Abstract

This study aimed to determine the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills in relation and function materials through the Reciprocal Teaching learning model in class VIII of SMPS National Development Pangkalan Susu. The researchers used classroom action research (CAR) which is carried out in 2 cycles, each cycle was carried out in 2 meetings. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII of SMPS National Development Pangkalan Susu, totaling 22 people. Data collection techniques used were teacher and student observation sheets, and tests of mathematical communication skills. The test was carried out 3 times, namely a diagnostic test, a test for mathematical communication skills I, and a test for mathematical communication skills II. The results of the research at the time of the diagnostic test showed that the students' mathematical communication skills in explaining/writing the elements were known, the elements were asked and concluded correctly and completely (33.4%), painting pictures, diagrams, graphs, or tables completely and correctly (38%), and express mathematical ideas using symbols or mathematical language in writing as a complete and correct representation of an idea or ideas (32%). After being given action in Cycle I and Cycle II, the students were able to explain/write known elements, ask questions and conclusions correctly and completely, describe pictures, diagrams, graphs, or tables completely and correctly, and state mathematical ideas using symbols or mathematical language in writing as a complete and correct representation of an idea or idea. The results of the mathematical communication ability test given in the classical cycle I obtained that students who completed were 10 students (45.45%) out of 22 students with an average of 58.09, in the second cycle who completed increased to 16 students from 22 students (81 ,81%) with an average of 74.18 and has achieved the classical completeness criteria because 80% of the number of students have mathematical communication skills in the sufficient category, namely 70. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Reciprocal Teaching model can improve students' mathematical communication skills in SMPS National Development of Pangkalan Susu.

Abstract

Terdapat beberapa kemampuan yang seharusnya dimiliki peserta didik untuk menghadapai kemajuan jaman pada saat ini, diantaranya adalah kemampuan komunikasi dan penalaran. Matematika sebagai salah satu mata pelajaran yang telah dipelajari sejak taman kana-kanak sampai perguruan tinggi memainkan peran yang penting untuk mengembangkan kemampuan tersebut. Komunikasi dan penalaran matematika merupakan dua hal yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Diharapkan kedepannya dengan semakin membaiknya pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru sebagai pendidik, kedua kemampuan tersebut dapat meningkat. Hal ini diharapkan agar peserta didik dapat bersaing dengan bangsa lainnya. Kata Kunci: Komunikasi matematika, Penalaran Matematika

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV) pada kelas VIII-3 SMP Negeri 13 Binjai. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa dan objek penelitian ini adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang terdiri atas 2 siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari 2 kali pertemuan. Sebelum memberikan tindakan, terlebih dahulu diberikan tes awal dan setiap akhir siklus diberikan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Dari hasil analisis data tes awal diperoleh banyaknya siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar dari tes awal yaitu 1 dari 30 siswa atau 3,33% dengan rata-rata kelas 40.83. Hasil analisis data pada siklus I setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) menunjukkan banyaknya siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar adalah 20 dari 30 siswa atau 66,6% dengan rata-rata kelas 76,34. Hasil analisis data akhir siklus II dengan pembelajaran yang sama diperoleh banyaknya siswa mencapai ketuntasan belajar yaitu 26 dari 30 siswa atau 86,7% dengan rata-rata kelas 85,19 Ini berarti terjadi peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dari siklus I hingga siklus II. Berdasarkan kriteria ketuntasan klasikal maka pembelajaran ini telah mencapai target ketuntasan klasikal. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine whether the application of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model can improve students' mathematical problem solving skills in the material of a two-variable linear equation system (SPLDV) in class VIII-3 SMP Negeri 13 Binjai. The subjects in this study were 30 students and the object of this research was the students' mathematical problem solving ability on the material of a two-variable linear equation system. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) which consists of 2 cycles, each consisting of 2 meetings. Before giving the action, first a preliminary test is given and at the end of each cycle a problem-solving ability test is given. From the results of the initial test data analysis, it was found that the number of students who achieved learning completeness from the initial test was 1 out of 30 students or 3.33% with a class average of 40.83. The results of data analysis in the first cycle after applying the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model showed that the number of students who achieved complete learning was 20 out of 30 students or 66.6% with a class average of 76.34. The results of data analysis at the end of the second cycle with the same learning obtained the number of students who achieved mastery learning, namely 26 of 30 students or 86.7% with a class average of 85.19 This means that there is an increase in student problem solving abilities from cycle I to cycle II. Based on the criteria of classical completeness, this learning has reached the target of classical completeness. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Think Pair Share cooperative learning model can improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities

