This articles explores the thought of Abdullahi Ahmed an-Na'im's about the relation of Islam and the state, focusing on the concept of secularism. This theme has become an interesting discourse studied by academics including an-Na'im. However, in addressing the issue of secularism, an-Na'im has different methods and approaches with previous Islamic thinkers both from the traditionalists even from secular circles though. For an-na'im, secularism is an important concept as a mediation space between religion and state.

This article discusses the development of the study of the interpretation of the Qur'an. The pattern of interpretation of the Qur'an in several universities is one of the topics discussed in lectures. The data in this article were collected from library sources which were then reduced and analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method and using a study approach to the interpretation of the Qur'an. This article finds that the study of the pattern of interpretation of the Qur'an conducted by scholars does not show significant developments. The study of interpretive styles tends to be repetitive and boring because scholars do not expand the object of interpretation being studied.

This article reveals Ali Shariati's thoughts on methodological issues in studying Islam. The data used are the works of Ali Shariati and relevant literature obtained from library sources and analyzed by qualitative descriptive methods and philosophical approaches. This article finds that Ali Shariati views it as important and necessary to understand Islam in various ways. According to him, the method of understanding Islam is fundamental for socio-political change and the progress of civilization. However, Ali Shariati only offers two approaches to understanding Islam, namely historical and sociological approaches. Based on these findings, this article recommends and supports the claims of urgency and necessity of comprehensive methods in Islamic studies

Abstract: Secularism is one of the most controversial concepts in Islamic thought. This concept which is rooted in Western history is not only opposed and rejected by some Muslim thinkers, but also critically accepted by some other Muslim thinkers. Muslim thinkers with various scientific backgrounds such as Abdul Karim Sorous, Nasir Hamid Abu Zayd, Nurcholis Madjid tend to accept the concept critically. This paper with descriptive analysis method shows that the elaboration of the concept of secularism by these thinkers not only shows the problematic and controversial concept of secularism, but also proves that the concept is transformed into the Islamic tradition both socio-historical, political, and philosophical. Sekularisme menjadi salah satu konsep yang paling kontroversial dalam pemikiran Islam. Konsep yang berakar dari sejarah Barat ini bukan hanya ditentang dan ditolak oleh sebagian pemikir Muslim, namun juga diterima secara kritis oleh sebagian pemikir Muslim kontemporer. Pembahasan artikel ini dengan metode komparatif dan deskriptif kualitatif serta dengan pendekatan filosofis menemukan bahwa pemikir-pemikir muslim mengkritik sekularisme model Barat, dan merekonstruksi makna sekularisme sesuai dengan konteks sosial, politik, dan kepercayaan masyarakat muslim. Atas dasar temuan ini, artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa konsep sekularisme mengalami transformasi dan pergeseran makna dalam pemikiran Islam. Konsep yang berakar dari sejarah Barat ini bukan hanya ditentang dan ditolak oleh sebagian pemikir Muslim, namun juga diterima secara kritis oleh sebagian pemikir Muslim lainnya. Pemikir-pemikir Muslim dengan berbagai latar belakang keilmuan seperti Abdul Karim Sorous, Nasir Hamid Abu Zayd, Nurcholis Madjid cenderung menerima konsep tersebut secara kritis. Makalah ini dengan metode deskriptif analisis menunjukkan bahwa elaborasi konsep sekularisme oleh pemikir-pemikir tersebut bukan hanya menunjukkan betama problematis dan kontroversialnya konsep sekularisme, namun membuktikan pula bahwa konsep tersebut ditransformasi ke dalam tradisi Islam baik secara sosio-historis, politik, maupun filosofis. This article discusses the method of understanding hadith in the view of contemporary scholars. The focus of this article is to reveal and analyze the theory of the hadith understanding method proposed by Yusuf al-Qardhawy. The analysis of this article uses a qualitative method with an approach to the science of hadith, history, and comparative analysis. The findings of this study show that the theory of the method of understanding Yusuf al-Qaradhawy's hadith is very fundamental in an effort to understand the hadiths of the prophet. The theory is something that is integral and therefore cannot be simply rejected. Comparative analysis with other contemporary scholars such as Muhammad al-Ghazali, Mustafa Yakkub, al-Albani, and Hasbi Ash-Shiddiqi shows the uniqueness and significance of Yusuf al-Qaradhawy's theory which is inherent, fundamental, and comprehensive.

This article discusses the concept of al-muwalah and the style of interpretation of al-Munir by Wahbah az-Zuhayli. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with an interdisciplinary interpretation study approach. The primary source for the discussion of this article is al-Munir's interpretation which was obtained from the library. The finding of this article is that az-Zuhayli's interpretation of the concept of al-muwalah shows a comprehensive style of interpretation with multi-disciplinary approaches. The interpretation of the verses on the concept of al-Muwalah by az-Zuhayli reflects that his interpretation is not only traditional, but also contains dynamic, tolerant, moderate, and humanist principles. The article also concludes that al-Munir's interpretation is included in the category of literary interpretation (al-adabi waal-ijtima'i), not the interpretation of socio-political movements (Adab-ijtima'i-siyasi-haraki).

