Abstract

This research analyzed on passive sentences construction in the form of present and past tense. It focused on what types of passive sentences error made by  students and how do the students made errors. The aims of this research were to describe the types of passive sentences error and how the students made the errors. Qualitative research was the method of this research. The participants of this  research were the eleventh grade students of MIA at MA Assulaimaniyah Mojoagung consisting of 18 students. The data  of this research was the sentences of passive voice containing errors made by students. The findings showed that there were four types of error identified in passive sentences construction made by students: omission, addition, misfomation, and misordering. Most of students got difficulties in differentiating between regular and irregular verb in passive sentence construction. It can be concluded that the students are still lack of understanding of verb usage in passive sentence construction.

Abstract

The condition of the spread of Covid-19 has reached almost the entire world with the number of cases continuing to increase. Health workers act as service providers, therefore hospitals have an obligation to nourish their workforce. There are ways to overcome and reduce the possibility of work accidents and occupational diseases (PAK). One of them is by increasing the frequency of using personal protective equipment (PPE). PPE only functions to reduce contact with hazards by placing a barrier between workers and the dangers that exist in patients and vice versa. Purpose: To analyze the influence of the variables Availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Education on nurse job satisfaction. Method: Descriptive in nature, namely a research design that is directed to describe symptoms, facts, or events in a systematic and accurate manner, regarding the characteristics of a particular population or area of ​​25 people with a total sampling technique. Collecting data in this study used a type of questionnaire instrument that contained the characteristics of the respondents and the behavior of using personal protective equipment (PPE). Results: The results of this study show an overview of the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by nurses in the APARMA Unipdu Covid-19 Special Room in the use of head coverings, surgical or N95 masks, face shields, surgical gowns and isolation gowns, aprons, gloves and shields shoe. Conclusion: in general, nurses at the Aparma Healthy Home use personal protective equipment in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Health.

Abstract

Children's health is the nation's future asset. The period of child growth has started from the first year of life, especially the period since the fetus is in the womb. Good and sufficient nutrition, good health status, proper parenting, and proper stimulation during this period will help children grow healthy and be able to achieve their optimal abilities. Appropriate stimulation will stimulate the toddler's brain so that the development of movement, speech and language abilities, socialization and independence in toddlers takes place optimally according to the child's age. Structured growth and development screening is an effort to detect early deviations in growth and development in children, so that appropriate treatment can be carried out immediately. Family knowledge, especially mothers in supporting good parenting efforts for children, especially toddlers, greatly supports the success of growth and development in children.Community service activities include; growth and development screening and parenting on growth and development in preschool-aged children. This activity involved 32 children in PAUD and TK Al Islamiyah, and 32 parents (mothers or caregivers) to participate in parenting activities. Growth and development screening uses the KPSP assessment format (Kemenkes RI). Meanwhile, for parenting, the SAP of Health Education and questionnaires were used to assess knowledge before and after receiving parenting. The results of health screening showed that 44% of children had growth and development status in the inappropriate/deviant category, and 34% had poor nutritional status. Mother's knowledge about the growth and development of preschool children increased significantly after getting parenting.Factors causing growth and development status in the inappropriate/deviant category are; nutritional status of children, parental knowledge and lack of parental stimulation of child development tasks. Early detection is expected to be able to become an evaluation so that stimulation of growth and development can be carried out optimally.

Abstract

Kasus tuberkulosis paru merupakan penyakit menular yang disebabkan mycobacterium tuberculosis dan menjadi permasalahan yang serius di Indonesia. Penderita tuberkulosis paru menyebarkan kuman ke udara dalam bentuk droplet (percikan dahak). Droplet yang mengandung kuman dapat bertahan di udara pada suhu kamar selama beberapa jam. Infeksi terjadi apabila seseorang menghirup udara yang mengandung percikan dahak infeksius tersebut. Puskesmas Cukir Jombang merupakan wilayah puskesmas yang angka kejadian TB paru terbanyak di kabupaten Jombang dan suatu tempat yang padat penduduk terdapat perumahan warga yang berdempetan dan kurangnya ventilasi sehingga resiko penyebaran bakteri tuberkulosis yang tinggi. Sehingga pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menambah pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pentingnya pencegahan penyebaran tuberkulosis paru dengan batuk efektik, merubah perilaku hidup sehat dan bersih agar terhindar dari penyakit Tuberkulosis. Metode dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini berupa penyuluhan dan demostrasi dengan media leaflet dan video. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan selama 1 bulan (Januari 2022). Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini didapatkan peningkatan pengetahuan warga sebelum dilakukan kegiatan hasil pre test responden berpengetahuan baik sebanyak 10 responden (21,7%) dan setelah diberikan penyuluhan dan demonstrasi responden berpengetahuan baik menjadi 31 responden (67,4%). Dengan adanya program pengabdian masyarakat ini, masyarakat dapat menerapkan batuk efektif dan etika batuk dalam mencegah penyebaran Tuberkulosis paru secara mandiri dan mempertahankannya untuk hidup lebih bersih dan sehat agar terhindar dari penyakit menular lainnya.

