Abstract

Critical thinking skills are students' cognitive processes in which they systematically and accurately analyze the problems they face, carefully and thoroughly differentiate these problems, and identify and analyze information to develop problem-solving strategies. The purpose of this research is to describe the critical thinking of high school students in Newton's law material. However, the results obtained reflect the thinking skills of Indonesian students from top to bottom. From the results of this study, it was concluded that students' weak high-level reasoning abilities indicated that many students made mistakes when solving routine problems in familiar contexts. Data was collected in the form of a multiple choice test in which there were 5 questions provided. The technique used in analyzing the data is to observe students answering questions. From the tests that have been carried out, the results are obtained in terms of the percentage of students' understanding, namely 15% have a good level of understanding, 65% have a fairly good understanding, and 25% have a bad understanding. The conclusion is the ability to think critically and understand physics concepts which are part of Newton's Laws. Students have not been able to think critically on Newton's law questions, namely on calculation questions. Meanwhile, students can still work on questions regarding the concepts of Newton's law.

Physics Education and Technology (PhET) is an example of a technology that can support school laboratories. Abstract

This research discusses the relationship between temperature optimization and frying time to improve the quality of banana chips. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between temperature optimization and frying time to improve the quality of banana chips, especially the agung banana type in the SAAS chips business and to obtain the best temperature and frying time in the production process. This study used a free variable, namely the temperature to be used, which ranged from 70°C, 80°C and 90°C as well as the time variation, which ranged from 30 minutes, 40 minutes and 50 minutes. So that from these variations the best banana chips can be produced based on direct testing of the panelists. The choice of temperature ranges from 70 ºC to 90 ºC with the aim of avoiding excessive changes in taste and color. During the frying process using cooking oil as much as 12 liters. This research partners with one of the banana chip businesses in Lumajang, namely SAAS Lumajang banana chips, where their business uses a type of agung banana.

Abstract

One of the most frequent disasters in Indonesia is flooding which occurs every year. Flooding is a normal natural process that plays an important role in the formation of the earth's plains. There are two parts to the flood process: natural and non-natural processes and the human factor itself. Rain falls to the earth's surface, is retained by plants before entering the soil and flows to lower elevations for evaporation before reaching the ground surface in natural flooding. Floods also occur when there is heavy rainfall. Whereas human activities such as throwing garbage in its place and causing water to flow irregularly, cause non-natural floods where water evaporates, reaches the land, and floods occur. Floods have a negative impact not only on the quantity and quality of ground and surface water, but also on various damaged community environmental facilities.

Abstract

This observation aims to find out the methods that can be applied to science learning in the hope of advancing students' interest in studying cultural diversity based on science. The background of this observation comes from the cultural diversity and beliefs of the Indonesian people in terms of science. This diversity can be used as a source of physics learning that can be applied to students. One of them is the tradition of offering offerings in which there are principles of the application of physics. This observation was carried out in October-November 2022 at Watu Ulo Beach, Sumberejo Village, Ambulu District, Jember Regency, East Java. The method used in this observation is a qualitative analysis method. Namely, by obtaining data by technically analyzing data subjectively using interviews, observation, documentation and literature studies. Based on the results of observing the offerings, the concept of physics learning was obtained in the concept of pressure and sea waves. So, with this observation, it is hoped that students can understand the basic material of science in learning physics creatively, innovatively, effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how much students understand the concept of radiation produced by mobile phones and how the impact of radiation on health and student learning outcomes when excessive use of mobile phones. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were 10 class XII students from MAN 3 Banyuwangi, SMAN 1 Kencong, SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Jember, and SMAN 1 Tempeh Lumajang for the 2022-2023 academic year. This research was conducted online via google form. The research instrument used was a seven-item questionnaire in the form of multiple choice questions and questions with short answers. These questions must meet the discussion indicators regarding the concept of radiation, the effects of radiation on health, and the effects of radiation on learning outcomes. The results showed that students' understanding of the concept of radiation produced by mobile phones was very good with a percentage of 100%. While the impact of radiation on health that students experience varies from easily tired bodies, disturbed sleep patterns, dizziness, and eye disorders. Meanwhile, the impact of radiation on student learning outcomes when excessive use of mobile phones is loss of concentration and lazy activities so that learning outcomes will decrease. This research will give readers an idea of ​​how much students understand radiation. In addition, this study will provide an overview of what readers should do regarding the radiation generated by mobile phones on students at the high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to increase students' interest in learning models related to basic science based on visual aids. In the field of education, teaching aids are used to stimulate the thoughts, feelings, attention, and interest of students in teaching and learning activities. Elementary school students, of course, really need a learning medium to support the process of learning abstract science that they did not know before. The role of these teaching aids is to help make the abstraction of knowledge more real. Researchers collect data simply by using a variety of data sources, such as primary data—information obtained directly from SD Negeri 3 Jubung students. b. Secondary data, namely data through literature in the form of books, journals, research, and previous opinions that have been proven true. The results of the research indicate that there are differences in the abilities of the students to understand one example of downward vertical motion in the daily lives of 24 students from SD Negeri Jubung 3 in the Jember Regency. The test results show that the average learning outcomes with the help of visual aids show results that are in the high category. The acquisition of student scores increased, as evidenced by the presence of explanatory materials using teaching aids. During the research, the understanding of students and students' involvement in explaining the concepts in teaching aids was very enthusiastic

