Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, student learning activities concerning learning interests gradually decreased. As a result, various efforts are needed to increase students' motivation in every learning activity. This study aims to describe the application of educators' roles (didactic, reflective, affective roles) and to discover the inhibiting factors educators face to enhance motivation to learn social science. The approach used in this study was a descriptive qualitative approach. The data sources in this study included primary sources interviewed. Meanwhile, secondary sources were the documents obtained at the research sites. These data were collected by conducting observation, interviews, and documentation. The study results indicate that the educators used learning resources such as textbooks and worksheets. The technique to deliver the materials was summarizing the materials in the form of Word/PDF or explaining the materials through voice notes. The instructional media used by the educators were pictures, WhatsApp, E-learning, and Google Forms. The educators implemented the scientific learning approach in applying for the reflective role. The instructional models adopted by the educators were discovery learning and problem-based learning. In addition, the educators conducted evaluations at the beginning or end of learning to determine the level of success. The educators provided good examples and continuous advice in applying for the affective role. The inhibiting factors faced by the educators include lack of learning interest, difficulty understanding the material and financial constraints, and inadequate school facilities.

Abstract

Besole village is one of the villages in Tulungagung Regency which is near the center of the world's active plate collision and is directly adjacent to the Ocean. The influence of this location makes this village rich in minerals, namely as the number one largest marble producer in Indonesia. But behind that, this village has a big threat from natural disasters. This is evident over the years that this area has been hit by floods and landslides and has a threat of a tsunami. Therefore, an effort to empower the community is needed to form a disaster-resilient village through the implementation of disaster mitigation management education. This program is intended for students and the community due to their vulnerability to being affected by disasters. The purpose of this activity is to 1) determine the planning of disaster mitigation management education implementation programs 2) carry out several activities in disaster-based community empowerment efforts, 3) increase knowledge, skills and attitudes of disaster preparedness, 4) find out the advantages, disadvantages, supporters and obstacles of empowerment programs disaster-based society. This study uses a research-based Participatory Action Research (PAR) method which is divided into stages of planning, action, observation and reflection. The results of this study are 1) the planning stage is held to formulate various actions based on the results of preliminary research, focus group discussion and disaster mitigation guidance, 2) the action stage contains various activities, namely waste management on the coast, implementation of earthquake and tsunami learning simulation models at the elementary and junior high school levels, installation of evacuation route signs in several vital objects, use of biopore infiltration hole technology, counseling on organic and inorganic waste management through waste banks. , making a map of the disaster evacuation route for the coastal area of ​​Besole Village, 3) this activity contributes to the Besole village community in increasing knowledge, skills and attitudes of disaster preparedness, 4) the advantages and supporters of this activity, the most important of which is the support from various parties, both from the government and non-government, while the first factor that becomes a shortage and obstacle is the location factor which is difficult to access.

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' lack of interest in educational media during learning. Students feel bored and less motivated because the media used is only conventional, such as lecturing, relying on textbooks and modules, which result in low student knowledge. Powtoon learning videos, with their modern approach and visual-audio presentation, offer a solution. These videos feature animated cartoons, which address students' complaints about conventional learning methods. This research aims to understand the overview of the learning process, identify student needs, determine the steps for media development, assess the validity of the developed media, and examine the influence of the media on students' knowledge. The researcher employed the Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, tests, interviews, observations, and data analysis. The study was conducted at SMPN 2 Kademangan, with eighth-grade classes D (control group) and E (experimental group) as research subjects. Data analysis was performed using quantitative and qualitative methods. The validation results from media experts, subject matter experts, and social studies teachers regarding the Powtoon media showed that it was suitable for use with minor revisions and had a significant impact on learning outcomes. The Sig value (2-tailed) was found to be 0.003, which is less than the significance level of 0.05. Therefore, H1 is accepted, indicating that there is a difference in learning outcomes between the control group (class D) and the experimental group (class E), with an average post-test score of 82.68% for class D and 93.28% for class E. This shows a difference of 10.6%, indicating that Powtoon media is effective for learning purposes.

