Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the impact of implementing online learning on the cognitive abilities of students in class XI SMAK St. Francis of Assisi Larantuka. This study uses a qualitative method. The informants in this study consisted of students, homeroom teachers, subject teachers, and parents. Data collection techniques used interviews and documentation studies, while data analysis techniques consisted of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of the study showed that the cognitive development of students in class XI SMAK St. Francis of Assisi Larantuka while participating in online learning was very low. The influencing factors are the learning methods applied by the teacher, infrastructures such as gadgets, data pulses, networks, parental support, and attention and awareness of the students themselves being less than optimal. The efforts made are that teachers need to prepare creative and innovative learning using relevant methods in accordance with science and technology developments, provision and assistance of learning facilities for students, and regular evaluation of the entire learning process that has been implemented.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan hal mendasar bagi setiap manusia. Setiap orang tua mempunyai peran yang sangat penting dalam pendidikan anak.Saat ini, banyak orang tua yang lebih sibuk bekerja untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan keluarga dan sering mengesampingkan tugas utama mereka sebagai pendidik iman dalam keluarga. Kebiasaan beribadah bersama dalam keluarga sudah jarang dilakukan akibat perkembangan IPTEK. Hal ini yang mendasar utama kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan di wilayah Paroki St. Petrus Pariti – Sulamu Keuskupan Agung Kupang. Pemilihan mitra ini berdasarkan analisis situasi yang dilakukan oleh tim sebelum pengabdian dilaksanakan. Lokasi mitra ini pun masih termasuk dalam jangkauan wilayah Keuskupan Agung Kupang, sehingga sebagai lembaga yang menghasilkan profil lulusan pendidik dan Pembina iman umat, maka pendampingan kelompok kategorial khususnya keluarga-keluarga katolik juga menjadi tanggung jawab dari lembaga pendidikan STIPAS Keuskupan Agung Kupang.Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk merevitalisasi peran dari orang tua dalam mendidik anak-anaknya, khususnya dalam hal pendidikan iman. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah gabungan antara pendidikan masyarakat dan SCP (Shared Christian Praxis) yang lebih menekankan pada pendekatan dialogal dan partisipatif, yang terdiri dari 3 tahapan yaitu tahap persiapan, pemaparan materi dan tahap evaluasi. Peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan tersebut terdiri dari orang tua, orang muda katolik dan anak-anak SEKAMI. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah peserta khususnya orang tua yang mengikuti kegiatanmenjadi paham akan tugas mereka sebaai pendidik pertama dan utama serta semakin termotivasi untuk mendampingi perkembangan iman anak-anak mereka.Pendampingan secara kontinyu, spiritualitas dan pastoral keluarga menjadi sangat penting dalam proses pendampingan dan penguatan para keluarga katolik di Paroki St. Petrus Pariti – Sulamu

Abstract

Perayaan Ekaristi merupakan puncak ibadat orang katolik. Dalam melaksanakan tata perayaan Ekaristi umat turut berpartisispasi secara langsung baik sebagai umat biasa maupun sebagi petugas-petugas liturgi, seperti Misdinar. Misdinar pada umumnya adalah anak-anak dan remaja yang bertugas untuk melayani imam di altar selama perayaan Ekaristi berlangsung. Peran dan fungsi misdinar membantu umat sehingga dapat berdoa dengan tenang. Ketika misdinar melakukan suatu kesalahan maka umat akan merasa terganggu dan situasi doa menjadi tidak tentram. Metode yang dipakai dalam pengabdian ini adalah sosialisasi, pendampingan dan pelatihan kepada para misdinar sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas ketrampilan, ilmu dan iman yang berguna bagi diri sendiri, Tuhan dan sesama. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan kualitas para misdinar dalam melaksanakan tugas dan fungsinya, menumbuhkan rasa percaya diri, dan meningkatakan ketrampilan, ilmu dan iman pada Sakraman maha Kudus. Hasilnya para misdinar lebih memahami fungsi dan peranan mereka dengan baik, lebih percaya diri dan terampil dalam bertugas. Kegiatan ini juga memberikan efek pada peningkatan pengetahuan, kemampuan dan ketrampilan di masa depan yakni sebagai pelayan Tuhan dan sesama.

Abstract

The Indonesian state hopes that every religious follower will have an attitude of tolerance in social life. This tolerance is alsoexpected to be realized in the campus environment for students. The focus of this research is to study the attitude of tolerance between religious communities in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church in the Second Vatican Council document "Nostra Aetate" which explains that the Catholic Church does not reject anything from other religions that is considered true. The method used in this research is descriptive naturalistic. The results of this research show that religious tolerance is allowing and not interrupting other people's religious activities in social interactions or in establishing social relationships. Religious tolerance also means not picking and choosing, not having negative or negative prejudices against other religions, religious fanaticism, considering other religions as infidels, insulting other religious symbols. Kupang city university students have implemented an attitude of tolerance in social interactions. They respect and respect each other's religion and beliefs

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between social media and mental health of students in two pastoral colleges in Timor Region. The results of descriptive analysis showed that the majority of students (69.81%) actively use social media, while most of them (69.88%) have a good level of mental health. Inferential analysis showed a t-value of 3.307 with a significance level of 0.001, which is significantly lower than the general threshold of 0.05. This indicates that there is strong evidence that social media use has a positive and significant effect on the mental health of students in both pastoral colleges. Recommendations from this study include efforts to improve understanding of the risks and benefits of social media use through targeted education. In addition, it is recommended to develop a policy on responsible social media use in the academic environment. Counseling support and resources related to mental health also need to be improved to provide more effective assistance to students in managing their mental health. This study makes an important contribution to expanding the understanding of the impact of social media on mental health in the context of pastoral higher education. The practical implications of these findings are expected to assist educational institutions in developing more holistic strategies to support overall student well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the implementation of the Child Protection Law on the practice of giving punishment at Sint Carolus Catholic High School, Kupang. This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational approach. The results of data analysis using descriptive techniques indicate that the implementation of the Child Protection Law at Sint Carolus Catholic High School, Kupang is very good (93.13%) and the giving of punishment is very good (90.21%). In addition, the results of a simple linear regression analysis show a significant positive effect between the implementation of the Child Protection Law and the giving of punishment (regression coefficient = 0.922, p < 0.05). Even though there is an effect between these two variables, the most important thing to note is that the use of punishment in education must be educational and not exceed the limits regulated by the Child Protection Law. This finding illustrates that although punishment at Sint Carolus Catholic High School, Kupang is implemented well, it is necessary to continue to monitor it so as not to violate children's rights. The implications of this study suggest the need for a more careful approach in giving punishment in order to be in accordance with the objectives of educating and protecting children.
