Abstract

Finding and retaining the right talent is an important issue for organizations worldwide. The definition of what is the right talent for the organization should be created first to make sure we recruit the right people and then the next question is what should be done after the right talent has been recruited? Skills Management Systems try to answer these questions by providing skills library and skills inventory for the organizations, thus the gap analysis between the available skills and ‘missing’ skills for the organization can be produced. This analysis accompanied with the prediction of skills demands in the future is a good base to develop a hiring policy and also development plans for the current employees. This paper describes the implementation of Skills Management System in a world-class research and development organization.

Abstract

Companies in the service industry are trying to make changes to meet the needs of the company and the needs of customers. Over the last few years, Total Quality Management has been developed and is one way to provide various changes in improving the quality of relationships with consumers. The purpose of this research is to find out what factors influence the implementation of Total Quality Management in the service industry using a systematic literature review (SLR). Search databases and article sources using the Harzing's Publish or Perish application. Database sources vary from Science Direct, Emerald, Springer, SSRN Papers, Growing Science, Cogentoa, Research Gate and Academia. Meanwhile, the keyword to search the database is Total Quality Management and Service Industry. After the SLR process was carried out to the previous studies that fulfill criteria of the keywords, there were 5 factors that were mentioned the most in almost all studies: top management commitment, continuous improvement, focus on customers, training and education as well as employee management and involvement.

Abstract

Organic food refers to the products produced in conventional way, without hazardous materials. Millennials are the generation most attractive to organic food market. This study aims to analyze whether factors such as environmental knowledge, environmental awareness, health awareness and social awareness affecting purchase intention and sustainable consumption of the millennials towards organic food. A questionnaire used to evaluate the relationships between the six constructs. The findings showed that 340 respondents have met requirements for analysis. The method used was Structural Equation Model (SEM). The research findings find out the main factors that influence purchase intention and sustainable consumption of the millennial generation towards organic food. This research is expected to help non-governmental organizations increase purchase intention and investigate factors that influence the sustainable consumption of organic food in the millennial generation. This research has implications for the organic food industry, especially organic food producers, namely by applying the packaging sustainability method to reduce waste in the environment.

Abstract

Since the establishment of COVID-19 as a pandemic, there have been various changes that must be felt by airport service users related to the implementation of health protocols and the adaptation of new habits. This causes changes that must be felt by airport service users, especially passengers related to their experience while at the airport which can affect passenger satisfaction with the quality of service provided by the airport. This study aims to determine the key drivers of passenger satisfaction during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was conducted on passengers who made domestic departures through Adi Soemarmo Airport during the period March 2020 – December 2021 using the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) questionnaire based on the Airport Council International (ACI) framework. The data was then analyzed using the PLS-SEM method. Environmental variables, airport facilities, and security are variables that become key drivers, so that the management of Adi Soemarmo Airport can focus on these dimensions to be able to increase passenger satisfaction through efforts to improve the indicators that describe these dimensions.

Abstract

Abstract

One of the challenges of managing gas from deep-water wells is ensuring that the flow from the subsea does not form a hydrate, which causes the production to stop due to blockage in the pipeline. Injection Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) is the technology used to prevent hydrates formation. The MEG Recovery Unit (MRU) is a system used to recover rich MEG from wells. However, after operating for four years, the MRU experienced a decrease in performance as indicated by lean MEG products that did not meet the specifications, and MEG losses exceeded the specified limit. This study examines the case by taking an effective approach to solving problems by applying the Lean Six Sigma method that focuses on improving product quality and MRU efficiency using Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) framework. The process starts by defining the problem of the MRU system with involves brainstorming consultation to select the root cause of the problem. Classifying and assessing these reasons has been done through the use of various tools, the fishbone diagram, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and the 5 why analysis. The results show that Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools effectively find the root causes of problems accurately and can provide continuous improvement. The quality of lean MEG products has increased with the cleanliness value below NAS 8 and Total Dissolve Solid below 100 ppm. This reduces operating costs to replace filters with savings of $42,000 per month. Meanwhile, MRU efficiency increased from 96% to 98%, and MEG losses reduced from 1500 liters/day to 750 liters/day equivalent to a savings of $36,000 per month.

Abstract

Since COVID-19 was declared as a pandemic, there have been major changes at the airports which can affect passenger satisfaction on service quality. This study examined key drivers of passenger satisfaction before and during the COVID-19 pandemic based on the airport service quality framework by Airport Council International (ACI) and the moderating effect of passenger purpose of travel on relationship between airport service quality and passenger satisfaction. The population was domestic flight passengers who departed through Adi Soemarmo International Airport on the period of May 2018 – December 2021. The data were analyzed using PLS-SEM Multi Group Analysis. The result showed that airport environment and airport facilities were the key drivers of passenger’s satisfaction for both of group, while security is key driver only for passenger during pandemic and find your way for passenger before pandemic only. This study also show that purpose of travel is moderating the effect on passenger satisfaction of airport environment and facilities on passenger before pandemic and security on passenger during pandemic.
