Abstract

Boat Seine net is a very productive fishing gear in Nusantara Fisheries Port (NFP) Palabuhanratu. Boat Seine was a fishing unit that has the third largest contribution to the provision of fish stocks in 2019, which is 9% of the total production volume of NFP Palabuhanratu after lift net (40%) and longline (35%). The purpose of this study was to analyze the composition of the main catch, productivity, fishing season and to analyse the fishing ground in Palabuhanratu Bay. The type of data collected in this study was quantitative data. Primary data from interviews and field observations of fish landing activities at Palabuhanratu in October 2020 were used to compile this study's data, which included the type of fishing gear used, the composition of the types, and the production of the catch. Secondary data collected were monthly catches and trips made by Boat Seine fishing units. By analyzing the data of Boat Seine net fishing from 2015 to 2019, descriptive analysis method was used to investigate the composition of Boat Seine net catch. The results of the research showed that mackerel (Euthynnus affinis), moonfish (Mene maculata), and ponyfish (Leiognathus equulus) are the dominant fishes caught at the Palabuhanratu waters. The productivity level of Boat Seine net was 348 Kg/Trip in 2015, which increased to 603 Kg/Trip in 2019. The mackerel season occurs around May to September and November. Moonfish fishing season occurs in March, September and October. Ponyfish fishing season occurs in January, March, May, October, November, and December. Boat Seine net fishing grounds in the waters of Palabuhanratu Bay are relatively stationary around the waters of Palabuhanratu Bay.Keywords: CPUE, Fishing Area, Fishing Season Index, Productivity

Abstract

Salah satu teknologi yang dapat mendukung peningkatan populasi cumi-cumi di alam adalah teknologi atraktor cumi-cumi. Atraktor cumi-cumi dapat berfungsi sebagai suatu ekosistem baru dan dapat mengumpulkan cumi-cumi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan karakteristik perairan tempat pemasangan atraktor cumi-cumi, menentukan desain kontruksi atraktor cumi-cumi, dan menentukan efektivitas pemasangan atraktor terhadap hasil tangkapan cumi-cumi. Metode penelitian berupa eksperimental fishing dan studi literatur digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan suhu permukaan laut di periaran Labuhan Haji dan Tajung Luar secara berurutan berkisar 27,10-28,29°C dan 28,15-28,79°C, kondisi dasar perairan Labuhan Haji pasir berlumpur dan Tanjung Luar pasir berbatu. Desain atraktor berbentuk tabung dengan diameter 60 cm, panjang 120 cm, dan berwarna hitam. Pemasangan atraktor efektif mengumpulkan cumi-cumi.

Abstract

Based on ship accident report data, during 2016-2020 there were 65 cases of ship accidents reported. The occurrence of a capsized ship is caused by poor ship stability or the main dimensions of the ship that are not in accordance with its designation. This study aims to identify the main dimensions and analyze the stability of the troll liner used by fishermen in Wangi-Wangi. The data collection technique used was accidental sampling. The results showed that the troll liner at Wangi-Wangi had the main dimension ratio values of L/B mostly (90,37%) in accordance with the reference values, the overall B/D ratio values (100%) were in accordance with the range of reference values, and the value of the L/D ratio is only a small portion (21,39%) within the reference range. The troll liner at Wangi-Wangi have a positive stability arm (GZ) value so that they have the ability to return to their original (stable) position after experiencing a tilt. The GZ value of the ship is directly proportional to the size and condition of the ship's cargo, where the greater the size and condition of the ship's cargo, the greater the GZ value of the ship.

Abstract

The rearing activities of lobster post-larvae still depend on seeds from nature, while the post-larvae caught are few and the size is not uniform. Therefore, effective and efficient fishing gear is needed. Regarding the effectiveness of fishing gear, it is influenced by various factors including the depth of operation and the forming material to obtain an effective and efficient trap, it was tested based on the constituent materials, namely cement sacks and shrimp feed sacks. At the depth of operation with a depth of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 m. This study aims to compare the effective trap materials for catching lobster post larvae and identify the appropriate depth of trap placement with the lobster post-larva swimming layer. The results showed that the comparison of the depth of the trap at a depth of 14 m gave the highest catch of 47 fish and the lowest at a depth of 2 and 4 m with a catch of 3 fish, while in the comparison of forming materials the highest catch was in the sack material, which was 191 individuals, while in the feed sack shrimp is 188 individuals. Based on the results of the study showed a depth of 14 m and cement sack material gave the highest catch.
