<![CDATA[Abstract. This research is motivated by the low understanding of students on the material aqidah morals, this is caused by the application of learning that is still teacher centered and the delivery of material is monotonous. To improve students' understanding, learning needs to be directed at activities that encourage students to be active in the classroom, namely by using the index card match method, where all students are active in learning because they have the same time. Based on this phenomenon, the formulation of the problem in this study are: (1) How is moral aqidah learning using conventional methods? (2) How is the application of moral aqidah learning by using the index card match method? (3) Is there an effect of the index card match method on the understanding of the moral aqidah learning material in class VIII students?. Researchers used a quasi-experimental method with a quantitative approach. Data collection techniques in this study are tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was performed by t-test using paired sample t-test. The results showed that the index card match method had an effect on increasing students' understanding as seen from the results of the t-test. Then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, this shows that there is an effect of the index card match method on increasing student understanding. Abstrak. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman siswa terhadap materi akidah akhlak, hal ini disebabkan oleh penerapan pembelajaran yang masih teacher centered dan penyampaian materi yang monoton. Untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa, maka pembelajaran perlu diarahkan pada aktivitas-aktivitas yang mendorong siswa aktif di dalam kelas, yaitu dengan menggunakan metode index card match, di mana semua siswa aktif dalam pembelajaran karena memiliki waktu yang sama. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut, maka rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini ialah: (1) Bagaimana pembelajaran akidah akhlak dengan menggunakan metode konvensional? (2) Bagaimana penerapan pembelajaran akidah akhlak dengan menggunakan metode index card match? (3) Apakah terdapat pengaruh metode index card match terhadap pemahaman materi pembelajaran akidah akhlak pada siswa kelas VIII?. Peneliti menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu tes, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji t-tes menggunakan paired sampel t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh metode index card match terhadap peningkatan pemahaman siswa terlihat dari hasil uji t-tes. Maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima, hal ini menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh metode index card match terhadap peningkatan pemahaman siswa.]]>
