Abstract

Early initiation of breastfeeding (IMD) is one of the government's policy can reduce the neonatal mortality rate (AKN) and increase the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding. The Failure of IMD and exclusive breastfeeding can be the one of causes for children have poor nutritional status. The purpose of this research is to examine of early initiation of breastfeeding for exclusive breastfeeding and to know the relationship with nutritional status of children. The research sample as many as 130 people by using purposive sampling. This study using quantitative methods, with cross-sectional design. Data collection instruments such as questionnaires, and measuring the children's height and weight. Data Analysis used to find results of contribution about relationship between IMD and exclusive breastfeeding was with chi-square test, and used to find results of correlation with nutritional status was carried with the Pearson Correlation and Lamda tests. The results showed that there was a relationship Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) (p =0,00) OR (6,7) CI 95%. Analyzed showed that dominant risk factor of early initiation of breastfeeding is early initiation of breastfeeding. And than for the results of IMD with nutritional status showed that (r = 0.00) that's mean it does not have a strong correlation.

Abstract

The process of growth and development is closely related to health factors, in other words, only healthy children can be expected to have an optimal growth and development process. Although the process of child growth and development takes place naturally, the process is very dependent on adults or parents. The reason this study aims to see the relationship that occurs with children aged 0-5 years on their growth and development of various variables in the history of childbirth, including normal/premature birth, baby's weight, and the type of delivery whether normal or caesarean section. This study used a cross sectional approach. The results of this study found that the history of births with growth and development of children aged 0-5 years in the working area of the Grogol Sukoharjo Community Health Center. The data and results of this study can be used as a reference that the type of birth and delivery that is not normal has no effect on the growth and development of children aged 0-5 years.

Abstract

Abstract

The growth and development of children aged 0-6 months is an important stage to achieve optimal quality of life. Parents have an important role in stimulating child growth and development early on in child growth and development. Problems that occur in children of this age, one of which is gross motor development due to parents' lack of understanding of child development. Education in the form of health literacy discusses growth and development and how to stimulate according to age so that parents can apply what has been taught. The aim is to determine changes in the level of understanding of parents when given growth and development education about gross motor development of children aged 0-6 months. This study used a quantitative research design with a type of quay experimental research, a one- group pre-test-post-test approach. The number of samples was 44 respondents with the purposive sampling method. The variables of this study are independent, namely parents' understanding of child growth and development measured by questionnaires, and dependent variables, namely gross motor development of children aged 0-6 months measured by ASQ (Ages and stages questionnaire). Data analysis techniques used were univariate test, normality test, and effect test. The effect test using Wilcoxon showed the sig result (2-tailed) was 0.000 <0.05, meaning there is a significant effect. It can be concluded that there is an effect of growth and development education on parents' level of understanding about the gross motor development of children aged 0-6 months.

Abstract

Background: The golden period is the early life of a child where at the age of 0-5 years there is a very rapid brain development that affects motor development. The importance of motor development stimulation can improve and optimize growth and development, one of the stimulations that can be given is brain gym: The golden period is the early life of a child where at the age of 0-5 years there is a very rapid brain development that affects motor development. The importance of stimulating motor development can improve and optimize growth and development, one of the stimulations that can be given is brain gym. Research Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of brain gym on gross motor development of preschool children. Research Methods: This research design is a pretest-posttest group design with a control group. The sample was preschool children aged 4-6 years totaling 34 people consisting of intervention group (15 people) and control group (19 people). The gross motor measurement instrument used the Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (TGMD-2) technique. Brain gym was given 2 times per week for 4 weeks. Results: The mean TGMD-2 score of the intervention group increased after being given brain gym by 1.17 points. The mean TGMD-2 score of the control group also increased by 0.16 points. The Man Whitney analysis results showed a p-value of 0.00 (value <0.05). Conclusion: Brain gym is effective in improving the gross motor development of preschool children.
