Abstract

Synthesis and immobilization of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) to Whatman paper carried out using Cromolaena odorata extract irradiated by sunlight. The UV-Vis shows silver nanoparticles successfully formed from AgNO3 1 mM, 2 mM, and 3 mM with the absorption peaks at 455 nm, 452 nm, and 451 nm, respectively. The SEM shows AgNPs are spherical with an average particle size are 60.45 nm, 63.19 nm, and 68.42 nm, respectively. The EDX spectrum shows the composition of silver immobilized to Whatman paper increase with increasing concentration of 10.14Wt%, 64.48Wt%, and 70.48 Wt%, respectively. AgNPs/Whatman paper has a cubic crystal structure, space group Fm-3m, lattice parameter (a) 4.0862 Ǻ and crystal size of 42.94 nm. FTIR reach peaks at 520.78 cm-1 and 1,059 cm-1 explains the vibration of the Ag-O bonds indicated the formation of AgNPs. Furthermore, the photocatalyst ability for dye degradation was evaluated using methylene blue 10 ppm under sunlight for 6 hours. The result shows a changed colour to fade and decreases the absorbance ability of methylene blue. Therefore, it can be concluded that green synthesis and immobilization of AgNPs/Whatman paper have a potential to be applied as photocatalyst materials for dye degradation.DOI: 10.17977/um024v7i12022p006

Abstract

Indonesia is currently experiencing the problem of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), energy and environmental crisis. Gasification by electric generator is the solution. This study about the design and characterization of the gasification reactor with MSW feed. This research was conducted by examining the effect of gasification temperature (550, 600, 650, 700, 750, 800, 850oC) and Air Fuel Ratio variations (0,5; 0,51; 0,53; 0,54l; and 0,55). The variabel test of temperature variations is syngas concentration, fuel conversion (FC), cold gas efficiency (CGE), carbon conversion efficiency (CCE), and specific fuel consumption (SCF). The AFR evaluated syngas and SCF. The result showed an increase the syngas levels with the increasing the gasification temperature, except CO2. The FC value increased(71% to 74%) and The CGE increases (77 to 97%). The CCE increases from 69% to 78% (550-650oC) and decreases again to 66% (850oC), and SCF decreased (4.5-0.5 kg/kWh). In the AFR variation, syngas levels increase with increasing AFR, but scf decreased (5.3 to 2), this proves efficient combustion.

Abstract

Three hundred and ten million people are affected by global climate change caused by carbon dioxide gas. The internal combustion engine that dominates the transportation fleet is one of the contributors to the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Research related to environmentally friendly vehicles, in this case, electric vehicles, needs to continue to be carried out followed by downstream research results in the industry. The hope is to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced by internal combustion engine vehicles. This study aims to determine the strength of the electric bicycle frame by conducting a stress analysis using the finite element method. The geometry modeling, inputs (data of material properties, geometry, loads, boundary conditions), mesh, solve, and validation are the steps that are passed in this research. The results show that the maximum equivalent stress (von Mises) of 98.31 MPa occurs at the joint between the Seat Tube and Seat Stay, while the minimum stress of 0.01 MPa occurs at the top of the Head Tube. The maximum deformation that occurs at the top of the Seat Tube is 0.15 mm. The minimum safety factor value on the frame is 2.39. Based on this value, the electric bicycle frame can be said to be strong enough to withstand the load of the rider and the battery.

