Abstract

Background. Elderly is a group of population aged 46 years and over based on the age category according to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia 2009. The function of the body's organs of the elderly population will decrease over time, especially kidney function. Several laboratory tests that can be used to assess kidney function are measuring the glomerular filtration rate or measuring levels of non-protein nitrogen such as creatinine and uric acid. Objectives. To determine kidney health in the elderly population in Ketewel Village by measuring blood creatinine and uric acid levels and providing education to keep the kidneys healthy. Implementation method. Elderly residents were given information about free kidney function tests, namely uric acid and blood creatinine, then directed to the Mantra Medika Clinical Laboratory for blood collection to avoid crowds due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Examination of blood creatinine and uric acid with the Erba XL100® device. Results. There were 22 elderly residents of Ketewel Village who did free creatinine and blood uric acid test. A total of 11 elderly men and 11 elderly women who participated in this program. The average age of the elderly who underwent examination was 59.95 ± 9.04 years. The mean systolic blood pressure was 127 ± 15 mmHg. The mean diastolic blood pressure was 76 ± 9.5 mmHg. The mean blood creatinine level was 0.95 ± 0.2 mg/dl. The average blood uric acid level was 5.42 ± 0.92 mg/dl. Conclusion. Free examination Creatinine and blood uric acid levels in the elderly population in Ketewel Village are within normal limits which can indicate kidney function of the elderly population is still within normal limits. Abstract

Blood group is one of the identification parameters of a person's identity. Blood group is important to know in relation to medical and non-medical problems. However, there are still many blood group data that are not known to students in Ketewel village. This activity aims to determine the ABO-Rhesus blood group in children at SDN 3 Ketewel. The activity was carried out after coordinating with the Village Head, the headmaster of SDN 3 and also Mantra Medika Clinical Laboratory in Ketewel. Implementation of activities in August 2021 by complying with health protocols during the pandemic of Covid-19. The results of the activity were obtained as many as 65 students consisting of 35 male and 30 female which was 100% positive Rhesus. The distribution of ABO blood typing in male students was 14% A, 25% B, 62% O and 3% AB. Meanwhile, distribution of ABO blood type in female students is 13% A, 33% B and 47% O. From the activity, it can be concluded that the distribution of ABO-Rhesus blood group in SDN 3 Ketewel students is mostly O, the least blood group is AB which were all students Rhesus positive. Abstract

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2013, the rate of anemia in Indonesia was 46.3%, of which the highest prevalence was in the elderly group. The problem of anemia in the elderly is becoming very serious as the elderly population is increasing, anemia increases morbidity and mortality. Anemia in the elderly is caused by a lack of nutrients such as protein, iron, vitamin B12, folic acid, vitamin C as well as eating habits that inhibit nutrient absorption. Eighty elderly people participated in public service activities including measuring hemoglobin (Hb) levels, followed by providing multivitamins and iron supplements, and educating them on nutrient deficiency prevention. As a result, there were 27 elderly people with anemia (33.7%), 53 people (66.3%) with normal hemoglobin levels, and the rate of anemia in women (37.5%) was higher than in men. 28.1%). These data suggest a very high prevalence of anemia in the elderly, especially in older women. Keywords: anemia, elderly, hemoglobin, iron, multivitamin,

Abstract

Immunomodulators act as immunostimulants and immunosuppressants, so can maintain immunity. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the elderly was at high risk of being infected with SarCoV2, so it necessary to maintain the elderly immunity with socializing the use of natural immunomodulators and providing supplements to the elderly in Ketewel Village. After obtaining permission from the Village Head, the activities will be carried out in August 2021. Starting with the socialization of natural immunomodulators, followed by the distribution of vitamin supplements. The activity was attended by 72 people consisting of 29 men (40.3%) and 43 women (59.7%). All elderly (100%) used natural ingredients but did not know their function for immunity. The high use of natural materials was due to the fact that it integrated into the daily life in the village. However, when asked about the term "natural immunomodulator" only 6 people (6.3%) knew about it, this was due to the level of the elderly knowledge and had never socialized. Furthermore, the elderly was distributed supplements in the form of multivitamins. The activity well done with 72 participants, of which 100% used natural ingredients but only 6.3% knew the term "natural immunomodulators".
