% diameter zona hambat 28,6 mm, konsentrasi 75%, 50%, dan 25% memiliki diameter zona hambat 15,6 mm, 14,6 mm dan 13,6 mm. dalam Kontrol positif menggunakan povidone iodine1% dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat 4 mm memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dengan kategori lemah, dan untuk kontrol negative dengan menggunakan aquades tidak menunjukkan zona hambat 0 mm.Kesimpulan: Hasil pengujian daya hambat ekstrak bonggol nanas memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dengan kategori sedang hingga sangat kuat.

Abstract

Background: One of the causes of dental caries is Streptococcus mutant bacteria which has the ability to change the sugar content of food waste into lactic acid as the initial process of caries. One of the efforts to overcome dental caries is to use natural ingredients such as nutmeg. Every part of nutmeg has active substances that are efficacious as antimicrobial, antibacterial, antioxidant, antifungal and anti-inflammatory. Pulpam, seeds and fuli of nutmeg showed as potential extracts in inhibiting the growth of Streptococcus mutans. Objective: This study aimed to analyze methanol extracts from pericarpium, pulpam, fuli and nutmeg seeds against the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria that causes dental plaque. Methods: The research was conducted by diffusion method using BHI agar media and incubated anaerobically at 37°C for 24 hours. Results: The results of the calculation of the average diameter of the inhibition zones from the extract of fuli, seeds, pulpam and pericarpium of the nutmeg plant were 19.00 mm, 25.33 mm, 15.66 mm, 22.66 mm, and 21.83 mm, respectively. Data analysis using ANOVA (one way) showed that there were significant differences in all groups at p<0.05. The results of the LSD test showed that there were significant differences in all treatment groups. Conclusion: Methanol extract from fruit and fruit parts of nutmeg showed the ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria that cause dental plaque.

Abstract

Background: Saliva acts as a buffer system to maintain the optimal pH of the mouth. The acidic pH of saliva causes demineralization of enamel resulting in dental caries. The bromelain enzyme found in pineapple skin can increase the pH of saliva by inhibiting bacterial growth. This study aims to determine the effect of gargling with pineapple peel extract solution (Ananas comosus(L) Merr) on salivary pH in students of SMPN 3 Bukit Apit. Methods: This study was using a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test without a control group design. The research sample was 27 students of SMPN 3 Bukit Apit. The sample was divided into 3 groups of 9 students eacof h who met the inclusion criteria. Group 1 rinsed with 25% pineapple peel extract, growas up 2 rinsed with 50% pineapple peel extract, solution and group 3 rinsed with distilled water. Salivary pH was measured using a digital pH meter before rinsing, after rinsing for 3 minutes, after rinsing for ,15 minutes and after rinsing for 30 minutes. Data were analyzed by t Test followed by ANOVA test Results: There was a significant effect (p<0.005) of gargling with pineapple peel extract solution on the pH of saliva. The concentration of the pineapple peel extract solution that had the most effect on salivary pH was the concentration of 50%. Conclusion: Gargling with a solution of pineapple peel extract can increase the pH of oral saliva.

Abstract

Streptococcus mutans naturally occurs in the human oral cavity, is a microorganism that plays an important role in the initiation of dental caries. One of the efforts to prevent dental caries is the use of natural ingredients that contain antibacterial substances that can interfere with the growth or kill bacteria. Nutmeg is a natural ingredient that has antibacterial properties. Bioactive compounds in nutmeg seeds have antibacterial properties. This research aimed to determine the formulation and concentration of nutmeg seed extract which has antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans. The type of research used is a laboratory experiment with a post test only group design. The treatment group used purified extract of nutmeg seeds with concentrations of 25%, 20%, 15%, 10%, 7.5%, 5.0%, 2.5%, 1.25%, the positive control group used mouthwash I, T and L. The test was carried out three repetitions at each concentration, then the inhibition zone was measured using the well diffusion method. Antibacterial activity testing was carried out using the well method, the data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test, the Levene test, the one way annova test and the PST hock test. Obtained the average inhibition of nutmeg seeds against Streptococcus mutans at a concentration of 25% (18.33 mm). 20% concentration (17.16 mm), 15% concentration (16.16 mm), 10% concentration (14.66 mm), 7.5% concentration (13.33 mm), 5% concentration (6.66 mm ), the concentration of 2.5% (2.6 mm) and the smallest concentration of 1.25% had no inhibition (0 mm), while in the control group I (4 mm), T (3 mm) and L (2 mm). The higher the concentration of purified extract of nutmeg seeds, the higher the antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans. further research on the concentration of nutmeg seed extract preparations was carried out in vivo tests on experimental animals in order to obtain purified extract preparations of nutmeg seeds that are safe and can be an alternative choice in maintaining oral health.

Abstract

Dental and gum health problems in pre-school children often arise duetoalackof understanding of the importance of a healthy diet and proper brushing habits. Thiscommunity service aims to provide education about the importance of ahealthydiet and proper brushing habits to pre school children in Nagari Cingkaring, Banuhampu District, and increase awareness of dental and gumhealth. Themethod of community service activities is through a series of educational sessionsabout healthy and destructive foods for dental health, providing foodsthat arehealthy and destructive for teeth, educating good and correct toothbrushing, demonstrating tooth brushing, providing toothbrush packages and carryingout tooth brushing together to practice proper tooth brushing habits. The resultsof thisactivity show the enthusiasm of children in the implementation of theprogram, increased knowledge of pre-school children about healthy and destructivefoodsfor dental health, and an increase in the habit of brushing teeth regularly. Inconclusion, this community service activity succeeded in raising the awarenessofpre-school children about the importance of a healthy diet and dental hygiene, with the hope that they can maintain these habits into adulthood, therebyreducingthe risk of dental and gum health problems in the future.