Abstract

Sebagai solusi bagi para pembudidaya dalam memberikan pakan ikan yang efisen dan mudah maka dirancanglah sebuah mesin pemberi pakan ikan otomatis. Penelitian-penelitian yang ada berfokus pada pembuatan dan pengembangan sistem kontrol, informasi dan monitoring sedangkan secara struktur belum pernah dilakukan penelitian terkait kekuatannya dalam menahan beban operasional dan beban akibat berat pakan serta komponen struktur. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan nilai tegangan von Mises, deformasi dan faktor keamanan dari rangka Mesin Pemberi Pakan Ikan Otomatis akibat beban yang terjadi. Metode Elemen Hingga digunakan untuk mendapatkan nilai tersebut. Adapaun tahapan dalam metode ini yaitu, pemodelan geometri, pemilihan material, mesh, penerapan beban dan tumpuan pada object yang dianalisis, dan yang terakhir yaitu solve. Tegangan von Mises terbesar terjadi di horizontal frame 4 dengan nilai 5,04 MPa sedangkan tegangan minimum terjadi di DC Motor support sebesar 0,00013 MPa. Deformasi total maksimum terjadi di linear aktuator support sebesar 0,01 mm sedangkan deformasi minimum terjadi di bagian bawah vertical frame 3 dengan nilai 0 mm. Besar faktor keamanan minimum yang diperoleh adalah 62,5 sehingga Rangka Mesin Pemberi Pakan Ikan Otomatis dapat dikatakan kuat dalam menahan beban yang terjadi.

Abstract

Seaweed is one of the superior commodities of aquaculture in Kertasari Village, Taliwang District, Sumbawa Barat, Nusa Tenggara Barat, with an area of ??1,550 ha in 2013 with a production of 9,850 tons. Post-harvest handling and processing of seaweed is still conducted traditionally, efficiency and the quality of seaweed produced is low. Long enough drying can affect the growth of microorganisms in seaweed, causing the growth of mold and fungus. The explanation of the problem above makes the writer try to find a solution of the problems faced by seaweed farmers in Kertasari Village, with a maker of seaweed dryers based on Solar Dryer. The solar dryer uses a corrugated plate solar collector with a slope angle of 45o and a zinc plate material with a thickness of 0.4 mm with a conductivity value (k) of 116 W / moC. In addition it uses a clear glass cover with a thickness of 3 mm with a slope of 15o. This tool uses a framework in the form of aluminum, with the tilt angle used can produce a Tout of 70.64 oC and Tin of 56.11 oC.

Abstract

This sound absorption test was conducted by finding the value of Sound Transmission Class (STC) using the impedance tube testing method that refers to the ASTM E413 standard. This study aims to determine the effect of the percentage of composite pumice - PET plastic on sound absorption. As for the variation of the volume fraction of pumice: PET plastic that is (40:60, 50:50, 60:40)% based on the volume ratio. In this study it can be seen that the highest value in the sound absorption test is found in composites with a volume fraction of 40:60 with an STC value of 25, while the lowest value is found in composites with a volume fraction of 60:40 with an STC value of 11. Based on the results of this study, composite with a volume fraction of 40:60 is the best percentage in the sound absorption test because the greater the STC of a material, the better it is at absorbing sound.

Abstract

This study aims to design a hand sanitizer and automated portal based on the NodeMCU microcontroller using an infrared sensor. This study uses the development model developed by Borg and Gall. The development procedure includes the exploration and product testing stages. The results of the development obtained a tool in the form of a hand sanitizer and an automated portal based on the NodeMCU microcontroller using an infrared sensor to prevent the spread of virus in West Sumbawa Regency. The trial of using the product was carried out in class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Brang Rea. The trial was carried out twice, namely the initial field trial with 10 test subjects by the teacher and the final field trial with 20 student test subjects. Initial trials obtained assessment data on media/products, namely 62 of the maximum number of assessments of 69 with a percentage of 89.2% which stated that the hand sanitizer product and the NodeMCU microcontroller-based automated portal using infrared sensors were feasible to be used as a tool to prevent the spread of virus in West Sumbawa Regency. The final trial obtained data on student assessment of the product, namely 154 of the maximum number of assessments of 171 with a percentage of 90.1% which was categorized as suitable for use. These results indicate that the design of the Hand Sanitaizer and automatic portal based on the nodemCU microcontroller is feasible to be used as a product/media to prevent the spread of virus in West Sumbawa Regency.