Abstract

Adanya Pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan dilakukannya pencegahan dengan melakukan pembelajaran dari rumah. Sehingga mengakibatkan pembelajaran dilakukan secara online atau daring. Sehingga pembelajaran online menjadi pembelajaran utama pada saat Pandemi Covid-19. Pembelajaran online yang menggunakan beberapa aplikasi yaitu WhatssApp, Google Classroom, Google Meeet, Zoom, dan lain sebagainya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana Motivasi belajar dan Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa yang Belajar Menggunakan Google Classroom Pada Masa Pandemi Covid-19 di SMP Negeri 2 Parbuluan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Sampel penelitian yaitu kelas VIII-1 SMP Negeri 2 Parbuluan dengan jumlah 30 orang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu teknik Purposive Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes angket, tes hasil belajar, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes angket dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar Matematika siswa yang belajar menggunakan Google Classroom pada masa pandemic Covid-19 berada pada kategori baik dengan persentase 68,6% dan tiap indikator motivasi belaajr trgolong dalam kategori baik. Sedangkan hasil belajar Matematika berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 71,36%, dan tiap indikatornya juga berada pada kategori sedang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul digital yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dengan menggunakan desain pembelajaran ELPSA dan dilengkapi dengan tutorial membangun kubus dan balok menggunakan Geogebra Classic untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Model penelitian yang digunakan adalah research and development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima langkah: (1) analyze, (2) design, (3) develop, (4) implement, and (5) evaluate. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul digital valid dari segi validitas materi dan validitas media dengan skor masing-masing 3,78 dan 3,28. Modul digital matematika yang dikembangkan juga sudah dinyatakan praktis dalam hal respon siswa dengan persentase 86,65% dan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa secara efektif dengan skor 3,55.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of blended learning strategies on the creativity of the pre-service teachers. By a quantitative approach, the type used in this study is a quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were pre-service teachers in semester VII of the Mathematics Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Medan. The instrument has used a test in the form of essay tests of 5 items concerning creativity. The results of the study indicated that there were significant differences in the creativity of pre-services teachers who apply blended learning and direct learning. Thus, it could be concluded that blended learning gave effects of creativity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the scientific approach assisted by focusky on the learning motivation and mathematical reasoning abilities of junior high school students on quadrilateral material. This research is included in the quasi-experimental category. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam T.A 2021/2022. In this study, two classes were selected as samples, namely class VII-A was selected as the experimental class and class VII-U was selected as the control class through purposive sampling technique, each class consisted of 30 people. The experimental class was given teaching by learning using a scientific approach with help of focusky, while the control class was given teaching by learning using an expository approach. The research instrument used was a learning motivation questionnaire and a test in the form of a description of mathematical reasoning abilities that had been declared valid. The data analysis technique used is the analysis prerequisite test, the average similarity test, the two-group average difference test in pairs and hypothesis testing. Hypothesis testing using independent samples t test and manova test. Based on the result of the hypothesis test of learning motivation, the significance value of 0,008 (0,0080,05) and thitungttabel (2,7642,045) this indicates that there is an effect of the scientific approach assisted by focusky on the learning motivation of junior high school students on quadrilateral material. The result of the hypothesis test of mathematical reasoning ability obtained a significance value of 0,001 (0,0010,05) dan thitungttabel (3,3402,045) this indicates that there is an effect of the scientific approach by focusky on mathematical reasoning ability of junior high school students on quadrilateral material and results of the MANOVA test obtained a significance value of Pillais Trace, Wilks Lambda, Hotelillngs Trace dan Yoys Largets Root of 0,001 (0,0010,05) which means that there is an effect of the scientific approach assisted by focusky on students learning motivation and mathematical reasoning abilities of junior high school students on quadrilateral material.