Abstract

This research describes the use of Videos media for learning vocabulary and has found positive results in improvement students' vocabulary mastery. The purpose of this research is to find out whether there was an improvement in vocabulary mastery at fifth grade of SDN Kutajaya I in Academic Year 2021/2022 after using Videos. The sample used is 30 students. The writer used quantitative methods with pre-experimental design one group pretest and posttest. The writer was conducted a research using pretest, treatments and posttest. The results showed that the use of Videos can improve students' vocabulary learning. The data hypothesis test used the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, and the results were Ha accepted and Ho was rejected. It can be shown that Sig. < (0.05). This means that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test at SDN Kutajaya I. Learning vocabulary by using Videos can make students more interested in the learning activity. In addition, it is not easy to make students feel bored because learning atmosphere is more exciting.

Abstract

Poskamling merupakan salah satu fasilitas yang terdapat dalam lingkungan masyarakat dan bertujuan untuk menjaga keamanan lingkungan sekitar. Bukan hanya sebagai sarana keamanan tetapi ternyata poskamling juga dapat diberdayakan menjadi pos Pendidikan bahkan juga sebagai taman bacaan. Hal tersebut membuktikan bahwa Poskamling memiliki multi fungsi yang juga dapat menguntungkan masyarakat sekitar. Oleh karenanya, penulis berkesempatan melakukan pengabdian masyarakat di Saung Poskamling Rt03/02 Keluarahan Poris Jaya Tangerang untuk mengajarkan Bahasa Inggris kepada anak usia sekolah dasar. Dengan pemanfaatan internet yang tersedia di saung poskamling, anak-anak dapat belajar Bahasa Inggris dengan lebih menyenangkan. Hal tersebut juga sejalan dengan kondisi era new normal, dimana siswa harus bisa memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Pemanfaatan poskamling juga menjadi sarana yang tepat bagi anak-anak untuk bisa belajar bersama untuk mengasah kemampuan kolaborasi. Juga, dengan adanya aset poskamling di lingkungan Poris Jaya membantu mengembangkan potensi masyarakat khususnya anak-anak sekitar.

Abstract

Edpuzzle is a useful website for teachers to find and edit online videos whether it is from YouTube, TED Talks, or Khan Academy, etc., to present it to their students in the classroom. In addition, Edpuzzle flourished to become one of the effective tools in listening assessment because student’s progress is easily tracked by the teacher and assigned videos are graded by Edpuzzle. This is a survey study which proposed to get an empirical data about students’ perceptions of using Edpuzzle in listening assessment. The result of this study showed that students’ perceptions of using Edpuzzle in listening assessment are positive. Using video in Edpuzzle perceived as an up-to-date and interesting way to be used in listening assessment based on 90% of the respondents, and they agreed that the content of the video provided in Edpuzzle as the listening assessment media was authentic since it is related to their daily life conversation. The use of Edpuzzle in listening assessment is perceived and received positively by the students of SMK Diponegoro 1 Jakarta who have ever used Edpuzzle in their listening assessment.

Abstract

The perception of higher education students towards synchronous and asynchronous learning modes plays a vital role in determining the success of these pedagogical approaches. Students' preferences and attitudes towards these modes can impact their engagement, motivation, and overall learning outcomes. Thus, this research aimed to analyze the students’ perception on the modes of English learning activities employed a descriptive quantitative and qualitative approach. Students of all majors became the respondents and filled online questionnaire via Google form. There were 464 respondents filled in the questionnaire. The result showed that students were fully aware of the implementation, characteristics, and consequences of these two learning modes. Furthermore, students can shift and adapt with ease to the modes employed. Then, it can be concluded that students have adapted to the modes of learning and face no difficulty in the employment of synchronous and asynchronous classes.
