Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of tutor competence on the English language proficiency of training participants. The researcher applied a quantitative correlational research design and used simple linear regression analysis. The population studied was all English language training participants in the Community Learning Center (CLC) of Banyuwangi Regency, with a total of 10 CLCs that provide English language training. The research was conducted over 5 months, from August to December 2021, with a sample size of 33 participants from 10 CLCs. Proportional random sampling technique was used to obtain the sample. Data was collected through the administration of a questionnaire as the primary method. The questionnaire was distributed to the 10 CLCs identified as the sample. The results showed that the tutor competence in teaching English has a score of 83.4%, indicating excellent competence, while the English language proficiency of the participants has a score of 65.4%, indicating moderate proficiency. The influence of tutor competence has a value of 0.405, which has a "moderately strong" coefficient interpretation, indicating a significant influence between tutor competence and English language proficiency. Additionally, the significance between the variables (X) Tutor Competence and (Y) English Language Proficiency had a sig value of 0.019, which indicates that if the significant value (0.019) < alpha (0.05), then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means there is an influence between tutor competence and the English language proficiency of training participants.

Abstract

Abstract The village economy is very important because it is the initial driver of a country's economy. The importance of economic development is also supported by the increasingly sophisticated technology that is present today. Increasing technology must be utilized as best as possible to facilitate all daily activities, one of which is increasing the business owned. Paspan Village as a village that has the potential to participate in keeping up with the times, especially regarding the use of technology. However, business actors in Paspan Village have not utilized digital technology properly, especially in selling products online. Digital marketing training activities began with providing knowledge about the importance of digital marketing and continued with direct practice of using the Shopee marketplace as a seller. With this training, it is hoped that it can foster the enthusiasm of business actors in increasing sales of their products and can be a new beginning for business actors in Paspan Village to take advantage of digital technology properly, especially implementing digital marketing so that there is progress or development in the Paspan Village economy. Abstrak Ekonomi desa menjadi sangat penting karena sebagai penggerak awal perekonomian suatu negara. Pentingnya perkembangan ekonomi juga didukung makin canggihnya teknologi yang hadir saat ini. Teknologi yang semakin meningkat harus dimanfaatkan sebaik mungkin untuk memudahkan semua kegiatan sehari-hari salah satunya meningkatkan usaha yang dimiliki. Desa Paspan sebagai desa yang berpotensi harus ikut serta mengikuti perkembangan zaman terutama mengenai pemanfaatan teknologi. Namun pelaku usaha di Desa Paspan belum memanfaatkan teknologi digital dengan baik khususnya di penjualan produk secara online. Kegiatan pelatihan digital marketing diawali dengan memberikan pengetahuan tentang pentingnya digital marketing dan dilanjutkan dengan praktik langsung pemakaian marketplace Shopee sebagai penjual. Dengan adanya pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat memupuk semangat para pelaku usaha dalam meningkatkan penjualan produknya serta dapat menjadi awal baru bagi pelaku usaha di Desa Paspan untuk memanfaatkan teknologi digital dengan baik khususnya menerapkan digital marketing sehingga ada kemajuan atau perkembangan di ekonomi Desa Paspan.
