Abstract

Bushing is a bearing between movable and immovable components. These spare parts function are to hold the rotating shaft and through the gear box into the shaft which is held by the brass material bushing, where those processes are able to reduce the vibrations and the shock of shock loads. The purpose of this research is to know the level of roughness and wear rate of brass bushing, this research is conducted to find out how efficient it is, the use of a bushing with a field that is very likely to have a large shock load and to know the wear test data, and roughness of the brass bushing. The type of this research used an experimental method. From the results of the study it was concluded that to get the roughness and wear value using a conventional lathe, the spindle rotation was 970 rpm. Based on the experiments with predetermined parameters, the lowest roughness value was Ra 1.13 and the highest roughness was Ra 2.41. In the experiments for the wear test of each specimen, the wear rate obtained after the initial weight was subtracted from the third one hour weight, from the lightest of 0.07 grams and the heviest of 1.62 grams.

Abstract

AC (Air Conditioner) is one of the cooling machines, whose use is currently increasing. One important component that helps cooling the AC (Air Conditioner) is the refrigerant. Refrigerant is a kind of material or substance in the form of liquid and gas which is usually flowed in the refrigeration machine installation. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance (COP), electrical energy consumption, and cooling rate from the use of refrigerants R134a and MC-22. The independent variables in this research are refrigerant R134a and refrigerant MC-22. The dependent variable in this study is COP (Coefficient of Performance), electrical energy consumption, and cooling rate. The control variable in this study was using time variations. The research material is refrigerant R134a and MC-22 The results of this study showed that R134a refrigerant has a better COP value than MC-22 refrigerant, where the COP value at 60 minutes for R134a refrigerant is 8.6 while for MC-22 refrigerant is 8.0. At 60 minutes the use of refrigerant R134a, the electrical energy used is 385.00 W.h. Meanwhile, 60 minutes of the use of refrigerant MC-22, the electrical energy used is 455.40 W.h.

Abstract

Iron-based production machine components are chosen to support productivity. Steel is a metal material that is easily found on the market, but it has not fulfilled the desires of consumers in the market. This steel can be hardened by heat treatment (heat treatment). The surface treatment process is carried out to obtain the desired hardness, this can be done by increasing the carbon (C) element in the steel material, the carbon content in the standard steel structure is 0.3% - 0.59% the carbon content will have an effect. on hardness, one way to increase the element carbon (C) in steel and increase the hardness on its surface is by carburizing. This research will examine the hardness level of low carbon steel by using a pack carburizing process with different times of 2; 2.5 and 3 hours and the quenching process with pure water media.. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of holding time on the pack carburizing process with coconut shell charcoal - barium carbonat on the hardness value of ST 42 steel. Besides that for effect of holding time on the pack carburizing process with coconut shell charcoal on the microstructure. There are differences in the surface hardness and microstructure values before and after the carburizing process. Where the highest hardness value occurs at a holding time of 3 hours with a hardness value of 872.9 HVN or an increase of 382% of the raw material and is supported by the dominance of the martensite phase which is more and more evenly distributed. Compared to the ST 42 steel raw material before the pack carburizing process was carried out, the hardness value was 174.8 HVN. A dominant microstructure consisting of a ferrite phase and a little bit of pearlite dominance.
