Abstract

Peningkatan kasus henti jantung di luar rumah sakit (Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest-OHCA) terjadi sejak pandemi Covid-19. Since the Covid-19 pandemic there had been an increase in cases of Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA). Variations of survival rate in OHCA cases due to decreased success rates and resuscitation assistance by bystender. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends increasing the role of the community as bystanders, one of which is addolscents. Young people are physically strong, alert and have a high willingness to learn, but their potential as bystanders is still lacking due to a lack of self afficy. Self efficacy relates to reluctance to help strangers. This purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy anda awareness addolscents as bystanders CPR in cardiac arrest during the Covid-19 pandemic. The type of research is quantitative observational analytic with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were the addolscents of Waru Karangnayar Village with 210 members. Sampling used non-probability sampling technique with 44 respondents. Data analysis used the chi-square test. The results showed that the p-value of the variable awareness with self-efficacy is 0.006 (p <0.05) meaning that there is a relationship between self-efficacy and awareness. Self efficacy is an individual's belief about his ability to perform tasks or actions needed to achieve certain results. Someone who knows himself is certainly aware of his own abilities. The Covid-19 pandemic continues to increase and spread widely, giving rise to challenges faced, namely ensuring victims of cardiac arrest without or confirmed Covid-19 get first aid and a chance to live without endangering the safety of helpers. Situation self-awareness is the awareness a person has of a particular situation and an understanding of what is going on. As a bystander, young people who are aware of their role will have high self-efficacy in contacting the Emergency Medical Service (EMS). When a person is aware of the occurrence of cardiac arrest, self-efficacy in that person will arise.

Abstract

The use of NIV in patients with respiratory failure in the first 3 hours is more effective in improving clinical respiration, pCO2 levels and PaO2/FiO2 ratios compared to the use of mechanical ventilation with intubation. HFNC can provide adequately heated and humidified high FiO2 air and oxygen mixtures at flow rates of 30 – 60 L/min, and is thought to have a number of physiological benefits. This study aims to determine the effect of NIV (Non Invasive Ventilation) and HFNC (High Flow Nasal Cannula) installations on respiratory frequency and oxygen saturation in happy hypoxic patients confirmed with Covid-19. This research method uses the Quasy Experiment design with the Pre Post Test form. This study assessed respiratory rate and oxygen saturation before and after NIV and HFNC installation. The sampling technique used purposive sampling of 172 respondents. The effect of NIV and HFNC installation on respiratory frequency and oxygen saturation in happy hypoxic patients confirmed by Covid-19 was carried out by the Wilcoxon test. The results of the Wilcoxon Test analysis showed that there was an effect of NIV (Non Invasive Ventilation) and HFNC (High Flow Nasal Cannula) installation on Respiratory Frequency (p value 0.000) and oxygen saturation (p value 0.000) in happy hypoxic patients confirmed with Covid-19. The conclusion in this study is that there is an effect of NIV (Non Invasive Ventilation) and HFNC (High Flow Nasal Cannula) installation on respiratory frequency and oxygen saturation in happy hypoxic patients confirmed with Covid-19.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Basic life support (BLS) is an indispensable skill in handling cardiac arrest. However, not everyone has BLS knowledge and skills. BLS skills can be taught to youth through simulations and training. Adolescents have the potential to provide first aid for cardiac arrest but still lack the confidence and skills to do so. This community service is to improve the ability of adolescents to provide first aid for cardiac arrest so that they can have a positive impact in handling emergencies. Community service activities were carried out 2 times. The first meeting was on December 23, 2022, which was attended by 20 teenagers, and the second meeting on December 30, 2022, which was attended by 17 teenagers. Used is pre-experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design with lecture, demonstration, simulation, discussion and question and answer methods. The results of this study provide significant results regarding the effectiveness of BLS training simulations in increasing first aid self-efficacy for cardiac arrest in adolescents. Youth can learn actively and be involved in hands-on practice used simulation method, which provides real experience in basic life support. Keywords: Basic Life Support (BLS), Self-Efficacy, Cardiac Arrest, Adolescent Age