Abstract

As an effort to improve the learning process, this study aims to describe the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model with Fun Mind Mapping media on learning outcomes (cognitive, affective, psychomotor). The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach. The type of research used is a type of experimental research. The population in this study were all students of class VIII UPT SMP Negeri 3 Srengat. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The instruments used to measure learning outcomes are test questions and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this study is the data instrument test with the validity test and reliability test, the prerequisite test with the normality test and homogeneity test, and the hypothesis test with the t-test. The results showed that partially there was an influence of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model with Fun Mind Mapping media on students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the results of data analysis with the help of SPSS 22 for windows on cognitive aspects 0.017 <0.05, affective aspects 0.046 <0.05, and psychomotor aspects 0.048 <0.05, which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.

Abstract

Kurangnya pemanfaatan penggunaan media ajar yang digunakan oleh guru dengan efektif dan inovatif, sehingga dalam suatu proses pembelajaran belum tersampaikan secara optimal yang dapat mempengaruhi aspek kognitif siswa. Pemilihan media pembelajaran yang tepat merupakan faktor utama dalam pengoptimalan aspek kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mengetahui (1) Kevalidan dari pengembangan media ajar website materi proses masuk dan penyebaran Islam di Indonesia, (2) Pengaruh media ajar website terhadap aspek kognitif siswa pada mata pelajaran sejarah Indonesia materi proses masuk dan penyebaran Islam di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian R&D (Reasearch and Development) dengan model pendekatan ADDIE. Penelitian ini diambil melalui analisis awal, angket siswa, lembar pengamatan aktivasi siswa, serta nilai posttest. Data yang didapat dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif untuk pengevaluasian media ajar multimedia berbasis website. Hasil validasi ahli media, ahli materi, dan guru sejarah Indonesia terhadap media ajar multimedia berbasis website menunjukkan kategori baik dan layak digunakan. Penggunaan media ajar berbasis website dapat meningkatkan aspek kognitif siswa sehingga siswa menjadi lebih aktif mengikuti pembelajaran khususnya pembelajaran sejarah Indonesia.

Abstract

Kurang bervariasinya bahan ajar yang digunakan akan menjadikan proses pembelajaran tidak maksimal dan rendahnya pengetahuan siswa mengenai materi IPS yang berkaitan dengan sejarah lokal. Maka perlu adanya suatu pembahasan mengenai sejarah lokal di daerah mereka dengan disertai visualisasi lebih pada bahan ajar yang digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk gambaran pembelajaran IPS kelas VII SMP Muallimin Wonodadi Blitar, analisis kebutuhan terhadap pengembangan bahan ajar berbasis ensiklopedia, langkah-langkah pengembangan serta kevalidan bahan ajar berbasis ensiklopedia sejarah lokal peninggalan sejarah dan candi di Blitar. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu pembelajaran IPS di SMP Muallimin Wonodadi Blitar pada kelas VII, guru masih menggunakan metode ceramah dan media pembelajaran berupa bahan ajar sebagai sumber belajar dalam bentuk buku pegangan guru dan buku paket siswa. Angket kebutuhan menyatakan bahwa guru maupun siswa menyatakan membutuhkan dan setuju menggunakan bahan ajar berbasis ensiklopedia sejarah lokal peninggalan sejarah dan candi di Blitar. Langkah-langkah pengembangan bahan ajar berbasis ensiklopedia sejarah lokal peninggalan sejarah dan candi di Blitar menggunakan model penelitian dan pengembangan Borg and Gall yang diadaptasi oleh Sugiyono terdiri dari 8 tahapan yakni potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi produk, revisi produk, uji coba produk, revisi produk, dan uji coba pemakaian. Tingkat kevalidan berbasis ensiklopedia sejarah lokal peninggalan sejarah dan candi di Blitar yakni : ahli media 82,4%, ahli materi 91,2%, dari pengguna hasil respon guru IPS 92%, hasil respon siswa kelompok kecil 86,5% dan kelompok besar 88,3%, bahan ajar dinyatakan layak untuk digunakan.