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills through problem-based learning models in class VIII-4 SMP Negeri 17 Medan. This type of research is a classroom action research with the subject of 30 students of class VIII-4 SMP Negeri 17 Medan. Data collection techniques in the form of observation and tests. Based on the results of the diagnostic test, the level of students' mathematical problem solving ability is very low with an average grade of 49.17. After taking action in the first cycle, the level of students' mathematical problem solving ability is moderate with an average value of 69.9. The average value of the teacher's ability 2.75 in the sufficient category. After the implementation of the second cycle of action, the level of students' mathematical problem solving ability was high with an average score of 80.4. The value of the teacher's ability to manage learning  3.15 good category. The value of each problem-solving indicator is the indicator of understanding the problem, the average value of the first cycle 85.83 increasing to 95.41 in the second cycle, indicators planning problem solving the average value of the first cycle 71.11 increased to 88.33 in the second cycle, indicators of solving problems the average value of the first cycle was 64.44 increased to 84.72 in the second cycle, and the indicator re-examined the average value of the first cycle of 57.92 increased to 73.73 in the second cycle. Problem based learning model could improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities in class VIII-4 of SMP Negeri 17 Medan.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa melalui model problem based learning di kelas VIII-4 SMP Negeri 17 Medan. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan subjek 30 siswa kelas VIII-4 SMP Negeri 17 Medan. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi dan tes. Berdasarkan hasil tes diagnostik tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa sangat rendah dengan nilai rata-rata kelas 49,17. Setelah dilakukan tindakan pada siklus I, tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa sedang dengan nilai rata-rata 69,9. Nilai rata-rata kemampuan guru adal 2,75 kategori cukup. Setelah pelaksanaan tindakan siklus II, tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata 80,4. Nilai kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran 3,15 kategori baik. Nilai setiap indikator pemecahan masalah; indikator memahami masalah nilai rata-rata siklus I 85,83 meningkat menjadi 95,41 pada siklus II, indikator merencanakan penyelesaian masalah nilai rata-rata siklus I 71,11 meningkat menjadi 88,33 pada siklus II, indikator menyelesaikan masalah nilai rata-rata siklus I 64,44 meningkat menjadi 84,72 pada siklus II, dan indikator memeriksa kembali rata-rata nilai siklus I 57,92 meningkat menjadi 73,73 pada siklus II. Disimpulkan bahwa model problem based learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa di kelas VIII-4 SMP Negeri 17 Medan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemandirian belajar siswa kelas VIII MTs Swasta Perdamean Rantauprapat pada mata pelajaran matematika melalui pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan 1) angket, yaitu untuk memproleh data kemandirian belajar siswa. Kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif dengan menggunakan cara berfikir induktif 2) lembar observasi keaktifan siswa, untuk memproleh data yang lebih akurat tentang keaktifan siswa 3) Wawancara, untuk memperoleh informasi yang berhubungan dengan kemandirian belajar siswa pada saat daring. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemandirian belajar siswa kelas VIII MTs Swasta Perdamean Rantauprapat dalam pembelajaran matematika secara daring berada pada kategori baik pada empat indikator, yaitu percaya diri, kedisiplinan, tanggung jawab, dan keaktifan siswa pada pembelajaran daring. Persentase siswa yang memiliki kemandirian belajar yang berada pada kategori tinggi memiliki persentase sebesar 15,38%, kemandirian belajar yang berada pada kategori sedang memiliki persentase sebesar 69,24% dan kemandirian belajar yang berada pada kategori rendah memiliki persentase sebesar 15,38%. Adapun persentase untuk data aktifitas siswa pada pertemuan 1 yaitu sebesar 73,33%, dan pada pertemuan 2 memiliki persentase sebesar 83,33% hal ini menunjukan bahwa kemandirian belajar siswa pada pembelajaran daring mata pelajaran matematika dapat dikatakan baik, dan keaktifan siswa pada pembelajaran daring tergolong kurang aktif.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the analysis result of the use of learning media in the Problem Based Learning model. The methods used in this research is literature study of 6 sources consists of 3 thesis and 3 journals discuss the use of learning media in the Problem Based Learning model in Indonesia published in the span of 2016-2022. From the calculation of the effect size, the average value is 0.79 which is categorized in the medium category. This shows that the use of learning media with Problem Based Learning in mathematics learning had a positive effect on improving the mathematical ability of students and the effect obtained is in the medium category. The mathematical ability could be improved based on the literature study such as student’s mathematical connection ability, student’s mathematical problem soving ability dan student’s mathematical numeracy literacy ability. The type of learning media according this research are animation, geogebra, microsoft power point, fun math book, cabri 3D v2 dan youtube. Hope for further research can be analyzed more deeply by using more sources so the result will be more maximal and varied.