Abstract

Jaringan komputer adalah salah satu sarana pendukung kegiatan sebuah instansi pemerintah maupun swasta. SMAN 3 Praya Lombok Tengah merupakan sekolah menengah atas negeri yang berada dikecamatan Praya. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM) adalah salah kegiatan tri dharma perguruan tinggi dengan tujuan mengimplementasikan ilmu dosen dan memberikan kepada mahasiswa pengalaman belajar dan bekerjasama dalam kegiatan pembangunan masyarakat sebagai sarana penerapan dan pengembangan ilmu dan teknologi pada masyarakat di luar kampus. Dalam PkM yang dilaksanakan dengan pengembangan jaringan komputer Local Area Network (LAN) berbasis mikrotik. Instalasi jaringan dengan melakukan pemasangan kebeberapa titik yang sudah ditetapkan, yakni Ruang Kepala Sekolah, Ruang Guru, Ruang Tata Usaha, Ruang Perpustakaan dan Laboratorium Komputer. Dalam jaringan komputer berbasis mikrotik digunakan sebagai pembagian bandwidth atau manajemen bandwidth menggunakan router mikrotik pada setiap host/user adalah satu bagian yang penting untuk dilakukan bagi penyedia layanan internet. Bandwidth adalah bagian terpenting dari sebuah jaringan, oleh karena itu besar bandwidth atau management bandwidth sangat diperhitungkan demi tercipta nya akses yang cepat dan fleksibel agar memaksimalkan koneksi internet sesuai dengan kebutuhan di setiap bagian perlu adanya manajemen bandwidth untuk membagi besarnya Bandwidth yang dibutuhkan.

Abstract

The availability of energy, including electrical energy, is dwindling and most of the energy used comes from non-renewable energy in decreasing amounts. In addition to the availability of energy, global warming is also a problem for the whole world. Greenhouse gas emissions are the main cause of global warming. Various types of human activities can also increase gas emissions, one of which is the use of electrical energy. The use of AC or air conditioner is an electronic device that requires a lot of electrical energy. To minimize the use of air conditioning, we need bricks that have a low thermal conductivity value but are still light and strong. Utilization of waste is something that is still rarely done. Some types of waste that are rarely used are LDPE plastic waste and fly ash. Both of these wastes have characteristics that are very suitable to be used as alternative raw materials in making bricks. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of density, compressive strength and thermal conductivity as well as the quality produced by brick made from LDPE plastic and fly ash. The research was carried out by melting LDPE plastic and then mixing it with fly ash until smooth to be printed and testing for density, compressive strength and thermal conductivity. From the research results obtained the best data for density 1.265g/cm3, compressive strength 28.6518 MPa and thermal conductivity 1.427 W/mK.

Abstract

Nowadays, with the advancement of technology, it is possible that new problems arise, especially in the global environmental field. Some of these problems include global warming, noise or sound pollution, and water absorption issues. Global warming is a growing concern experienced and felt by people worldwide, characterized by increasing temperatures and unpredictable weather conditions. Reflecting on these issues, there is a need for a solution to address them. The wise solution is the production of natural-based composites. A composite is a material produced from two or more different substances that have distinct properties, resulting in a new and improved material. One natural material that can be used is corn stalks. The composition of corn cob particles used is 35, 18, and 12 mesh. Research results show that Fraction A (35 mesh) has an average thermal conductivity of 0.1976 W/mK, Fraction B (18 mesh) 0.1911 W/mK, and Fraction C (12 mesh) 1893 W/mK. In sound absorption testing, the highest sound absorption coefficient is found in Fraction A (35 mesh) at 0.352 at a frequency of 1400 Hz, while the lowest sound absorption coefficient is found in Fraction C (12 mesh) at 0.100 at a frequency of 800 Hz. In water absorption testing, Fraction A (35 mesh) has an average absorption rate of 8.56%, Fraction B (18 mesh) 10.67%, and Fraction C (12 mesh) an average of 10.97%.