Artikel ini mendiskusikan ancaman hukuman yang dapat diberlakukan kepada penyebar aliran sesat di Aceh. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif, dimana data diperoleh dari wawancara dengan tokoh masyarakat Aceh dan perpustakaan. Artikel ini menggunakan pendekatan hukum pidana, hukum Islam, dan teologi Islam sebagai alat bantu analisis. Kajian artikel ini menunjukkan aliran yang mengatasnamakan Islam dan melakukan penyebaran paham yang menyimpang dari ajaran Islam murni dapat dipandang sebagai aliran sesat dan melanggar hukum. Ulama tradisional Aceh menghendaki penyebar aliran sesat agar mendapatkan hukuman pidana yang berat, namun harus tetap sesuai dengan peraturan yang berlaku di Indonesia. Atas dasar temuan ini, artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa penyebar aliran sesat di Aceh dapat diancam dengan hukuman pidana yang berlaku Indonesia. This article discusses the penalties that can be imposed on cultists in Aceh. The method used is a qualitative descriptive analysis method, in which data were obtained from interviews with Acehnese community leaders and the library. This article uses the approaches of criminal law, Islamic law, and Islamic theology as analytical tools. The study of this article shows that sects that act in the name of Islam and spread ideas that deviate from pure Islamic teachings can be seen as heretical sects and violate the law. Acehnese traditional clerics want those who spread heretical sects to receive severe criminal penalties, but must still comply with the regulations in force in Indonesia. On the basis of these findings, this article concludes that the spread of deviant sects in Aceh can be subject to Indonesian criminal penalties.

Artikel ini membahas pernyataan Sukmawati Soekarnoputri yang kontroversial. Metode kajian adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan hermeneutika. Kajian ini merupakan studi literatur dengan menggunakan media internet dan berita online sebagai sumber data yang dikumpulkan dengan cara menentukan tujuan penelitian, kriteria pencarian, pencarian literatur, seleksi dan evaluasi literatur, analisis literatur, dan sintesis dan interpretasi. Hasil kajian artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa kontroversi pernyataan Sukmawati melibatkan tiga dimensi yaitu segi politik, psikologis, dan ketiga media atau penyampaian informasi. Simpulan artikel ini menegaskan bahwa setiap individu, termasuk Sukmawati Soekarnoputri, penting mempertimbangkan konteks sosio-historis seperti agama, budaya, sosial, dan politik ketika menyampaikan pikiran, khususnya dalam upaya memahami dan menginterpretasikan teks dan pernyataan. This article discusses the controversial statement of Sukmawati Soekarnoputri. The study method is descriptive qualitative with a hermeneutic approach. This study is a literature study using internet media and online news as a source of data collected by determining research objectives, search criteria, literature search, literature selection and evaluation, literature analysis, and synthesis and interpretation. The results of the study of this article show that the controversy over Sukmawati's statement involves three dimensions, namely political, psychological, and the third media or information delivery. The conclusion of this article emphasizes that it is important for every individual, including Sukmawati Soekarnoputri, to consider the socio-historical context such as religion, culture, social and politics when conveying thoughts, especially in an effort to understand and interpret texts and statements.

Artikel ini membahas modernisasi peran dan fungsi masjid dalam upaya membangun umat Islam berkemajuan. Data artikel ini diperoleh dari sumber kepustakaan yang dianalisis dengan metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Pendekatan analisis menggunakan teologi Islam dan sosiologi agama serta manajemen organisasi. Artikel ini menemukan bahwa banyak model peran, fungsi, dan bentuk pelayanan masjid yang semakin kompleks di era modern. Masjid tidak hanya sekedar tempat ibadah ritual keagamaan, tetapi masjid semakin berkontribusi dalam pembangunan sosial budaya, sosial agama, sosial ekonomi, dan bahkan sosial politik masyarakat Islam. Berdasarkan temuan-temuan ini, artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa peran dan fungsi masjid bukan hanya terlihat terus berubah, namun perannya semakin besar dan modern di era kontemporer.

This article examines the public relations strategy of J&T Express in maintaining customer loyalty. This article uses a qualitative methodology with a descriptive analysis method. The data was obtained by means of field observations and interviews with informants, the findings of this article are that J&T Express seems to be implementing exclusive strategies so that some customers are loyal for a long time. Public Relations J&T Express applies both internal and external strategies. The internal communication strategy includes a push strategy, in which the company's internal parties use a SWOT analysis to identify the industry's position with competitors. The external strategy includes a pull strategy, where J&T takes advantage of the COD feature that can attract consumers to minimize fraud by online shops.
