Abstract

Sungai Masang Kecil is located in the middle of the PT Andalas Agro Industri (PT AAI) palm oil plantation and mill. This activity will have an impact on aquatic biota, especially benthos. Benthos occupies an important position in the food chain and lives permanently on the substrate to be used as a bioindicator of pollution. This study aimed to determine the Community Structure of Macrozoobenthos and the indicator species of water pollution in the Masang Kecil River around the PT AAI area, West Pasaman Regency. This research was conducted using a purposive sampling method with three sampling points, namely upstream and two downstream points after the Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL) and after the confluence of tributaries. Sampling using Surber net size 30 x 30 cm. The results of identifying the types of Bento's organisms as a whole identified as many as 45 species. Most species are found in Class Insecta. Based on the diversity index, the water quality in PT AAI's river basin was classified as unpolluted, and it could be concluded that the benthic condition was in good condition on a scale of 4. In the current study, the Diptera order as an indicator of polluted water was most commonly found among orders from other insect classes, namely, ten species. However, there were nine species from the Order Ephemeroptera as an indicator of clean waters and six species for Trichoptera.

Abstract

The efforts to reduce production costs to minimize feed costs, so that farmers can benefit from livestock business. One way to meet the availability of feed ingredients quality and quantity as feed animal. The materials and tools used in this study were gambir extraction waste, local microorganism, rice washing water, fine bran, rumen microbes, Mc Dougall buffer solution, fermentation rack, salt, brown sugar, plastic and a set of tools for in-vitro testing. The study was conducted experimentally with a 3x4 factorial Randomized Block Design pattern with two replications for each treatment combination. Based on statistical analysis, it was shown that the use of bran and fermentation time had an insignificant (P>0.05) effect on Crude Protein (CP) degradation in the rumen in vitro and a very significant (P<0.01) effect on NH3 production, Crude Fiber (CF) Degradation and volatile fatty acid Production. The results of study was that leg fermented with local microorganisms showed no significant difference in CP degradation, while NH3 production. CF degradation and volatile fatty acid production increased from leg fermented with local microorganisms without the addition of bran, so it could be used as feed ruminant.

Abstract

The waste of peel coffee was potential to be used as feed animal because it is rich in nutritional quality for livestock needs. The Purpose of this study consist of: 1) Developing biotechnology and innovation of feed made from coffee peel waste as an alternative feed to support agro-industry, 2) Utilization of appropriate local raw material innovations as quality feed animal to increasing the nutritional value, growth and production of livestock; 3) Reduce the cost of forage substitution feed production using coffee rind as feed animal.Observation and collection of quality coffee peel waste, 2) Preparation and manufacture of fermenters, 3) Processing and manufacturing of fermented coffee peel waste feed additives, 4) Analysis of the nutritional quality of coffee peel waste using several fermenters. The results of the study using mixed coffee peel + local microrganism of the tempeh yeast is very significant and has a high nutrient content, much higher than other fermenters when viewed from dry matter 88.1%, crude protein 27.20%, crude fat 16.90%, Total Digestible Nutrient (TDN) 72.50%, and Crude Fiber decreased by 15.60%. The results of the study using coffee peel waste were alternative to the feed animal to support agro-industry it can be concluded fermenters using mixed coffee peel + local microorganism tempeh yeast have a high content when viewed from dry matter 88.1%, Crude Protein 27.20 %, Crude Fat 16.90%, TDN 72.50%, and Crude Fiber decreased by 15.60%.

Abstract

AbstractSungai Pisang Bay is located south of Padang City, at this location there are various activities including Pasumpahan Island water tourism, fishing, and settlement activities. This is expected to pollute the sea and have an impact on marine biota, especially phytoplankton. The purpose of this study was to examine the quality of seawater based on the composition and structure of the phytoplankton community in the Sungai Pisang Bay, Padang City. The research was conducted using survey methods and field sampling using plankton net at three sample stations on Pasumpahan Island, Ujung and Setan Island. The result is conducted 100 species of phytoplankton were found consisting of 4 classes, namely Bacillariphyceae 66 species, Chlorophycaeae 1 species, Cyanophyceae 3 species and Dinophyceae 30 species. The phytoplankton diversity index in April ranged from 2.056-3.165 and in Mei 2.644-2.977. The phytoplankton equitability index in April ranged from 0.565-0.836 and in Mei 0.727-0.809. The phytoplankton dominance index in April ranged from 0.054-0.087 and in Mei 0.096-0.131. Physical Chemistry in good condition base on KEPMEN LH No 51/2004. It can be concluded that the condition of Sungai Pisang Bay waters is based on the presence of phytoplankton in dry conditions is good.

Abstract

Before the mangrove forest in Apar Village was used as a tourist destination today, the community considered mangrove forests as wilderness plants that had no clear function and benefits that were never maintained. Many mangroves died due to drought and logger by the community for firewood to be far from sustainable. To manage and preserve the mangrove ecosystem, several efforts have been made, one of which is by quantifying the environmental services provided by the mangrove ecosystem. One of the environmental services of the mangrove forest ecosystem is the benefits of ecotourism. The results showed that the economic value of ecotourism in the mangrove forest covering an area of 10.62 hectares in Apar Village was Rp. 3,614,335.60 per year or Rp. 340,332.92 per Ha per year.

Abstract

The existence of the Electric Steam Power Plant (ESPP) in Teluk Sirih located on the seafront will certainly have an impact on changes in environmental factors such as physical, chemical and biological factors, because the water needed for the ESPP operational process comes from sea water. Changes in the physicochemical factors of sea surface water due to ESPP activity will affect organisms in these waters, one of which is phytoplankton. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to look at changes or trends in the phytoplankton community and its relation to pollution by the physics and chemistry of the waters around the ESPP Teluk Sirih. This research was conducted from June 2019 to June 2021, sampling was carried out annually for three years. This study used a purposive sampling method and plankton sampling using a plankton net horizontally, then the samples were taken to the laboratory for identification. Sampling of water physics and chemistry was carried out in situ and ex-situ, namely by being preserved for further transport to the laboratory. The results of this study indicate the trend of phytoplankton fluctuating from the number of abundance, taxa and diversity index. This is because the physicochemical factor also fluctuates, there is one parameter above the quality standard, namely phenol whose levels are more than 0.02 mg/l. However, it can be concluded that the condition of the waters in the ESPP Teluk Sirih is still in quite good condition.
