Abstract

Abstrak: Kabupaten Lumajang memiliki lahan pertanian dan perkebunan dengan komoditi utamanya adalah tanaman padi, jagung dan kopi. Banyak sekali limbah yang belum termanfaatkan, berawal dari program KKN, potensi daerah di Desa Kalibendo, Kecamatan Pasirian, Kabupaten Lumajang sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan salah satunya “Bioteknologi fermentasi jerami padi tinggi nutrisi, guna meningkatkan kemandirian dan kesejahteraan peternak di Desa Kalibendo, Kecamatan Pasiria, Kabupaten Lumajang”. Pendampingan dari instansi terkait edukasi dalam bioteknologi pengolahan pakan berkualitas secara mandiri dari bahan baku lokal yang ada dari limbah pertanian setempat dapat memenuhi ketersediaan pakan ternak baik dari segi kualitas maupun kuantitas. Pemanfaatan Limbah jerami padi menggunakan bioteknologi fermentasi untuk pakan ternak ruminansia (sapi, kambing/domba) perlu terus dikembangkan, karena dengan fermentasi dapat meningkatkan kualitas nutrisi pakan ternak, dan memanfatkan limbah hasil pertanian menjadi berdaya guna sehingga tidak terbuang begitu saja, dan bisa digunakan dalam jangka waktu yang lama untuk ketersediaan pakan ternak pada saat musim kemarau atau disaat hijauan sudah mulai berkurang. Target dari Program Pengabdian Desa Binaan yaitu bersama dengan pemerintah Desa Kalibendo melakukan pemberdayaan petani-peternak dalam pengolahan pakan ternak fermentasi, sehingga dapat mewujudkan kemandirian dan kesejahteraan peternak.Abstract: Lumajang Regency has extensive agricultural and plantation land, especially rice, corn, and coffee crops, a lot of waste that has not been utilized. Starting from the KKN program, regional potential in Kalibendo Village, Pasirian District, Lumajang Regency is very potential to be developed, one of which is Biotechnology for fermented rice straw with high nutrition, to increase the independence and welfare of breeders in Kalibendo village, Pasiria district, Lumajang Regency. Assistance from educational institutions related to quality feed processing biotechnology independently from existing local raw materials from local agricultural waste can meet animal feed availability in terms of quality and quantity. Utilization of rice straw waste uses biotechnology for ruminant animal feed (cows, goats/sheep), it needs to be continuously developed because fermentation can improve the nutritional quality of animal feed, and utilize agricultural waste to be efficient so that it is not wasted, and can be used in a long period for the availability of fodder during the dry season when the forage has diminished. The Assisted Village Service Program's target is to collaborate with the Kalibendo Village government to empower farmers in the processing of fermented feed so that they can realize the independence and welfare of the breeders.

Abstract

Abstrak: Ketersediaan pakan yang berkualitas dan berkesinambungan merupakan salah satu faktor penentu suksesnya usaha peternakan. Untuk meningkatkat produksi hijauan pakan ternak, maka  manajemen diperlukan manajemen budidaya hijauan pakan ternak, dan lahan pertanian yang digunakan. Tujuan dari kegiatan Program Pengabdian Desa Binaan (PPDB) adalah memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada petani/peternak, serta  edukasi mengenai manajemen pengolahan pakan yang berkualitas dari segi nutrisi maupun jumlahnya dapat memenuhi kebutuhan hodup pokok, dan produksi ternak serta bisa digunakan untuk jangka waktu yang lama. Kegiatan PPDB dilakukan di Desa Kalibendo adalah mitra dalam program pengabdian masyarakat yang berlokasi di desa binaan Universitas Jember. Permasalahan yang ditemukan di Desa Kalibendo  adalah kesulitan pakan untuk ternak selama masa kemarau serta tidak adanya tanaman hijauan pakan selain rumput yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak. Program pengabdian yang dapat dilakukan dengan memberikan penyuluhan dan pelatihan kepada petani peternak agar dapat melakukan membudidayakan hijauan pakan ternak. Eksplorasi sumber bahan pakan alternatif yang relatif murah, mudah didapat dan memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang baik seperti rumput odot. Teknologi pada pakan ternak juga dapat diterapkan sebagai contoh yaitu pembuatan silase hijauan pakan.Abstract: The availability of quality and sustainable feed is one of the determining factors for the success of a livestock business. The productivity of forage is influenced by the management of the forage cultivation and agricultural land used. The purpose of the Assisted Village Service Program (PPDB) is to provide training and assistance to farmers / breeders, as well as education on quality feed processing management in terms of nutrition and quantity that can meet basic living needs, and livestock production and can be used for a long time. PPDB activities were carried out in Kalibendo Village, Pasiria District, Lumajang Regency. Partners in this community service program are the community of livestock farmer groups in the villages of Jember University. The problems found in Kalibendo Village are the difficulty of feeding for livestock during the dry period and the absence of forage plants other than grass that can be used as animal feed. Efforts that can be done are to provide counseling to breeders to cultivate forage plants in addition to agricultural land. Exploration of alternative feed ingredients that are relatively cheap, easy to obtain and have good nutritional content, such as odot grass. Technology in animal feed can also be applied, for example, the manufacture of forage silage.

