Abstract

In weekend pastoral activities, students are directly involved in the life of the people of faith, including in the Catholic Children Community Development (BIAK). The goal to be achieved is to find out the role of weekend pastoral ministers in the implementation of Catholic Children Faith (BIAK) catechesis in St. Vincentius a Paulo parish, Malang. The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach with 3 groups of informants, namely the learders of communities, BIAK coaches and weekend pastoral ministers. The results showed that 8 out of 9 communities have BIAK groups and only 1 community does not have a BIAK group. All weekend pastoral ministers play roles in assisting the BIAK groups. They assist the BIAK group to be more creative and energetic, especially in terms of songs. They bring preparations before teaching, bring the necessary tools, so that the implementation of BIAK coaching is more creative and enjoyable.

Abstract

Every human being has different problems in his life, both problems with himself and his environment. Life problems and destructive problems are very varied, for example; heart, disappointment, depression, emotional wounds, and physical conditions that experience obstacles. This situation is very much needed by pastoral companions to help others in overcoming real problems The assistance given pays attention to several aspects, namely physical, mental, social and spiritual. In pastoral care must meet the spiritual needs of blind children. This study aims to see the implementation, inhibiting factors and support for the pastoral assistance of blind children at the Bhakti Luhur Malang Foundation. The research was conducted at the Bhakti Luhur Foundation guest houses, using a descriptive qualitative approach through the method (Case Study). The results of the research are based on interviews regarding the implementation of pastoral assistance for blind children at the Bhakti Luhur Foundation, according to the person in charge of the guesthouse, in general, it has been carried out according to schedule, sometimes it is not carried out due to other tasks. According to the nurse, sometimes it is done, sometimes it is not because the nurse does not understand mentoring children with visual impairment. The sisters said, still carrying out the ups and downs, asked the expert team. Inhibiting factors according to the person in charge and the nurse; laziness, new tasks happening at the same time. According to the ALMA Sisters, the inhibiting factor; the condition of blind children is very severe. Supporting factors; the person in charge, the ALMA Sisters and the nurses have the same answer; availability of facilities and infrastructure, following technological developments. Thus the research results show that the implementation of mentoring at the Bhakti Luhur Foundation has been carried out according to schedule, but sometimes it is not optimal, it needs to be considered by stakeholders.

Abstract

The five points of spiritual life are the basis of ALMA PUTERI's spiritual life which have been applied since the initial training period, namely the aspirants, postulants and novices. The goal is to develop a deep spiritual life that is focused on surrender and pure devotion to Christ in the fellowship of ALMA PUTERI. Meditation and Bible Reading are included in the daily activities in spiritual formation, which are continuously improved so that they take root in ALMA PUTERI Junior members. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of reflection and reading of the Bible for ALMA PUTERI Junior members, as well as examine the extent to which the ALMA PUTERI Junior members are active in applying meditation and Bible reading. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data obtained in this study were based on the results of interviews, observations and documentation of the 5 main informants of the ALMA PUTERI Junior members and 3 additional informants in charge of the guesthouse. The results of the study show that the application of meditation is less effective, while the application of reading scriptures is effective for the development of the spiritual life of ALMA PUTERI Junior members in the Dieng Bhakti Luhur Complex, Malang.

Abstract

Diversity of culture, ethnicity, language is not only a wealth or treasure in living together, but can also threaten unity, harmony and harmony. Conflicts between cultures, ethnicities and languages ​​often occur in social life. This has a negative impact not only on inter-ethnic life, but also on religious life. The purpose of this study is to examine the threat aspect of cultural diversity, as an opportunity to build and strengthen a sense of brotherhood, love for others and uphold mutual respect and respect for differences as the capital of religious and social life by students of SMAK Bhakti Luhur Malang. The method used by the researcher is a qualitative method. The researcher used a descriptive approach. Sources of data are students in grades 1, II and III. The researcher chose 3 students as representatives of the population. In addition, data was also taken from teachers and school principals. The technique of determining the informant uses a purpose sampling technique. Researchers also refer to research results that have been published in national journals in order to map the novelty of this research. The data collection technique is open interview. The instrument used by the researcher was a list of questions. The analysis technique goes through three stages, namely reduction, display and data verification. The author concludes that tensions and conflicts are caused by a lack of understanding and awareness in addressing ethnic, linguistic and cultural differences. The development of local culture in schools as a constructive step in order to develop religious values. Therefore, it is necessary to liven up local cultural values ​​as a living laboratory for students so that they can be used as a basis for developing an attitude of religious moderation in the wider community.

