Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the direct effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health complaints of elementary school children across West Java. In addition, the specific aim of this study was to obtain empirical evidence on student health complaints during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method of this study was to use self-made and validated instruments. Data analysis using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 24. The population in this study was elementary school students in West Java. For this study, the number of samples used was adjusted to match elementary school students across West Java drawn at simple random so that 1,867 students were offset. In this study, an instrument in the form of a questionnaire is used and then the data is checked against a Likert scale. The results showed: The students' health complaints during the Covid-19 pandemic were as follows: hypokinetic illness or sedentary lifestyle (60%), decreased physical fitness (60%), decreased immunity (60%), weight gain (62%), Feeling fatter (57%), sleeping irregularly (44%), slightly tired (15%), weak and less energetic (16%), heartburn (8%), frequent dizziness (7%), getting sick easily (flu) ) (14%). Other effects experienced by students include decreased immunity, decreased physical fitness, decreased cardiovascular ability, and frequent injuries

Abstract

Physical activity positively impacts cognitive function and can help avoid cognitive impairment. The study aimed to investigate the association between cognitive function and physical activity in junior high school students in Bandung. This research is quantitative research with a correlation analytic design. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire. The sampling technique used is a random sample, the sample is 1870 respondents. The questionnaire used in this study is a closed questionnaire, which is a questionnaire whose answers have been provided so that respondents only need to choose. The study found that half of the respondents with less activity experienced less cognitive function (71,8%). Almost half of the respondents had a physical activity with good cognitive function (21.6%), and a small proportion of physical activity experienced quite a number of cognitive functions (8.6%). There is a relationship between physical activity and function cognitive in students. The results of this study are expected to be taken into consideration for further research by examining other factors related to cognitive function and other factors related to physical activity, such as gender, socioeconomic, and family factors.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between student nutritional status and learning outcomes, especially physical education in junior high schools in Bandung City, West Java Province. The research used is correlational. The population of this study amounted to 98,289 students. Sampling using a simple random sampling technique. The research sample amounted to 1870 students. This study uses primary data that is obtained from the measurement of the nutritional status of students and secondary data from physical education teachers in Bandung. The data collection tool measures nutritional status based on body mass index and learning outcomes with student scores from teachers. The data were analyzed by correlational statistics through a computerized process using the SPSS program. From the study results, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between nutritional status and learning outcomes for both male and female students in junior high school. Further research by examining other factors related to BMI and other factors related to learning outcomes, such as socioeconomic and family factors.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of the pandemic Covid -19 on the active life behavior of junior high school students in West Java. The populace used became junior high college students in West Java, and a random sample of 1854 college students was represented from each district. The sampling method used an easy random technique (random sampling). The studies approach used a descriptive quantitative approach. The tool became a physical activity questionnaire for kids (PAQ-C). Data evaluation using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 24, the outcomes are as follows: The active life conduct of junior excessive school students before the pandemic Covid-19 changed into distributed within the mildest class as many as 1099 humans (59%) and at some point of the Covid-19 pandemic the highest distribution turned into within the low category as many as 1,075 humans (58%). Physical sports completed using junior high school college students in West Java before the pandemic Covid-19 were jogging, conventional sports, soccer, volleyball, badminton, basketball, futsal, self-protection, energy education, gymnastics, and even physical activities in the course of the pandemic Covid-19 have been sunbathing, walking, jogging, cycling. Maximum bodily interests are assisting the aged. For the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic, the impact on college students' physical hobbies reduced from the medium category to the low class.

Abstract

Changes and implementations of the new curriculum require a careful preparation and information about the Independent Curriculum, known as Kurikulum Merdeka. The learning model used needs to be explored as an illustration of teacher understanding. This study aimed to examine teacher perspectives regarding their understanding of the Kurikulum Merdeka and the Sport Education Learning Model. The cross-sectional survey method was used to collect data. Data were collected using Google Form filled by 74 teachers. The research instrument was in a Likert scale form and consisted of 30 questions focused on exploring teacher understanding of the Kurikulum Merdeka, the Sport Education (SEM) Learning Model, the SEM Phases/Syntax, and the roles existing in the implementation of the SEM Model and the importance of understanding curriculum and learning models in school. Then, 15 open-ended questions related to models often used by teachers, training expectations to follow, and obstacles experienced during learning at school were given. The research data were processed using Winsteps 5.2.3 software. The Rasch Model analysis was used to analyze the instruments made and the results of the teacher understanding perspective. The results showed that the instrument was valid for use. Related to the results of the teacher perspective, 48.6% of physical education teachers had an understanding and belief in the importance of the Kurikulum Merdeka and the SEM model in elementary schools at a high level. Meanwhile, 12. 2% were at the moderate level and 39.2% were at the low level. These findings can be used as a reflection related to the teacher understanding of the Kurikulum Merdeka and the Sport Education Learning Model and as a reference in arranging training needed for Physical Education teachers in the field.