Abstract

Abstrak: Program Pengabdian Kemitraan ini bermitra dengan Kelompok Tani Ternak Subur Berkah yang berada di Desa Sulek, Kecamatan Telogosari, Kabupaten Bondowoso. Beberapa permasalahan mitra yang dirumuskan berdasarkan hasil forum group discusion (FGD) yang dilakukan pada tanggal 1 Maret 2021 adalah: ketersediaan hijauan pakan ternak (rumput unggul dan leguminosa) masih sangat sedikit, kelangkaan pakan di musim kemarau mengakibatkan produktivitas ternak menurun, pemeliharaan ternak masih dilakukan secara tradisional dan belum memenuhi standar oprasional pemeliharaan ternak yang baik, kontruksi dan letak kandang belum mendukung produktivitas dan kesehatan ternak, limbah ternak belum dimanfaatkan dan mempunyai potensi mencemari lingkungan air, tanah, dan udara serta rendahnya pengetahuan peternak tentang panen dan pasca panen hasil ternak. Solusi dan pemecahan masalah yang akan dilakukan mulai dari: Menyelenggarakan sosialisai program, pelatihan dan praktek penanaman hijauan pakan ternak unggul, pelatihandan praktek teknologi pengolahan pakan fermentasi,pelatihan dan praktek manajeman budidaya ternak, pelatiahan manajeman pengolahan limbah, pembuatan kandang kelompok, dan pelatihan penguatan kelembagaan dan akses pasar. Target dari kegiatan ini yaitu pemberdayaan petani peternak untuk mampu mengidentifikasi bahan pakan lokal, menanam hijauan pakan ternak unggul, menerapkan teknologi pengolahan pakan fermentasi, manajemen budidaya yang tepat, dan pengelolaan ternak dilakukan dikandang kelompok. Luaran dari program ini yaitu dapat mengaplikasikan beberapa aspek dibidang pengabdian masyarakat khususnya terkait peternakan, antara lain sebagai berikut: (a) adopsi teknologi pakan fermentasi, (b) kemandirian pakan, (c) pemeliharaan ternak di kandang kelompok.Abstract: The Partnership Service Program partners with the Berkah Subur Livestock Farmer Group located in Sulek Village, Telogosari District, Bondowoso Regency. Several partner problems were formulated based on the results of the forum group discussion (FGD) conducted on March 1, 2021, namely: the availability of forage fodder (high-yielding grass and legumes) is still very small, feed scarcity in the dry season results in decreased livestock productivity, livestock rearing is still carried out traditionally and have not met the operational standards of good livestock maintenance, construction and location of the cages have not supported the productivity and health of livestock, livestock waste has not been utilized and has the potential to pollute the water, soil and air environment as well as the low knowledge of farmers about harvesting and post-harvesting livestock products. Solutions and problem solving that will be carried out starting from: Organizing program socialization, training and practice of planting superior forage forage, training and practice of fermented feed processing technology, training and practice of livestock cultivation management, training on waste management management, making group cages, and strengthening training institutions and market access. The target of this activity is to empower farmers to be able to identify local feed ingredients, plant superior forage forage, apply fermented feed processing technology, proper cultivation management, and livestock management is carried out in group cages. The output of this program is that it can apply several aspects in the field of community service, especially related to animal husbandry, including the following: (a) adoption of fermented feed technology, (b) feed independence, (c) livestock rearing in group cages.

Abstract

The efforts to reduce production costs to minimize feed costs, so that farmers can benefit from livestock business. One way to meet the availability of feed ingredients quality and quantity as feed animal. The materials and tools used in this study were gambir extraction waste, local microorganism, rice washing water, fine bran, rumen microbes, Mc Dougall buffer solution, fermentation rack, salt, brown sugar, plastic and a set of tools for in-vitro testing. The study was conducted experimentally with a 3x4 factorial Randomized Block Design pattern with two replications for each treatment combination. Based on statistical analysis, it was shown that the use of bran and fermentation time had an insignificant (P>0.05) effect on Crude Protein (CP) degradation in the rumen in vitro and a very significant (P<0.01) effect on NH3 production, Crude Fiber (CF) Degradation and volatile fatty acid Production. The results of study was that leg fermented with local microorganisms showed no significant difference in CP degradation, while NH3 production. CF degradation and volatile fatty acid production increased from leg fermented with local microorganisms without the addition of bran, so it could be used as feed ruminant.

Abstract

The waste of peel coffee was potential to be used as feed animal because it is rich in nutritional quality for livestock needs. The Purpose of this study consist of: 1) Developing biotechnology and innovation of feed made from coffee peel waste as an alternative feed to support agro-industry, 2) Utilization of appropriate local raw material innovations as quality feed animal to increasing the nutritional value, growth and production of livestock; 3) Reduce the cost of forage substitution feed production using coffee rind as feed animal.Observation and collection of quality coffee peel waste, 2) Preparation and manufacture of fermenters, 3) Processing and manufacturing of fermented coffee peel waste feed additives, 4) Analysis of the nutritional quality of coffee peel waste using several fermenters. The results of the study using mixed coffee peel + local microrganism of the tempeh yeast is very significant and has a high nutrient content, much higher than other fermenters when viewed from dry matter 88.1%, crude protein 27.20%, crude fat 16.90%, Total Digestible Nutrient (TDN) 72.50%, and Crude Fiber decreased by 15.60%. The results of the study using coffee peel waste were alternative to the feed animal to support agro-industry it can be concluded fermenters using mixed coffee peel + local microorganism tempeh yeast have a high content when viewed from dry matter 88.1%, Crude Protein 27.20 %, Crude Fat 16.90%, TDN 72.50%, and Crude Fiber decreased by 15.60%.
