Abstract

This study aims to see how strong the relationship between reading manga habits and students' kanji abilities is. The design of this study is a correlation design. The population in this study amounted to 100 students. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling with a sample of 80 students. This study uses a questionnaire to see the habit of reading manga and a test to determine the students' kanji ability. The results of this study are: First, the average value of students' habits in reading manga is 77.33. Second, the students' kanji ability is 82.25. Third, the correlation coefficient of the two variables; manga reading habit and kanji ability is 0.784. Thus, the researcher proves that  is rejected and  is accepted, meaning that there is a significant relationship between students' habits in reading manga and students' kanji abilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang persepsi siswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran Flipped Classroom berbasis video pada pembelajaran moji goi atau pembelajaran huruf dan kosakata. Siswa yang menjadi responden penelitian adalah siswa semester satu dan tiga Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Universitas Negeri Padang. Kegiatan di kelas lebih terfokus kepada siswa daripada hanya menyimak penjelasan materi. Karena siswa sudah memahami konsep materi sebelum mengikut pembelajaran. Model ini efektif diterapkan  dalam pembelajaran moji goi yang banyak aktiftas driil secara mandiri. Instrument yang digunakan yaitu berupa angket terbuka, kemudian digunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menjabarkan hasil dan pembahasan. Dari penelitian ini dapat dipahami bahwa penerapan model ini pada perkuliahan sangat disukai oleh siswa, mereka menjadi lebih percaya diri dan kegiatan dikelas bisa lebih terfokus pada pemantapan materi.

Abstract

Sonkeigo and kenjougo are types of respectful language (keigo). This study aimed at describing the various forms of sonkeigo and kenjougo in Drama Ouroboros: Kono Ai Koso Seigi. Indicators of the types sonkeigo and kenjougo is based on the theory of Sudjianto and Dahidi. This study was a qualitative research with uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The data in this study using sentences that containing sonkeigo and kenjougo and the data source was a drama Ouroboros: Kono Ai Koso, Seigi. Data collection using the method of simak bebas libat cakap (SBLC) and notes. In data analysis using the Miles and Huberman models; data reduction, data display, and verification/conclusions. The result of this study were; 54 words of sonkeigo and 47 words of kenjougo.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa saja penyebab kesulitan belajar katakana pada siswa SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Padang. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 125 siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling yang berjumlah sebanyak 50 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dengan skala likert. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif dengan persentase. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa faktor eksternal lebih berpengaruh terhadap kesulitan belajar katakana dengan hasil sebesar 50,95% sedangkan faktor internal hanya berpengaruh sebesar 49,05%. Berdasarkan dari semua indikator faktor internal (kesehatan, intelegensi dan bakat, minat dan motivasi, cara belajar) masuk ke dalam kategori “tinggi”, indikator cara belajar merupakan indikator yang memiliki persentase paling rendah, dengan demikian cara belajarlah yang paling memiliki pengaruh paling tinggi terhadap penyebab kesulitan belajar katakana. Pada indikator faktor eksternal (keluarga, sekolah, masyarakat) masuk ke dalam kategori “tinggi”, akan tetapi indikator masyarakat memiliki persentase paling rendah, berdasarkan hal tersebut faktor masyarakat yang memiliki pengaruh paling tinggi terhadap penyebab kesulitan belajar katakana.

Abstract

This research discusses the types and meanings of kandoushi contained in the Doraemon comic volume 1, because it is motivated by the difficulty of understanding the meaning of kandoushi contained in a conversation so that it can cause misunderstanding in the interpretation of meaning. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The data in this study are words or sentences containing kandoushi spoken by the characters in the Doraemon comic volume 1. The instrument in this research is the researcher himself. In this research, 34 kandoushi data were found. Of the 34 kandoushi data, the author found 4 types of kandoushi which are divided into 18 kandoushi kandou, 5 kandoushi outou, 10 kandoushi yobikake, and 1 kandoushi aisatsugo. Kandoushi kandou consists of waa, a', e', are, nani, maa, aa, and hahaha, kandoushi outou consists of sou, iyadayo, namely, kandoushi yobikake consists of oi, ya, you, kora and saa, kandoushi aisatsugo consists of tadaima. Of the four types of kandoushi, the type that appears the most is kandoushi kandou. This is because there are many unexpected events caused by Doraemon's tools from the future, Doraemon introduces and uses the tools in the magic bag to the characters there. So that it makes a lot of dialog that contains the meaning of amazement, surprise, wonder and happiness. Therefore, this is the reason why kandoushi kandou is found more than other types of kandoushi.

