Abstract

Electronic Money Users and Card-Based Payment Instruments are rapidly increasing in the economy. Specifically, the study aims to determine the effect of the development of electronic money (e-money), and Card-Based Payment Instrument to accelerate the velocity of money in Indonesia. The analysis uses the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to examine the existence of the short-term model, or if there is cointegration, then estimate the long-term relationship and the error correction model. The conclusion of the study that there is cointegration between the acceleration of the velocity of money, with electronic money and the Card-Based Payment Instrument (APMK) means that in the long run, electronic money and card-based payment instruments significantly influence the acceleration of the velocity of money. In the short term, the development of electronic money and card-based payment instruments significantly influences the acceleration of the velocity of money, with different direction coefficient patterns. This different direction happens because both of them are money substitutes held by the community. In the long run, the two variables significantly influence the acceleration of the velocity of money in different directions. APMK has a positive effect, while electronic money has a negative sign on the acceleration of the velocity of money. Suggestions include the need to increase the use of electronic-based payments more broadly, and further research using the development of currency and demand deposits, as well as national income.

Abstract

As part of the financial system, sharia banking, is also related to macroeconomic stability together with real sector and infrastructure performance. When macroeconomic performance is worsen, financial stability will get the push impact through the increase of NPL (Non Performing Loan). For better understanding of the dinamic pattern of sharia banking's NPL if there is any sock, an impuls response function and varance decomposition is conducted in this study. Macroeconomic shock, in general, will be positively responsed by NPL, and will be stable at around 0% of its response after 3 years. Macroeconomic factor contributes 17.31% for the variability of NPL. While the rest, 82.69%, is the NPL itself. The dominance of internal factor shows that the effort to lower the NPL is more focused on the internal factor. The implication of this study is that sharia banking must continously increase their funding expantion, not only for the small and medium enterprises but also for the other medium industries. In addition, selective, prudent and profitability principles have to be continously applied, as well as more effort to market and advertise the funding of sharia banking in order to increase the sharia banking funding and decrease its NPL.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of non-cash payments and policy interest rates on the demand for money in Indonesia in the long and short term. The analysis method used is the Error Correction Model (ECM) with secondary data including electronic money, Card-Based Payment Instruments, BI-RTGS, SKNBI, policy interest rates and M2. The results showed that in the long run, electronic money and APMK had a positive and significant effect on the demand for money. SKNBI and BI-RTGS had a negative and significant effect on demand for money. “In the short term, APMK has a positive and significant effect on money demand. E-Money, SKNBI and BI-RTGS both have positive and insignificant effects on money demand. Policy interest rates have a negative and insignificant effect on money demand in the long and short term. The implication of this research is that in the future there will be more and more people transacting non-cash because it is considered safer, easier and faster. In addition, the demand for base money is reduced which in turn can affect the implementation of the central bank's duties in implementing monetary policy, especially controlling monetary amounts. The development of information technology will have implications for the reduced role of base money in payment transactions.

Abstract

East Java has a big role in supplying agricultural product for nasional logistic. The problems are not completely resolved, regional development planning should integrate sectoral and spatial approach. The focus of study is to analyze the linkage of rice production to other sectors, in order to develop rice production. Research using the Input-Output models, Location Quotient to measure the degree of relative specialization of a region, and DEA to measure the performance of spatial efficiency. The result used IO table in 2010, contributors backward linkage of paddy sector are paddy sector itself, fertilizer and pesticide sector, also agriculture services and hunting, while the backward linkage contributors are paddy sector itself, rice sector, and food products and beverages. Spatially there are 28 areas that are able to serve the market of paddy products. If related to production efficiency, there are nine areas are included in the category of efficient production, with input in the form of land, and the number of farmers. Policy Implication related to the findings of input output approach, are the affordability of input proces, the streamlined of input distributing system, and the goes on education and information to the farmer about input usage. Whereas, related to the spatial aspect, in soft infrastructure as strengthening internal capacity of farmer and instructor. In the other hand, hard structure aspect especially restoration of irrigation, allocating best seed and fertilizer for farmer.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1) to examine how much influence economic and non-economic factors have on the movement of the Jakarta Composite Index (CSPI), (2) to examine the most dominant factor in the movement of the Composite Stock Price Index (CSPI). The method in this study uses monthly data and is processed using the Vector Auto Regression (VAR) analysis technique. the results of the variance decomposition test before social / political turmoil showed that the most dominant contribution was recorded at the CSPI itself 61 percent, with economic factors 21 percent and non-economic factors 18 percent. However, the results of the variance decomposition test after social / political turmoil showed that the most dominant contribution was recorded in non-economic factors, 52 percent, with economic factors 36 percent, and CSPI itself at 18 percent. Thus, there are differences before and after social / political turmoil

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of monetary policy as seen from the BI Rate and the money supply (M2, and fiscal policy as seen from government spending and tax revenue in influencing the unemployment rate in Indonesia. The approach used in this research is quantitative. The data used are the BI Rate, the money supply (M2), government spending, tax revenue and unemployment in the form of time series data in an annual form from 1995 to 2019. The method used in this study is the Vector Auto analysis model. Regression (VAR). The stages used in this research test are a stationarity test, optimum lag test, VAR stability test, impulse response test, and variance decomposition test. The results of the impulse response indicate that the unemployment variable responds most to the shock of the interest rate variable (monetary policy) compared to other variables. The results of variance decomposition indicate that the contribution given by the BI Rate to the unemployment rate is the most significant relative to the contribution given by the variable money supply (M2), government spending, and tax revenue