Abstract

Keselamatan pasien merupakan inti dari mutu pelayanan kesehatan di rumah sakit. Rumah sakit bertanggung jawab untuk meningkatkan mutu pelayanan kesehatan dalam mengelola keselamatan pasien. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis manajemen keselamatan pasien terhadap mutu pelayanan rumah sakit. Studi ini menggunakan tinjauan literatur dengan pencarian elektronik untuk artikel di PubMed, Science Direct, Google Schoolar dan Pro Quest dengan bibliografi manual termasuk artikel dan jurnal kunci. Kami memasukkan studi dari Amerika, Eropa, Asia dan Afrika yang berfokus pada manajemen keselamatan pasien. Kami secara independen memverifikasi studi memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan menilai kualitas studi secara kritis. Peneliti mengidentifikasi 23 penelitian memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Kajian tersebut mengidentifikasi pengelolaan keselamatan pasien yang berkualitas di rumah sakit, beberapa langkah adalah tata kelola dan pengaturan keselamatan pasien, pendidikan dan pelatihan, keterlibatan pasien, pengukuran dan pemantauan keselamatan pasien, penggunaan teknologi informasi dalam mendukung layanan yang mengutamakan keselamatan pasien yang berkualitas. Faktor yang mempengaruhi manajemen keselamatan pasien adalah sistem organisasi, pendidikan dan pelatihan, melibatkan pasien dan teknologi informasi.

Abstract

Many factors influence the acquisition of a language. One of the factors influences gender differences. The language used by men and women is sometimes different in terms of time used, words produced, and standard language used. Based on findings from related areas, this research aims to give a comprehensive account of gender differences in second language acquisition in the Access class organized by IIEF (Indonesian International Education Foundation) collaborated with RELO (Regional English Language Officer) under the supervision of the US Embassy. There are differences in talking time used by women and men. women also uttered more words rather than men. But there is not a big difference between women and men in using the standard form of language. The data that was obtained from four men and four women participants showed that women spent more time to respond the questions. Women tend to comment on the statements in detail. The number of words uttered by women and men is different. Men produced the words on average 80 words in unlimited time which was prepared by the researcher. Women uttered more words than men. The average number of words uttered by women is 174 words. Women and men have no differences in using standard forms of the language.

Abstract

This research is designed as research on improving students' speaking ability for students of the undergraduate nursing program. This research used Role-play as a technique in teaching speaking in English course. The method of this research is called"  A  Classroom  Action  Research".  The subject of this research was the undergraduate nursing program in the academic year  2021-2022  semester 5 consisting of  24  students.  The data of this research were collected by using a measurement technique that was a performance test to measure students' achievements. The findings of this classroom action research showed that speaking ability in class increases by using the Roleplay technique. Based on data analysis, the mean score of the students on the first cycle is 6.770, which qualified poor to average, and the mean score of the students on the second cycle is  7.406, which is qualified average to good. It means that the action hypothesis of the using Role play technique to improve students' speaking ability in class is proven.

Abstract

A literary work comes with its own uniqueness. It has given big contribution to the literature development since centuries years ago. From some literary works, we have the portrait of the society or the condition arose in the past time. Surprisingly in some literary works sometimes we can find there is such a good relationship between one literary work and other literary work. It can be in the form of the issues brought by the writer or the setting of the story although (sometimes) between the writers do not know each other. A good relationship, in this case the similarities emerged in one literary work and another literary work as so called intertextuality. Intertextuality bridges the literary works. This short research tries to find out the intertextuality based on dialogism theory emerged by Mikhail Bahtim in three literary works. They are the work of Emily Dickinson entitled Because I Could Not Stop for Death, a work as retold by William Sommerset Maughm entitled Appointment in Samarra and one literary work by John Donne with the title Death, be not proud.. It has been found that the term death could be portrayed in many different ways. In a work by Emily Dickinson, the death was figured out as a male. In Appointment in Samarra, the detah came as a female while in Death, Be not proud, the death showed unclearly in term og gender whether it is male or female. In term of the power issue. The three literary works also depicted in various ways. The death figure was shown as the less power toward the main character in appointment in Samarra. The power issue in Death, Be not proud, the death was figured out as a character who had more power while in Because I could not stop for death, the death character shown in more powerful comparing to the speaker.

Abstract

Proficiency in English is vital for participation in the global knowledge economy, providing access to information, education, and technological advancements. Recognizing this, SMP Darul Ulum 1 Peterongan Jombang collaborated with Unipdu Jombang to organize an English training program for its teachers and staff. This program aimed to enhance participants' English competency to deliver effective instruction and foster a conducive learning environment. The month-long program employed interactive methodologies covering grammar, vocabulary, phonetics, teaching methodology, and technology integration. Results show significant improvement in participants' English skills, with implications for teaching effectiveness and student outcomes. The success of this program elevates the school's reputation and competitiveness in providing quality education. Ongoing professional development and a supportive English environment are recommended for sustained improvement.

Abstract

TOEFL ITP (Test of English as a Foreign Language; Institutional Testing Program) merupakan syarat wajib bagi seluruh lulusan Unipdu Jombang. Salah satu sesi yang sering menjadi tantangan bagi peserta adalah sesi listening. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa pelatihan Bahasa Inggris dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan listening lulusan Unipdu pada tes TOEFL ITP. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membekali peserta dengan strategi dan teknik menjawab soal listening TOEFL ITP serta meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman bahasa Inggris melalui teknik pengeboran. TOEFL ITP (Test of English as a Foreign Language Institutional Testing Program) merupakan syarat wajib bagi seluruh calon lulusan Unipdu Jombang. Tes ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kemahiran berbahasa Inggris calon lulusan dalam berbagai aspek, antara lain mendengarkan, struktur dan ekspresi tertulis, serta membaca. Meskipun tes TOEFL ITP secara keseluruhan penting, bagian mendengarkan sering kali menjadi tantangan bagi banyak peserta. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berupa pelatihan bahasa Inggris ini bertujuan untuk membantu calon lulusan Unipdu mengatasi tantangan yang dihadapi pada bagian listening TOEFL ITP. Terlihat dari nilai pemahaman listening pada pre-test, dari 25 calon wisudawan yang mengikuti pelatihan terdapat hasil yang berbeda secara signifikan. Terdapat peningkatan skor yang signifikan di seluruh bagian mendengarkan, termasuk percakapan singkat, percakapan panjang, dan pembicaraan/ceramah.
