Abstract

Introduction: Preventive management of hypertension sufferers is a priority in the health care system to prevent morbidity and mortality. One of the ways to treat hypertension is to do a diet program by implementing DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) which can control blood pressure. DASH is a method to control hypertension by adjusting diet including sodium intake. energy intake, amount and type of protein, as well as fat and carbohydrate components. Objective: The purpose of community service activities is to provide education about the application of DASH and provide health services to people with hypertension. Method: The method of community service activities is education and data collection using interviews and questionnaires. The activity was carried out for 3 days from March 31 to April 2, 2022 in the working area of ​​the Puhjarak Health Center, Kediri Regency. Participants in the counseling were patients with hypertension. The counseling participants were 20 people.   Result: The result of knowledge before being given education shows sufficient understanding about the implementation of DASH. Good supporting facilities and infrastructure have an influence on the implementation of DASH on a person. Lack of knowledge caused some participants to not get sufficient access to reach the correct information. Hypertension sufferers who are less active in seeking information and the inefficient implementation of health promotion is a significant cause of the lack of understanding and adherence of hypertension sufferers to the application of DASH. Conclusion: Efforts to prevent and treat hypertension are carried out through health education for the community. The government through health services seeks to improve health promotion through communication, information and education. Providing education to the public can increase knowledge, awareness and desire of the community to prevent hypertension.

Abstract

Introduction: Patients with hypertension often complain of dizziness/headache, sore or heavy neck and insomnia. People who suffer from hypertension have a risk of poor sleep disorders or insomnia. Patients with hypertension cannot sleep well or insomnia due to dizziness, difficulty breathing, noise and difficulty starting to sleep. Objective: The purpose of this public service activities is to provide education about how to reduce insomnia in people with hypertension so that their sleep quality is better. Method: This public service was conducted by measuring the level of insomnia in patients with hypertension using the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) questionnaire. The activity was carried out for 2 days on 9-10 September 2022 in the working area of the Bendo Health Center, Kediri Regency. The counseling participants totaled 27 people. After the assessment is carried out, then proceed with providing counseling or education about the management of insomnia experienced by people with hypertension. Result: The results of the interview showed that most of the people (44%) as many as 12 people had good knowledge. The level of education is one of the sociocultural factors that can affect a person's knowledge and understanding of information. A high level of education can enable individuals to access and understand information about health so that someone who has the knowledge to choose strategies in overcoming insomnia. If a person's level of education is low, it will hinder the development of a person's attitude towards receiving information and newly introduced values. Conclusion: Nurses as health workers who play a role in promotive functions, try to do prevention through education so that complications do not continue and get worse. Efforts to overcome insomnia by means of reflexology, relaxation techniques, changing sleep/wake schedules, drinking milk before bed and avoiding nap habits. The family plays an active role in providing motivation, supervision and assistance to a family member who suffers from chronic diseases such as hypertension.

Abstract

Health services in health facilities have changed since the pandemic, such as health services currently focused on handling Covid-19 which has disrupted other health services and affected the level of community satisfaction due to changes in the current focus of health services. Satisfaction is a form of individual assessment of the services provided which is manifested as a feeling of pleasure. The purpose of community service activities is to provide education on how to use good and correct health services during a pandemic so that people feel satisfied with the health services provided by health workers. Education or counseling will be held on February 3-5, 2022, at RT 02 RW 07 Dusun Mlilir, Cikaran Village, Purwoasri District, Kediri Regency. The counseling participants who attended were 25 people. The number of students who participated in the activity was 2 students. The method used is lecture, discussion/question and answer using leaflet media, explanation of material using LCD and laptop media. The results of interviews and filling out questionnaires about satisfaction with health care services during the pandemic, it was found that almost half of the respondents had a high level of satisfaction, and a small portion had low satisfaction. The strategy is to realize patient satisfaction with the services provided through the characteristics, physical form, guarantee, care, and reliability factors of health workers. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the health care system. The pandemic period requires a balance between the needs of handling the pandemic and the fulfillment of essential health services. Basic health services to the community are provided in a balanced manner for all disease conditions with the aim that when the pandemic is over there will be no increase in cases of chronic disease.

Abstract

Abstract   Introduction: Food poisoning can cause complaints of dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and even severe symptoms that can cause death. Signs and symptoms of food poisoning vary depending on the ingredients and amount of food consumed. Early recognition of signs and symptoms is needed for fast and appropriate treatment. Objective: The purpose of this service was provide insight and understanding about the management of food poisoning, especially in the school environment Method: The method of implementing activities is through education. The activity was carried out for 2 days on 29 – 30 September 2023 at SMK NU Pare. Participants are students of SMK NU Pare. Participants 29 people. Result: The results of the evaluation before being given education showed that almost half of the respondents with a percentage of 48.3% had the criteria for lacking knowledge, as many as 14 teenagers. The results of the evaluation after being provided with education showed that almost all respondents with a percentage of 86.2% had good knowledge criteria regarding first aid for food poisoning. Conclusion: Knowledge about handling food poisoning will influence attitudes and concern to be ready to anticipate food poisoning. Food poisoning emergencies can be handled immediately if you are prepared to deal with food poisoning incidents because you already know how to properly handle food poisoning.
