Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian adalah mengembangkan dan menerapkan tes diagnostik pilihan ganda tiga tingkat untuk mengukur pemahaman representasi grafik mahasiswa terkait esensi inkuiri sains dan materi optika geometri. Penelitian menggunakan metode campuran melibatkan 83 mahasiswa calon guru fisika di satu LPTK Sumatera Utara. Instrumen tes diagnostik terlebih dahulu didesain kemudian disempurnakan selama proses, direvisi, dan digunakan untuk mendeteksi dan menilai pemahaman representasi grafik mahasiswa calon guru fisika. Instrumen tes telah dikembangkan untuk dapat mendiagnosis dan memperbaiki kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan calon guru fisika terkait dengan keterampilan mengonstruk grafik, menemukan kesulitan-kesulitan dalam membaca dan menginterpretasi grafik. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil studi menunjukkan pembacaan grafik dan keterampilan menginterpretasi grafik calon guru fisika masih belum memadai dan juga kemahiran dalam menganalisis grafik bergantung pada jenis grafik dan level atau tipe pertanyaan yang dikembangkan. Kata Kunci: representasi grafik, optik geometri, diagnostik tes ASSESSING OF UNDERSTANDING GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION CONTENT GEOMETRICAL OPTIC USING DIAGNOSTIC TEST Abstract: The purpose of this study is to develop and apply three tier multiple choice diagnostic test to measure student’s understanding of graphical representation about essential features of inquiry and content geometrical optic. The study was conducted using mixed methods and carried out with 83 prephysics teachers at a University of Teachers Education in North Sumatera. The diagnostic instrument was designed and then progressively refined, revised, and implemented to detect and assess student’s understanding of graphical representation. Test instrument was developed to diagnose and correct the mistakes made by pre-service physics teachers about construction graphic skills, difficulties in the reading and interpretation graphical representation. The results of this study showed that graph reading and interpretation skills of pre service teachers were inadequate and also their graphing analysis varies depending on the type of graph and level type of question was developed. Abstract

Indonesian students' competence in solving PISA literacy-based science questions is still relatively low compared to ASIA countries and even ASEAN countries. The research aims to develop wave material teaching materials based on PISA literacy for basic Physics courses in the Unimed Physics Study Program in the first semester of 2019/2020. This type of research is a research development using the stages of Analyze Design Develop Implement Evaluate (ADDIE). PISA-based competencies include competency in explaining science phenomena, competence in evaluating and designing science experiments and competence in interpreting the data from science experiments. In the analysis phase it was found that the available wave teaching materials did not fully support the demands of PISA competence. At the design stage, wave teaching materials are arranged by emphasizing the achievement of PISA competencies. At the development stage of the teaching material is validated by the material expert and revised according to expert input. At the implementation stage, teaching materials were tested on a small group of students and revisions were made to the material aspects of the competence of scientific inquiry and data interpretation in accordance with the difficulties found in the field. At the evaluation stage teaching materials are applied to undergraduate students in Physical Education. Results obtained: there was an increase in student responses and PISA-based competencies after using the developed wave teaching materials

Abstract

The objective in this research to explore the relationship between ability of the knowledge essential features inquiry science and their reasons underlying sense of scientific inquiry for physics teacher candidates on content geometrical optics. The essential features of inquiry science are components that should arise during the learning process subject matter of geometrical optics reflectance of light on a flat mirror, the reflection of light on curved mirrors and refraction of light at the lens. Five of essential features inquiry science adopted from assessment system developed by the National Research Council. Content geometrical optics developed from an analysis of a college syllabus material. Based on the study of the essential features of inquiry and content develop the multiple choice diagnostic test three tier. Data were taken from the students who are taking courses in optics and wave from one the LPTK in North Sumatra totaled 38 students. Instruments showed Cronbach alpha reliability of 0.67 to test the essential features of inquiry science and 0.61 to there as on geometrical optics science inquiry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of collaborative inquiry learning models in improving students' 4C (Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking and Creativity) skills for learning physics on impulses, momentum and collisions. The population of this study were all students of class X of SMA Negeri 7 Medan in the second semester of the 2017/2018 academic year. The sampling technique in this research used cluster random class, the experimental class used collaborative inquiry learning model and control class using conventional learning. The variables in the study consisted of 4C skills as dependent variables and collaborative inquiry models as independent variables. The data in this study were analyzed using one-party t-test. The results showed that students '4C skills with collaborative inquiry learning models were better than students' 4C skills with conventional learning

Abstract

Critical thinking skills is one way to be able to understand the scientific concepts that exist in physics content as a whole in this case represented by motion content. The aim of the research is to find critical thinking skills behind success and failure in understanding the motion concepts of prospective science teachers. The concept of mechanical motion is expressed in verbal, formal, graphical, and numerical representations. The concept of motion is the subject of the problem in the first tier of the test item. The second tier of the test item measures one of the four critical thinking skills that are relevant to the subject matter. The critical thinking skills studied are reasoning effectively, using systems of thinking, making judgments and decisions, and solving problem. The results of the study show coherence between the ability to understand concepts and critical thinking skills expressed by the correlation index. The magnitude of the correlation index shows the level of coherence between understanding the concept and the underlying critical thinking skills. Empirical data shows a high correlation value between verbal representation and reasoning effectively, formal representation with using system thinking, graph representation with making judgments and decision, and numerical representation with the solving problem skills