Abstract

This research was conducted to review how much impact the intensity of sunlight has on the growth of green bean plants by giving different treatments, namely indoors and outdoors. Where the green beans contained in the room (indoor) do not get sunlight while those outside the room (outdoor) get sunlight. Observations showed that the growth of mung bean plants that did not receive sunlight experienced etiolation (growing rapidly but the stems and leaves were pale in color), while the plants that were outdoors grew slower but had sturdy stems and leaves. This situation is caused by the influence of the auxin hormone, where the hormone cannot work optimally when exposed to sunlight. In plants that are in a dark place the leaves are pale because the plants do not get sunlight so they lack chlorophyll.

Abstract

Abstract :  The Application Of The Learning Model To Improve Scientific Attitude And Learning Outcomes Of Students Of Class IV Energy Students Of Roudlotul Qur'an Islamic Elementary School, Mojokerto, The purpose of this classroom action research is to find out the improvement of scientific attitudes and student learning outcomes on the subject of energy after applying the Problem Solving Learning Model. This research uses classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The location of this classroom action research was carried out at the Islamic Elementary School Roudlotul Qur'an Mojokerto, East Java province. The research was carried out in December 2021. The subjects of this research were the fourth grade students of Islamic Elementary School Roudlotul Qur'an Mojokerto, totaling 23 students. The main topic of discussion is about the material "Energy". The data obtained from the implementation of the activities are interviews, observations, documentation, formative tests. From the results of the analysis, it was found that scientific attitudes and student learning outcomes experienced a good increase, namely from the implementation of pre-cycle activities to cycle II. The conclusion of this study is that the Problem Solving learning model can improve scientific attitudes and student learning outcomes and can have a positive effect on Islamic Elementary School students Roudlotul Qur'an Mojokerto, the Problem Solving learning model can be used as an effort to improve learning activities.Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Scientific Attitude, Problem Solving Abstrak : Penerapan Model Pembelajan Problem Solving untuk Meningkatkan Sikap Ilmiah Dan Hasil Belajar Siswa Pokok Bahasan Energi Siswa Kelas IV SD Islam Roudlotul Qur’an Mojokerto. Tujuan dari penelitian tindakan kelas ini yaitu untuk mengetahui peningkatan sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar siswa pokok bahasan energi setelah diterapkan Model Pembelajaran Problem Solving. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua kali siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan,  pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan  refleksi. Lokasi penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan di SD Islam Roudlotul Qur’an Mojokerto, provinsi Jawa Timur. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Desember 2021. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD Islam Roudlotul Qur’an Mojokerto yang berjumlah 23 siswa. Pokok bahasan yang disampaikan yaitu mengenai materi “Energi”. Data yang diperoleh dari pelaksanaan kegiatan yaitu wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, tes formatif. Dari hasil analisis didapatkan sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan yang baik, yaitu dari pelaksanaan kegiatan pra siklus hingga siklus II. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran Problem Solving dapat meningkatkan sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar siswa serta dapat berpengaruh positif terhadap siswa SD Islam Roudlotul Qur’an Mojokerto, model pembelajaran Problem Solving dapat dijadikan upaya perbaikan kegiatan pembelajaran.Kata Kunci: Hasil Belajar, Sikap Ilmiah, Problem Solving