Abstract

The trend of topics in language education research is affected by how authors convince readers about the issues being discussed. However, the persistence of the topic is not based on the number of scholars who have conducted the research, for instance, collaborative writing topics, but it focuses more on the newness to be contributed to the advancement of knowledge by indicating research gaps. Therefore, this qualitative study, which is specified into genre analysis, aims to describe the strategies for indicating research gaps and the area of gaps that are still needed to be fulfilled in the research of collaborative writing. A corpus consisting of 20 research article introductions (RAIs) published in highly reputable journals with high-impact factors was compiled and subjected to analyze, respectively (i.e., using the frameworks of Lim, 2012 and Ewijk, 2018) the types of research gap strategies and the areas of gaps that have been focused on by the authors. The findings show that the strategy of stating the absence of a specific area in the research of collaborative writing is employed in a vast majority (45.45%). Besides, the area of impact is found as the promising area of gap (occurred 24 times) that the authors tend to focus on. The pedagogical implications of this study are also discussed in this article.

Abstract

Vocabulary is something that must be mastered in order to communicate well and correctly. Based on observations during educational field practice (PLK) at SMAN 1 Koto Therefore, the solution given to overcome the problem of low student motivation and vocabulary is by using hiragana goi karuta media. The research is purpose to reveal the hiragana goi karuta media effect on students' vocabulary mastery in learning Japanese. This research included in quantitative research. This method for research is an method in experimental in the shape of a Quasi Experiment (quasi experiment). The design used in this research was a one group pretest posttest design through sample of 35 people. From the hypothesis test found in the paired sample t-test results, so the conclusion that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted at a level of significant is 0.05, because the sig value <0.05 (0.000<0.05) which means there is a significant difference from the pretest value results. and posttest. So, the conclusion the use of hiragana goi karuta media is effective in mastering the vocabulary of students at SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan.

Abstract

This article reports the findings of observations regarding the implementation of project-based learning (PjBL) in Intermediate Japanese Writing Courses (Chukyu Sakubun) at one university in Indonesia. The research instruments were observation and online questionnaire for 47 students who attended Chukyu Sakubun course. The project-based learning which is implemented in this course takes the form of a group writing activity with the output of the Tadoku reading books. The activity is divided into three stages: preparation stage, implementation stage, and evaluation stage. 15 tadoku books were produced with various genres. The results of the questionnaire explained that the majority of participants were actively involved in the process. Meanwhile, observation results show that during the project work process, students are able to communicate and collaborate with group members, as well as think critically and creatively in producing products.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai persepsi siswa terhadap pengimplementasian Tadoku atau ekstensif reading pada semester dua secara daring pada mata kuliah Shokyu Dokkai di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang, Universitas Negeri Padang.  Berbagai variasi level buku bacaan tadoku yang tersedia secara gratis pada berbagai website tadoku bahasa Jepang digunakan sebagai bahan bacaan oleh siswa. Empat aturan tadoku oleh Awano digunakan dalam penerapan tadoku di kelas. Dalam penelitian kualitatif ini, siswa didorong untuk membaca sebanyak mungkin buku tadoku selama 6 minggu dalam kelas dengan bimbingan secara daring dan di luar kelas secara mandiri. Data penelitian berupa open-ended questionnaire dan laporan bacaan siswa dianalisis untuk menemukan persepsi siswa terhadap tadoku. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki persepsi yang positif terhadap penerapan tadoku. Kegiatan tadoku dapat membentuk persepsi siswa menjadi positif terhadap kegiatan membaca bahasa Jepang. Siswa juga merasakan manfaat seperti lebih termotivasi dalam membaca teks bahasa Jepang, peningkatan kemampuan bahasa Jepang seperti pemerolehan kosakata baru, tatabahasa dan penggunaan huruf kanji, menambah pengetahuan tentang Jepang dan menjadi lebih percaya diri dalam membaca. Sebagai tambahan, siswa juga memiliki persepsi positif terhadap laporan bacaan. Terhadap empat aturan tadoku, siswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap aturan membaca dari yang mudah dan boleh mengganti buku yang terlalu sulit. Namun memiliki persepsi negatif terhadap aturan larangan membuka kamus dan mengabaikan kosakata sulit. Untuk mendapatkan manfaat tadoku, perlu diberikan bimbingan dan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam terhadap manfaat dari tadoku.