Abstract

Tiga puluh butir soal dan dua puluh butir soal instrumen tes diagnostik pilihan ganda tiga tingkat telah dikembangkan untuk mendeteksi kemampuan pengetahuan esensi inkuiri sains dan pengetahuan konten Optika Geometri mahasiswa calon guru Fisika. Metode campuran kualitatif dan kuantitatif digunakan dalam mengembangkan tes diagnostik selama dua bulan proses perkuliahan Optika Geometri yang melibatkan 38 mahasiswa. Tujuan  penelitian adalah pengembangan dan penerapan tes diagnostik untuk mengukur pemahaman mahasiswa tentang esensi inkuiri sains dan  materi Optika Geometri. Instrumen tes diagnostik terlebih dahulu didesain, kemudian disempurnakan selama proses, direvisi dan digunakan untuk mendeteksi dan menilai pemahaman mahasiswa terkait pengetahuan esensi inkuiri sains dan materi Optika Geometri. Setiap butir soal dirancang memiliki tiga tingkat, tingkat konten (content tier) mengukur kemampuan pengetahuan Optika Geometri atau kemampuan esensi inkuiri sains; tingkat alasan (reason tier) mengukur kemampuan penjelasan atau eksplanatori pengetahuan yang mendasari memilih salah satu jawaban;  dan tingkat kepercayaan (confidence tier) untuk mengukur derajat keyakinan dalam menentukan jawaban dan alasan yang dipilih.Versi akhir dari instrumen tes memiliki reliabilitas Cronbach alpha untuk tes inkuiri sains 0,87 dan untuk tes materi Optika Geometri 0,83. Bukti validitas diperoleh dari pertimbangan tiga dosen pakar dan analisis teknik korelasional antar skor validator untuk memperlihatkan konsistensinya.

Abstract

This research was aimed to know the student’s achievement using guided discovery learning model and conventional learning about vector kinematics topic. This research employed a quasi-experiment pre-test and post-test with control design. The populations were 59 students grade XI-science in SMAN 2 Lintongnihuta academic year 2016/2017. The samples consist of two classes, one class with 30 students as experiment class and one class as control class with 29 students, while the sampling technique used purposive sampling. The research instrument used an essay test. The data obtained in the study were analysed using Microsoft Excel. The conclusion was there was an effect of Guided Discovery Learning Model on the student’s learning achievement in vector kinematics topic in class XI SMA Negeri 2 Lintongnihuta Academic Year 2016/2017. The observation was done by observer using an observation sheet of student’s activity conclude that activity of students in experiment class more active than control class. Keywords: guided discovery, student’s achievement, vector kinematics

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran inquiry training dengan pendekatan multirepresentasi untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok usaha dan energi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi exsperiment dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Medan yang berjumlah 9 kelas. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas yang ditentukan dengan teknik random sampling, yaitu Kelas X-MIA 6 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Inquiry Training dengan Pendekatan Multi Representasi dan kelas X-MIA 5 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan pembelajaran Inquiry Training, jumlah siswa masing-masing kelas 30 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ada dua, berupa tes objektif yaitu soal kognitif sebanyak 15 soal dan soal berbasis inquiry training sebanyak 15 soal serta observasi aktivitas. Menguji hipotesis digunakan uji t, setelah uji persyaratan dilakukan yaitu uji normalitas dan homogenitas. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t diperoleh ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari implementasi model pembelajaran Inquiry Training dengan Pendekatan Multi Representasisecara signifikan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok usaha dan energi kelas X SMAN 3 Medan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar dan aktivitas belajar siswa akibat penerapan PCK dalam pembelajaran saintifik  pada materi pokok momentum dan impuls kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Morawa T.P 2016/2017. Jenis penelitian adalah quasi exsperiment dengan desain two group pre-test dan pos-test. Populasi penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Morawa dan sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik random sampling terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen X MIA- 2  dan kelas kontrol X MIA-5 yang masing-masing berjumlah 33 siswa dan 35 siswa. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dengan instrumen pilhan berganda sebanyak 15 soal, lembar observasi aktivitas dan pengujian hipotesis dengan uji t. Berdasarkan analisa data untuk kelas eksperimen diperoleh rata-rata pretes 44,24 dan postes 78,03. Kelas kontrol diperoleh rata-rata pretes 39,57 dan postes 71,6. Analisis uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas pada kedua kelas menjelaskan bahwa populasi berdistribusi normal dan memiliki varians yang homogen. Aktivitas belajar kelas eksperimen pada pertemuan I,II dan III adalah 65,10 (cukup aktif), 76,00 (aktif) dan 80,20 (aktif). Hasil uji t postes  thitung adalah 3,18 sedangkan ttabel adalah 1,671  pada taraf nyata 0,05 dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh PCK dalam pembelajaran saintifik untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok momentum dan impuls kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Morawa. Kata Kunci : pedagogical content knowledge (PCK), pembelajaran saintifik, hasil belajar

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh implementasi pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) pada inkuiri terbimbing untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok suhu dan kalor. Metode penelitian adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain Two Group Pretest dan Postest. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas X SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Medan T.P. 2016/2017. Sampel penelitian ini diambil dengan teknik random sampling, yang terdiri dari dua kelas,  yaitu kelas eksperimen diberikan perlakuan dengan implementasi PCK pada inkuiri terbimbing, dan kelas kontrol diberikan perlakuan dengan pembelajaran konvensional, masing-masing kelas sebanyak 25 siswa. Instrumen berupa tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 15 soal dan observasi aktivitas siswa kelas eksperimen. Data penelitian diperoleh rata-rata postes kelas eksperimen 74,39 dengan kategori tuntas dan kelas kontrol 64,00 dengan kategori tidak tuntas. Rata-rata skor aktivitas belajar siswa selama empat kali pertemuan sebesar 61,48% dengan kategori aktif. Hasil pengujian hipotesis diterima, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh implementasi PCK berbasis inkuiri terbimbing untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok suhu dan kalor. Kata Kunci: pedagogical content knowledge (PCK), inkuiri terbimbing,hasil belajar, aktivitas.