Abstract

Children with down syndrome experience various obstacles, such as fine motor and gross motor impairment. Gross motor and fine motor barriers will affect various daily activities even though they are very simple. Down syndrome children, motor skills are very low because their intelligence is also low. The low fine motor skills of children with down syndrome cause many obstacles. Fine motor barriers in the form of folding, colouring, drawing, painting, cutting, scraping and scribbling with crayons. The condition of fine motor skills in scribbling using crayons is very lacking, so it is necessary regularly. Fine motor skills are developed so that the ability to move small muscles is more mature in preparation to help children with down syndrome write. This study aims to prove that practising scribbling with crayons can improve fine motor skills in children with down syndrome. With this type of experimental design research used pre-experimental in the form of one group pretest-postest. The research was carried out at Wisma Bhakti Luhur consisting of 4 children with down syndrome. Based on the results obtained after being tread with scribbling with crayons for 4 children with down syndrome, there was an increase for JH, RZ in the practice of crossing out straight lines, crossing out upwards, crossing out downwards, crossing out siksak, crossing out, crossing out triangles, getting an average score of 12,5%. RL: crossing out a straight line, crossing out up, crossing out down, crossing out siksak, crossing out, crossing out triangles got an average score of 15%. Meanwhile SN: crossing out a straight line, crossing out up, crossing out down, crossing out siksak, crossing out, crossing out triangles got an average score of 32,5%.

Abstract

Deaf children are children who experience obstacles in getting access to language sounds through the sense of hearing so that their language development experiences obstacles, especially the development of spoken language. The development of spoken language in everyday life is a communication tool that is widely used by people in interacting with each other. Difficulty in interacting with people experienced by deaf children, thus requiring the application of an appropriate total communication model. The application of total communication can be used as an alternative to convey feelings/thoughts/ideas to others. There are various models of total communication, namely total oral, manual, aural and graphic communication. The application of total communication should be adapted to the needs and characteristics of deaf children. In the application of total communication, it really requires the cooperation of teachers, therapists and parents to train deaf children so that they can develop well. This research was conducted on 3 deaf children at Bhakti Luhur. The purpose of this study was to describe the application of a total communication model for deaf children. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data obtained in this study were based on the results of interviews, observations of 3 main informants of deaf children and 2 additional informants who were in charge of the homestead. The results of the study indicate that the application of the total communication model is less effective.

Abstract

Remaka merupakan tulang punggung Gereja yang membutuhkan pembinaan iman yang intensif sesuai dengan usianya. Pembinaan iman yang intensif mampu mengarahkan remaka untuk menjadi pribadi yang ikut bertanggung jawab dengan imanya serta bertumbuh demi perkembangan Gereja dan bangsa. Remaka sering disebut sebagai generasi penerus Gereja dan bangsa. Pernyataan ini mengarahkan para pemerhati dan semua lapisan masayarakat untuk senantiasa memperhatikan, mendampingi remaka dalam setiap kegiatan rohani maupun pendidikan lainnya. Kegiatan kerohanian membantu remaka menjadi pribadi yang dewasa dan siap menghadapi berbagai tantangan dimasa mendatang,serta menjadi pribadi yang tangguh, kokoh, kuat dalam menghadapi berbagai tantangan. Dengan demikian sangat dibutuhkan berbagai metode pembinaan yang menarik misalnya dengan metode sekutu. Metode sekutu merupakan metode yang digunakan dalam mengembangkan iman remaja untuk membentuk karakter saling membantu. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui apakah metode sekutu dapat meningkatkan keaktifan remaka dalam mengikuti pembinaan iman. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif, dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui hasil observasi dan wawancara, tentang keaktifan remaka dalam kegiatan pembinaan iman misalnya kehadiran, berdoa, bernyanyi, sharing dan tanyajawab. Sumber data yang diperoleh 5 responden. Dengan hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa metode sekutu dapat meningkatkan keaktifan remaka hingga mencapai 85,5%.

Abstract

Situasi dan perkembangan zaman menggiring manusia pada nilai-nilai duniawi. Perkawinan Katolik dan keutuhan keluarga Katolik dihadapkan pada tantangan yang sama. Pembaharuan janji perkawinan adalah salah satu jalan untuk membendung tantangan zaman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi dan makna pembaharuan janji perkawinan oleh pasutri Katolik. Metode yang dipakai adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Desain penelitian yakni pendekatan fenomenologi. Penelitian dilakukan di Paroki St. Maria dari Fatima Kesatrian Malang, Provinsi Jawa Timur. Waktu penelitian Juli sampai Desember 2022. Dalam penelitian ini, kami mengambil 15 pasutri sebagai sumber utama atau informan kunci dengan klasifikasi usia perkawinan 1-5 tahun, 6-20 tahun dan 20-an tahun ke atas. Prosedur pengumpulan data yakni wawancara dan bentuk wawancara yakni semi terstruktur. Teknik analisis data terdiri dari tiga tahap yakni membaca data, organisasi data dan menentukan tema. Kesimpulan, pembaharuan janji perkawinan lahir dari kesadaran pasangan suami istri akan makna terdalam dari Sakramen Perkawinan. Pembaharuan perkawinan sarana untuk memelihara dan merawat janji nikah dan komitmen satu sama lain dalam hidup perkawinan. Dengan demikian, makna pembaharuan janji perkawinan adalah agar semakin saling percaya, total dalam menjalankan hidup bersama, saling melengkapi dan bertanggung jawab terhadap pilihan dan setia pada janji nikah serta menghidupkan kembali cinta Kristus kepada gereja-Nya yang tercermin dalam hubungan suami dan istri.
