Abstract

MTs Muhammadiyah Wates applies a class selection model based on academic rankings. The application of this class selection model still uses manual means in determining the final score obtained by the students. Featured Classes are classes attended by a number of excellent students with above average intelligence. The grouping of excellent classes aims to have students who have almost the same learning ability in each class. Another goal of featured classes is that teachers will more easily set teaching standards. With the class has been grouped according to the ability of the class students, it is expected that students can receive learning materials optimally. The purpose of this study was to design the application of the Superior Class Selection Decision Support System in MTsMuhammadiyah Wates uses Weighted Product method. This method was chosen because it is able to select the best alternatives from a number of alternative advantages in weighting techniques, with the first step determining the weight value that has been determined, determining the criteria of initial weight assessment and calculation of alternative value results. The study used 23 student data and assessments obtained from the results of grades for two semesters in the seventh grade by applying five criteria. These five criteria are average raport value, raport un score (Bahasa Indonesia, English, Mathematics, Science), psychotest value, interview value and attendance. Data analysis applies the Weighted Product method, which will be computerized with various criteria. From the results of tests conducted using confusion matrix resulted in accuracy value of 86.9%, precision of 81.8%, and recall of 100%. The results of this study prove that Weighted Product can be used in the assessment of superior classes in MTs Muhammadiyah Wates.
